As Sara entered her house, she found Maria wiping a photo of the family. Her eyes were sad as she carefully touched the picture. In the picture, George smiled beside their four kids, starting with oldest daughter Emily, Michael and the twin siblings Rachel and Benjamin.

Seeing how upset Maria was, Sara went over and touched her shoulder. “You certainly miss your children, right?” She spoke softly to her.

She nodded the tears in her eyes near the surface. The memories she once had with her family replaced the quiet, as she continued to look at the picture.

After sitting down beside her, Sara spread a feeling of comfort around her. "You carry them with you, Maria. They’re always in your heart," she said gently.

Maria exhaled deeply, sounding very sad. “I’d like for my children to be like you, but it won’t do any good to wish that. They left their old parents like this. One day, they’ll understand when their kids leave them," she lamented.

She was quiet, as if she could feel Maria’s hurt

In reality, ma'am," answered Austin with a light chuckle. "I am not only a colleague but something more. Sara and I are...dating. We are in a committed relationship with each other.”At the other end of the phone, everything fell quiet and Austin heard—through her silence—that Sara’s mom was not happy. “What did you just say something?” She said in a voice that sounded serious and sure of her.Austin repeated himself, enjoying the drama that was unfolding. He could almost imagine Sara's mom's face turning red with anger and disappointment.Just then, Sara emerged from the restaurant, looking refreshed and unaware of the bombshell that Austin had just dropped.Austin's smile faltered for a moment as Sara approached him. Austin quickly disconnected the call, saying, "I need to go" to Sara's mom. He swiftly switched off the phone, and when Sara's mom tried to call again, she found that it was switched off.*********

Sara’s eyelids grew heavy from all the driving. No sign of light shone outside and all that could be heard was the gentle sound of the engine.Austin maintained his focus on the road in front, using just a few little movements to steer the car around each turn. There was a silence between them.Sara slightly went off to sleep, her head moving lower and lower as time passed. She noticed the car going forward, but soon she couldn’t fight off sleep anymore and closed her eyes. Without realizing it, she fell asleep and her breathing became relaxed. He didn’t notice, his mind elsewhere and occupied driving. As he kept watching over the long silence, he realized that Sara was leaning against the door, looking cold as the air-conditioning didn’t seem to be enough. He gave himself a little smile. He quickly reached out, changed the temperature and checked that she wouldn’t feel cold. He looked over at her and realized she was still shivering. Quickly, he threw off his jacket and placed it ove

George slowly pulled into the driveway and the sound of his truck could be heard in the still night. The sun was slowly sinking down, lighting up the surroundings softly. Sara stood there, frowning, as she saw that Austin wasn’t home. She questioned softly, “Where’s Austin?”George got out of the truck and it was clear the weight of the day was on him. He assured me, “He didn’t want to leave the car, so he’ll wait until it’s repaired.”her expression shifted, her eyes revealing a little worry. She gave a slow nod, but the unease wasn’t going away.George shrugged and added in a soft voice, “There’s nothing to worry about. He will arrive before too long.”After that, Sara inhaled deeply and began to relax a little as she hoped Austin would come back before much longer. As the air got cooler, Maria appeared on the porch making everyone feel warm and comfortable. “Don’t feel concerned about your husband, Sara,” she told her calmly and soothingly. “Austin is not in any danger. He’s very r

He came out of the bathroom. He had thought Sara would be waiting for him, though he was surprised when he couldn’t spot her anywhere. He walked into the dining room and noticed Sara opposite George across the table. Their joyful talk filled the air and seeing them like that brought a big sense of comfort to Austin. He walked confidently toward the table, got a chair, dragged it across and sat down.He shouted, “Good morning!” with a charming smile. He leaned toward Sara a little after sitting down and put his hand on her shoulder. “Honey, you didn’t wait for me? You’ve become such a little glutton,” he teased, his tone playful yet pointed, deliberately trying to provoke her.Sara turned to him, her eyes sparkling with mischief. “Oh, I didn’t want to be late for breakfast, especially since I had no interest in watching your little leech antics,” she replied, a smirk playing on her lips as she gestured toward his pants. “You know, since the bathroom door doesn’t lock.”Austin glanced a

Austin's slumber had a strong fantasy of him and Sara snuggled up together, engulfed in a warm golden glow. It was unlike any moment he had ever shared with her, and yet, the soothing feeling of her lips brushing against his felt deeply tangible. Austin was glowing with giddy excitement as the romantic kiss deepened further.Unfortunately, with the exhilaration comes the distinguishable feeling of reality as the mind registers it is nothing but a fantasy. With the sudden move from him, Sara recreationally stirs beside her only to wake up with a jolt. She was truly in for the shock of her life as she slowly lifted her blurred-vision eyes to meet the reality of an Austin who was beneath her while she single-handedly draped her arm on his chiseled chest."What the...?"
