"My parents, they're dumb"

"Why? Did they…did they abandon you?", She asked and cradled the boy closer to her chest.

"...no", he replied sullenly.

"Oh, that's good, why…can I ask why you said they're dumb?", She asked tentatively, not willing to spook the boy that decided to open up to her.

He nodded.

She waited.

And waited.

And realized the question she asked.

She giggled. "You little shit"

She could see him visibly trying to hide a smile.

"Why did you say they were dumb?", She asked again.

"They set bitches on Noah", he sniffled righteously.

Myla's lips twitched. Okay, that was interesting. Chris' dedication to Noah's mate who he knew not was the most admirable thing she had ever seen.

"Hmm, well I assume you mean that girl in particular too", she said in thought.

"She's the second most bitchy out of all of them", he scoffed.

Damn there was an even bitchier one?

"Okay okay, but what if she really would be Noah's mate", she tried to make him see reason.
