Synopsis

Plot Twists

Family Emotions

Mistress

On Christmas, I canceled a delivery appointment for the daughter of New Hork’s richest man. Instead, I flew overnight to deliver the baby of my brother, the Mafia boss, and his fiancée. The moment I stepped into the delivery room, she was already writhing in pain. Yet she suddenly grabbed my hand and demanded to know if I was a virgin. Seeing that she was already three centimeters dilated, I assumed the pain had muddled her mind. So I casually replied that I hadn’t been one for a long time. That was when she completely lost it, kicking me hard in the stomach as she screamed, “Get out! A shameless woman like you isn’t worthy of touching my son?! “Switch to a virgin doctor right now! Don’t pass your filth onto my child! Disgusting! “And take away all those imported supplements you brought! Even dogs wouldn’t eat them!” I stared at her as she rolled around on the bed and fell into deep thought. I genuinely couldn’t understand how a woman who got pregnant before marriage and was still living off my brother got the confidence to look down on someone else for not being a virgin? Calmly, I removed my gloves and called my brother right in front of her. “Your fiancée says I’m dirty, so I won’t be delivering this baby. Let her give birth on her own. “Oh, and I’ve canceled the top-tier delivery suite I reserved for you, too. After all, I wouldn’t want them to offend her eyes.”

Chapter 1
On the other end of the phone, my mafia boss brother Liam Carter’s voice instantly became flustered.“Quinn? What’s wrong? Maria, she—”Before he could finish, Maria Garcia suddenly sprang up from the hospital bed. She snatched my phone and slammed it hard onto the floor. My globally limited, custom-made phone shattered into pieces. The important medical data stored inside was likely destroyed as well.“So you’re Quinn? You vixen!“You dare seduce my man right in front of me?!”She pointed at my face and cursed.“And you’re still pretending to be kind, coming here to help deliver my baby? I think you were just waiting for me to be weak so you could crawl into my fiance’s bed!”I was just about to explain patiently that Liam was actually my brother. However, before I could say anything, the delivery room door was suddenly shoved open.A middle-aged woman wearing a thick gold chain rushed in. It was Maria’s mother, Camila Garcia. The moment she saw her daughter thrashing on

“Since you’re not a virgin anymore, you must be really good at seducing men!“Don’t think I don’t know. There are plenty of women outside who want to marry my fiance!“Someone like you can only strip yourself naked to lure him!”At that moment, I finally understood. This lunatic wasn’t obsessed with virginity. She was simply hostile to any woman she saw, driven by pure jealousy and competition!Camila tightened her grip on my arm even more.“Let go!” I shouted sharply.Though Camila was startled by my sudden forceful tone, her grip didn’t loosen. My heart jumped to my throat.A woman’s face is everything. Nothing could happen to it.“Liam is my real brother!” I tried to explain, hoping they would come to their senses. However, in the face of jealousy, those words sounded weak and meaningless.Maria laughed mockingly, her movements becoming even more vicious.“Real brother? Please. Mistresses these days all call their men ‘brother’, don’t they?“Do you think I’m stupid? Li

The disgusting stench rushed straight to my head.I struggled violently and warned them that this was intentional assault. However, they looked at me like I was dumb, mocking me for not knowing what was good for me.“Get away from me!” I roared, suddenly jerking my head sideways and slamming it hard into Camila. She lost her balance, and the bottle slipped from her hand, which caused most of the liquid to splatter onto Maria’s face beside her.“Ah! My face! My eyes!”Maria let out a piercing scream. The liquid seemed corrosive, and her face instantly turned red. That completely enraged them.“How dare you! Drag her in there!”Camila pointed viciously at a storage room nearby, scowling. The two male nurses grabbed me and dragged me inside like a dead dog. Then, they used medical bandages to bind my hands and feet to a cold metal chair.Maria took out her phone and aimed it at my miserable face.“Say it! Say you voluntarily accepted our purification because your private life

Liam quickly took off his jacket and wrapped it tightly around me, covering my disheveled state.“Quinn, I’m sorry. I’m late.”His voice was filled with heavy guilt and self-blame.On the delivery bed, Maria snapped out of her initial shock and immediately started acting again. She clutched her stomach and cried weakly, “Honey, you’re finally here… I was so scared…“It’s all my fault. I shouldn’t have believed in superstition or listened to my relatives’ nonsense.“I just wanted to use a folk remedy to purify Dr. Carter… I was only thinking about our child…”She pushed all the responsibility onto those so-called relatives. My brother looked at her. There was no trace of his former tenderness in his eyes, only disappointment. This was the woman he once loved, the woman carrying his child. Yet she had used the most vicious methods to hurt the sister he cherished most.“For our child?” Liam’s voice was cold as ice.“For our child, you’d kidnap my sister, humiliate her, and even

The standard six-bed ward was filled with the cries of newborns, the chatter of family members, and a mix of unpleasant smells.Maria was placed on a bed near the door and immediately began screaming and throwing a tantrum.“I want to change rooms! Do you know who I am? My future husband is Liam, the mafia boss!“Call your hospital director! I’m going back to my top-tier delivery suite!”However, no one there bought it.An older woman sharing the room shouted impatiently, “What are you yelling for? My grandson just fell asleep! If you have money, go to a private hospital. Why are you squeezing in here with us?”Another patient’s husband chimed in, “Exactly. Judging by her attitude, she probably tried to marry up and failed, so she got kicked out.”Maria trembled with anger but had no way to argue back. She took out her phone and cried as she called her father, the chairman of Vitalis Pharmaceuticals, James Garcia.Soon, my brother’s phone rang. The moment the call connected,

Just when I thought things could temporarily come to an end, a new crisis swept in as I had never expected. That very night, a maliciously edited video began spreading wildly online. In the video, I looked ferocious, forcibly pouring an unidentified liquid into the mouth of a pitiful pregnant woman. The pregnant woman struggled desperately, only to be violently dragged by me into a dark room. The video was paired with a headline:[Shocking Scandal! Renowned OB-GYN, Saint World’s Quinn Carter Forces Pregnant Woman to Drink Talisman Water—Brutal Methods, Total Collapse of Medical Ethics!]#SaintWorldEthicsCollapse #SaintWorldMedicalKillsPatientsWithin just a few hours, the two topics shot up to number one and two on the trending searches.Countless netizens who didn’t know the truth were incited and flooded Saint World Medical’s official accounts and my personal social media, launching frenzied attacks.[I used to idolize you! Turns out you’re a demon in a white coat!][She mu

The news of the hearing caused a massive uproar online.James’ call came through immediately. His voice was filled with pleading and fear.“Ms. Carter! CEO Carter! Mafia principessa! We were wrong! We were really wrong!“Please withdraw the hearing! I’ll kneel and apologize to you! As long as you’re willing to let us go, name your price!”I cut him off coldly. “Do you think I lack money?”Then, I hung up.Once the bow was drawn, there was no turning back. This hearing had to go on.On the day of the hearing, more than fifty million viewers flooded into the livestream, and all major media platforms broadcast it in full. The scale was unprecedented.I wore a sharp white suit and sat calmly in the petitioner’s seat.Across from me were Maria and her mother, their faces ashen, and the two nurses, shaking uncontrollably. My legal team took the floor first and played surveillance footage from multiple angles within the hospital. It started from the moment Maria kicked me, to how

The chaos at the hearing, broadcast live, spread across the internet.Liam rushed to my side immediately, his face full of concern.“Quinn, are you okay?”I shook my head, but my gaze was in the direction Maria had been carried away.As a doctor, my first instinct was to assess her physical condition.“She’s not looking good. Judging by the bleeding, it could be placental abruption. She needs surgery immediately,” I calmly analyzed.Liam’s expression grew extremely complicated.A moment ago, he had been filled with anger and hatred at this woman’s malice. However, the next moment, hearing that she and the baby might be in danger, he instinctively felt a pang of worry. That worry, though, was soon replaced by strong disgust.Thinking about what she had just done made his stomach churn.“The ambulance is already here. We’ll take her to our Saint World hospital,” Amelia reported quietly beside us. “The OR and expert team are ready.”I nodded. No matter what mistakes she had ma

My brother took the report, his brows knitting tightly.“Doctor, is there something wrong with the baby?”The lead surgeon glanced around and lowered his voice.“Before the surgery, we prepared backup blood for the newborn per protocol and ran an emergency blood type test.“The report shows the baby has a rare Rh‑negative blood type, which is what people commonly call ‘panda blood.’”Hearing that, my heart sank. A strong sense of dread surged up instantly, and I immediately looked at Liam.I remembered very clearly that in the Carters’ medical records, my brother’s blood type was O. When I had previously conducted prenatal exams for Maria, her file also showed she was type O.Two O‑type parents, according to Mendelian genetics, could only have a child with type O blood. There was absolutely no possibility of Rh‑negative blood! My brother clearly realized this as well. The hand holding the report began to tremble uncontrollably. His face visibly changed from tense, deathly

Amelia worked with terrifying efficiency.About the same time my brother received the DNA report, a second, far more detailed investigation file was delivered into my hands. The identity of the baby’s biological father surfaced quickly. It was William Brown, the only son of the RenTech Medical chairman, a rival medical conglomerate. He was a notorious playboy, infamous within elite circles. The file documented every detail of Maria’s past with William. It turned out Maria had never been an innocent girl from a modest background. She had long been active in wealthy social circles, fixated on marrying into power.Maria became one of William’s many secret lovers. When she got pregnant by accident, she thought she could secure her future through the child.Instead, William abandoned her without hesitation and paid her hush money.Maria refused to accept that ending. So she carefully planned a scheme of finding a dad for the baby, and she chose my brother, Liam, as her target.S
