The rest of the day rolled by pretty quickly. A sea of students flooded towards the school's exit and I let the waves carry me along. As soon as we were outside the crowd dispersed and I filled my lungs with the fresh air before making my way to the Beetle.
"Hey, Secret! Wait up!" Oswald's voice calls loudly.
I turned and saw the tall curly-haired boy pushing his way through a small crowd then jogging towards me.
He was panting a bit when he finally reached where I was waiting and a smile appeared on his lips.
"Don't tell me you were planning on leaving without me?" He asks throwing his arm over my shoulder and we set out to where the Beetle was parked.
"I thought you didn't want to
The mid-morning weekend traffic wasn't as horrible as I had expected it to be. Helen had left before I even showered and had breakfast but on the bright side, I got to drive the Beetle to the floral shop. When I left, Brett was hanging out at the house with Adam and I was more than happy I didn't have to spend the day with those morons.Phoebe's car was in the parking lot which was overcrowded with people and vehicles. I scowled at how horrible I looked in the mirror, I had bags under my eyes and I was sleep-deprived. The reflection that stared back at me looked awful, almost like something out of The Walking Dead or worst one of those White Walkers. The hoodie I was wearing wasn't hiding me the way I wanted it to which made me even grouchier than usual. I was kept awake all night by the neighbour's son, and the hour-long excessiv
Music blared from the speakers and everyone around was busy partying away with loud cheers escaping their lips as they danced. The air inside the house was stale and there was an overpowering smell of liquor which lingered in the air along with the fumes from cigarette and cigars and whatever else they were cooking up.The oversized sweater was making it easier to move around and dance, as it allowed enough air to pass over my bare skin, which was a lucky pick considering the strong liquor was already working it's magic and my insides already felt overheated. I was feeling both hot and cold at the same time and I was thankful the sweater wouldn't get stuck to my skin or damped from sweat anytime soon. The tune blasted some more while teens and college students were in lip locks and getting down and partying their lives away. As for me the punch had left a metallic taste in my mouth and my body tingled madly
Ossey and the girl were in a liplock sitting on the staircase and people who were moving up and down the staircase didn't seem to pay much attention to the two. I turned my attention back to my cellphone in an attempt to shift my focus from off of Ossey and his fling. There was an overwhelming urge to spy on the two but I ignored it. Ossey and the girl got up from the staircase not long after and she led him up the stairs and he followed willingly. He glanced into the crowd of dancing people- perhaps in search of someone - when he got to the top of the staircase then disappeared with the hot college babe.I frowned. Outside was crowded as I made my way out of the house but the open space made it more tolerable. A group of rowdy teenagers seemed to be having another hot box while another group danced wildly to the music with beers in hand under the dark starry sky. Leaned up against the w
◆OSWALD'S P.O.V ◆ - CONTINUED -Secret groaned and tripped over her own two feet as I helped her up. She stumbled off to the side once more and I caught her before she could plummet to the ground."Do you even know her name?" She randomly questions.
◆ OSWALD'S P.O.V ◆ - CONTINUED -I awoke to an alarmingly excruciating headache and groaned loudly into the pillow. It didn't help much, only caused the headache to worsen. My eyes opened and snapped back shut. I squeezed them tightly to keep the bright glares coming through the window from blinding me as the pounding in my head escalated. My eyes too throbbed horribly which didn't help in the case of the already massive headache, which felt as if I was being cruelly jabbed in the head.I gripped the blanket and pulled it up over my head and buried my face in the pillows. They smelt of lemons for some reason and I sniffed the blankets. It too smelt of lemons for some reason, like lemon scented laundry detergent. When did Helen start using lemon scented anything?I rolled over in bed with my eyes closed fighting the stabbing pain but I was warm and cozy at least. Something felt wrong. How comes I couldn't hear Adam and Brett? Wai
"You're late," Oswald scolds once the Beetle entered the school's parking lot.I frowned at him. I was pretty early by my standards. There was still sixty seconds to go before the first set of bells chimed."Be grateful I'm here, I almost didn't turn up," I mutter."Honestly Cece, do you hate school that much or do you just like being a rebel?" He chides.I flashed him a mocking grin and it was his turn to frown."At least I'm here that's one step in the right direction isn't it?""Unfortunately it is," Ossey agrees and threw his arm over my shoulder.Dozens if not, several hundred
The oven door opened releasing sparsely any steam. My teeth ground on each other threatening to break and my hands coiled into a fist as my heart thumped in my chest like a caged animal trying to break out of its cage. The dish hit the countertop with a loud clatter and I looked down at it enraged."ADAM! YOU PIECE OF SHIT!"The shrill cry ripped through the air at the top of my lungs and I could hear myself breathing. It suddenly made sense why the asshole had departed in such a hurry, the piece of human waste had stolen my food.I stormed out of the kitchen and headed to the stair, roiling. Once I reached the landing my footsteps could be heard from a mile off, thundering down the hallway to his bedroom. The door flew open with a loud bang and I bulldozed my way inside. Adam's room r
Just when I was feeling content to have had a Blade free day, there the asshole was, casually strolling towards us. With each step, I felt sicker in the stomach just watching him come closer and closer. Blade's cronies were still arguing farther in the distance, and I grew suspicions about their presence at the park at this hour. They had to be up to something. My eyebrows knitted in anger and my hands coiled into fists as Blade was closing the distance. I was tempted to march up to him and give him a piece of my mind but I stopped when I saw Emmett walk out to meet Blade. Blade cracked a sort of smile and my mouth almost hung open in shock.Wait what's going on?!My hands unfolded from the fists and I was too dumbfounded to speak or do anything other than watch the scene unfolding in
