"Answer the phone, Catherine..." I groaned as the call took me to voicemail again.

I had been trying to call her for three days, wanting to know where she was and if she was safe, but she returned none of my calls.

I was worried sick and almost on the verge of filing her as a missing person. My mind was racing, trying to understand where she could've gone.

She was happy the last time I saw her and was wearing a beautiful dress, which took me aback for a moment.

If I hadn't told myself that I wanted peace between us, even though she didn't want to be with me, I wouldn't have left that day without finding out where she was planning to go.
