Everything changed

Overnight, everything had changed.

I was no longer allowed to sleep in the bedroom I once shared with Matteo. Instead, I was ordered to move to the maids’ quarters. I had less than three days to gather my belongings and disappear from this pack forever.

When I reached the small, dimly lit room, I paused at the doorway, my heart heavy. It was cramped and simple — just three bunk beds squeezed into a narrow space. Two of the lower bunks were already occupied by sleeping maids. Their breathing was soft and steady. They didn’t even stir as I stepped inside.

I quietly set down the few things I had managed to carry: a worn bag stuffed with clothes, my toothbrush, and one pair of shoes. The rest of my belongings were still back in Matteo’s room. Deep down, I knew they would probably be thrown away or burned before I could ever return for them.

The top bunk was empty. I climbed the creaky wooden ladder slowly, careful not to make any noise that might wake the others. Once I lay down on the thin, lumpy mattress, the weight of the day finally crashed over me.

I closed my eyes tightly, but the tears refused to stay hidden. They slipped out anyway, hot and silent, trailing down my temples and into my hair. Everything hurt — my chest, my pride, my future. The life I had known was crumbling around me, and there was nothing I could do to stop it.

That night, the only sounds in the quiet room were my muffled sobs and the painful cracking of my shattered heart. Sleep came slowly, and when it did, it was shallow and restless.

---

I had only managed a short, fitful nap when a sudden shock of freezing water slammed into my body.

I gasped sharply and bolted upright, nearly losing my balance on the narrow top bunk. The icy water soaked through my clothes instantly, cutting straight to my bones. Violent shivers wracked my frame as I wrapped my arms tightly around myself, trying desperately to hold in what little warmth I had left.

“About time you woke up, lazy bum,” one of the maids sneered.

The other girl burst into loud, mocking laughter as they watched me tremble in confusion and cold.

“Sleeping until eight in the morning?” the second one taunted, her voice dripping with disdain. “What, did you think you were still the Luna? That you could laze around like before? Get down here. You have a lot of work waiting for you in the laundry room.”

Anger flared inside me, hot and sudden. For a moment, I wanted to snap back at them — to remind them who I had been. But the truth settled heavily in my chest. I wasn’t the Luna anymore. I had no wolf. No power. No protection.

Reacting with pride would only make them target me more.

So I swallowed the bitter words, climbed down the ladder on shaky legs, and quickly changed into the plain, faded clothes I had brought. Without saying a word, I followed them out of the room.

When we reached the laundry room, they led me to an enormous pile of white sheets. It was clearly too much work for one person — the kind of load that was usually shared between four or five maids. Sara and Clara stood back, arms crossed, watching me with smug little smiles.

They had done this on purpose. They wanted to break me on my very first day.

Their eyes dared me to complain. They knew I couldn’t fight back. A wolfless girl like me was easy prey.

I lowered my gaze and began working without protest.

The hours dragged on painfully. My fingers grew raw and swollen from the harsh soap and endless scrubbing. Every time I straightened my back, it cracked loudly, sending sharp aches through my spine. Sweat trickled down my forehead, stinging my eyes. My arms trembled with exhaustion.

I couldn’t remember ever feeling this drained. Back when I was Luna, even when I spent long hours doing paperwork in my office, Matteo would always appear with a tray of warm food. He never allowed me to skip meals. His care had been quiet, but constant.

Now, I hadn’t eaten. I hadn’t bathed. My stomach ached with emptiness, and my throat felt painfully dry.

Finally, I couldn’t bear it any longer. I straightened up slowly, my vision spinning for a few frightening seconds. My voice came out hoarse and weak as I turned toward the two maids who were casually sitting on stools, chatting.

“Excuse me… I’ve washed almost all the sheets. Only three are left. Please… can I take a short break to eat something? I’m so tired.”

Each word felt like sandpaper in my throat.

Sara, the blonde one, looked at me with open contempt. “You’re not even finished, and you already want food?” She let out a cold laugh. “Don’t make me laugh.”

My hands shook as I clenched them at my sides. “But I’ve done most of it… This is too much. It’s maltreatment.”

Clara, the brunette, threw her head back and laughed loudly, as if I had told the funniest joke. “Maltreatment? This is nothing. I was even given the choice to send you to the brothel to sell your body, but I didn’t. You should be thanking me instead of complaining about a little work and food.”

The humiliation burned deep in my chest. I wanted to scream. I wanted to cry. Instead, I bit down hard on my lip and bent over the washbasin again, continuing in silence.

That was when the door to the laundry room opened.

Sara and Clara instantly dropped to their knees, bowing low with exaggerated respect.

“Greetings to the Luna!” they called out in unison.

Even without looking up, I knew who had entered.

Selene.

I kept scrubbing, my raw fingers moving mechanically, refusing to acknowledge her presence. Her elegant heels clicked slowly across the floor until they stopped directly in front of me — close enough that I could see the expensive leather clearly in my line of sight.

She said nothing.

She simply stood there, looking down at my soaked, exhausted, broken form.

Rose’s POVSince that night, Caius had stopped talking to me.Completely.He hadn’t said a single word to me since he walked out of that room at the club. Not a greeting. Not a glance. Not even a nod when we passed each other in the hallways. It had been four days.Four days of silence that felt heavier than any scream could ever be.I tried everything to run into him. To meet him. To force even a moment of conversation.I lingered near the training grounds when I knew he would be there. I “accidentally” walked past his favorite spots in the forest. I even showed up at the Alpha’s office multiple times, pretending I had questions about pack business. But every single time I entered his office, he wasn’t there. The desk was neat. The papers were stacked. The chair was empty. It felt like he was jumping out the window the moment he heard my footsteps. Like he was doing anything possible to avoid me.And it broke me.I sat in my room now, staring at the wall, my chest tight with a pain t

Caius’s POVWe stayed like that for a long time — her still trembling in my arms, my cock softening inside her.I had never felt more alive. She had been perfect. Responsive. So fucking right. But then she froze. And the words that came out of her mouth shattered everything.“Caius… I… I need to tell you something,” she whispered, voice trembling. “I’m not who you think I am. I’m Rose. Your sister. I’m the girl who left for the human world at fourteen. I’m the one who came back. I’m the one you’ve been calling your mate… but I’m your sister.”I froze. My entire body went rigid as her words sank in.*Rose.*My sister. One of the very people in my family I had sworn to protect for the rest of my life. The girl I had just fucked senseless. The girl I had called my mate.I pulled out of her slowly, sitting back on my heels, staring at her in disbelief. My mind was spinning, refusing to process what she had just said.“No,” I said, voice low and rough. “That’s not funny. Take off the mask.

Caius’s POVI went back to the club the next night. And the night after that. I sat in the same private room, nursing the same drink, waiting. The associates tried to entertain me again, but I sent them away. I wasn’t interested in their games tonight.I was waiting for her.Hours passed. The club grew louder, the music heavier, the crowd more rowdy. Still, no sign of her.I was starting to think she wasn’t coming. That maybe I had imagined the connection. That maybe the mate pull I felt was one-sided — or worse, just my own desperate imagination.I was about to leave when the door opened. She stepped in.The black cat mask was back, covering the upper half of her face, leaving only her full lips and beautiful eyes exposed. She wore a different dress tonight — shorter, darker, more revealing. My breath caught in my throat. She was here. She walked toward me slowly, almost hesitantly. I stood up, my heart pounding harder than it had in any battle.“You came back,” I said, voice low.Sh

  • The Banished Luna's Awakening   He saw me as a Sister..

Caius's POVI stepped into the pack house feeling strangely lighter than I had in a long time. The encounter with the masked girl at the bar had left me unsettled in the best way. Her scent — or lack of it — still lingered in my mind. The way she had responded to me, the way she had looked at me through that black cat mask… it was like nothing I had ever experienced.I was still thinking about her when I walked into the main hall.“Mom? Dad?” I called out.Mom's voice rang out from the living room, bright and full of energy.“Caius!”She appeared around the corner and immediately pulled my head down into a warm, tight hug. Even though I was much taller than her now, she still managed to make me feel like a pup again.“Look at you!” she laughed, squeezing me tighter. “You’re getting taller every single week. What are you boys feeding on? Soon you’ll be taller than your father!”I chuckled softly, wrapping my arms around her. “Good to see you too, Mom.”Matteo stood a few steps behind h

  • The Banished Luna's Awakening   A mysterious pull

Rose’s POVI froze beneath him.My entire body went rigid as his words sank in.*Mate.*Caius — my brother — believed the pull he felt was the mate bond.My heart hammered so hard I thought it might burst. I couldn’t speak. I couldn’t even breathe properly. The mask suddenly felt suffocating.Caius noticed my reaction immediately. He pulled back just enough to look down at me, his expression softening with concern. He was still buried deep inside me, his cock twitching with the aftershocks of his release.“Hey,” he whispered gently, brushing his thumb across my cheek. “It’s okay. You don’t have to say anything. I know this is… a lot.”He leaned down and kissed me again — slow, tender, and full of unexpected emotion. His lips moved against mine like he was savouring me.“Maybe you don’t feel it yet because your wolf hasn’t manifested,” he murmured against my mouth, still rocking slowly inside me. “That makes sense. The bond might be one-sided right now. But I feel it. Strongly. I’ve ne

  • The Banished Luna's Awakening   You're my mate

Rose's POV I had spent the next two days studying Caius’s schedule like it was my lifeline. So when I discovered he was heading to this exclusive private bar tonight to discuss important business pack deals with his most trusted associates, I knew this was my chance. Heart pounding, I waited until the house was quiet, then snuck out through the side entrance. I changed in the car into the short, revealing dress and the black cat mask that would hide my identity. Blending in with the other masked entertainers the associates had called for entertainment that night wasn’t difficult. When Caius finally walked in and took his seat in the back private room, I made my move — crawling to him on my knees just like the other girls. **** My heart was hammering so hard I could barely breathe. I knelt in the middle of the dimly lit private room at the back of the bar, my knees pressing into the soft carpet. I was in a fully submissive stance — back straight, thighs spread just enough, head r
