Emily was sitting in the living room when she heard the sound of a car entering the villa. She frowned a little, wondering who it might be. Curiosity got the best of her, and she stood up to check.

When she reached the door and saw who it was, her eyes blinked in surprise. It was Denovon.

He said he’d be back early… but isn’t this too early? she wondered.

“You’re home early,” she said while standing at the door.

“I told you I’d be back early, didn’t I?” Denovon replied.

He stopped a few feet away from her, standing still with a soft expression on his face. Then, without saying anything else, he opened his arms wide as if asking for a hug. One brow raised playfully, a smile sitting on his lips.

Emily stared at him for a few seconds, surprised by the gesture. But slowly, she took a step forward and smiled, letting herself fall into his arms.

Denovon’s smile widened as he wrapped his arms around her. He loved this feeling… having her in his arms calmed something in him.
