My hand shook like a leaf, turning the round, silver doorknob.

Suddenly, I felt the doorknob could not be turned anymore.

The kitchen door was closed from the outside.

"No, no, no," I kept saying, as if I was going crazy.

I was so angry and felt like a fool to think he would leave me in his house, without locking me in, knowing I would try to escape.
