Harrison POV

The girls chatted, and I cooled off after my slight panic at Holly's suggestive questioning to Rhett, who I noticed had been nearly completely silent this whole time.

“You good?” I asked.

“Sure. Why?”

“You’ve barely said anything.”

“I’ve been enjoying our company,” he said with a smile across the table at the girls, who were still deep in their own conversation.

“Carefully making sure she doesn’t say the wrong thing?” I mumbled so that only he could hear, and he nodded his head to me. “I’m sorry,” I whispered.

He whispered back, “It’s just Holly being Holly.”

“Yes?” she asked suddenly from the other side of the table.

Rhett had a quick comeback ready, asking her, “What are you gonna wear to the wedding? And do you have a date?”

Holly smirked, knowing we were talking about her. “No date; I'm freshly single. And I hadn’t given it much thought yet. How fancy is the wedding? Do I need to buy something new or can I reuse my homecoming dress for it?”
