Sarah POV I sat there looking at Jack. He was my future. He was my everything. But my brother mattered to me. I could not sit there and deny that holding my brother and removing his pain was tempting to me. I had been where he was. I had been abused and expected death. Was that what he was thinking? That he would die any day. Tears formed in my eyes, and I saw Jack shake his head. I could feel his fear vibrating off him. I continued to look at Jack as I whispered, âNo.â. âNo?â the warlock stated as if he was not sure who I was speaking with. âNo; I am not coming with you,â I said louder to him. I kept my eyes on Jackâs face. I saw his shoulders sag in relief and then he pulled me tightly into his arms. âI am sorry to hear that,â the warlock says. âHe will have to be punished until I can punish you myself,â he says. âGive him a message from me â tell him I am coming for him,â I say looking deep into the eyes of the warlock.
Sam POV Looks like Jack had the same idea. Sarah was sitting with him on the couch, leaving the chairs in front of Adamâs desk for Josie and me. I was holding Josieâs hand and pulled her chair closer to mine so I could still touch her. Jenna was sitting with Adam in his lap. âI called the Beta of the Harvest Moon Pack. Alpha Lucas has been missing for a month and Lana has not been seen since we captured her. The Pack is falling apart, and they are asking for our help,â Adam says. âWhy didnât they call sooner?â I ask concerned with their sudden desire for help only after we called. âI asked that. The answer I received indicates they did not know who to turn to as they did not want to appear weak in front of their allies,â Adam replies. Nodding, âI can see that but to be without your Alpha for over a month. That sounds fishy,â Jack adds. I agree with him. It is too coincidental. Sarah clears her throat, âThe Beta has always challenged Luc
Josie POV This guy was pissing me off. Clearly, he was an arrogant prick who knew more than he was letting on. My skin crawled when he hugged Sarah. If he knew she was a witch, he could have been trying to determine what type of barrier she might have put up. Fortunately, we all had protection spells, but we could not be too careful. Walking up the stairs closely beside Beta Steve, I could not wait to get him alone. âWhere is everyone?â Sarah asks the Beta. âThey are still here, just where they should be. In their homes or working,â he snarls at Sarah. He was bound by her powers now; unable to communicate with anyone, and he was pissed. âWhat about the children?â Jack asks. âThey are in a special daycare. Their parents do as their told and their children remain safe,â Beta Steve smirks. âAnd if they do not?â Jack asks. âLet us just say they get a reminder, and then the pup suffers if the parents do not do as is expected,â Steve smirks
Josie POV I step forward as the rogues steps all falter. âRogue Queen,â they all say bending to their knees in respect for my position. I look at everyone one of them in pity. They were doing what they were commanded to do, but they would all die here today. âRise and take us to the prisoner,â I say coldly. They immediately rise and quickly scurry to be the first to open the door. âNobody touches anyone who is with me. They are under my protection; if anyone tries to harm them you protect them with your lives,â I say coldly as they all stare nodding their heads. The only things rogues fear is the Rogue King, or in this case, me ⌠the Rogue Queen. Half of the warriors remain outside to protect the perimeter. Sarah runs ahead of us before Jack can stop her. We did not want her to see her brother in the shape we anticipated he would be in. That was if he was even here. As Sarah ran around the corner ahead of us, we heard her gasp as she grabbed the s
Sam POV I watched Josie take over as soon as we arrived at the Harvest Moon Pack, and I could not be prouder. She was in her element, and I recognized she was strong in her own her right. I knew it before but really saw and felt it when she took over as the Rogue Queen. I knew she did not want to be the Rogue Queen; however, I could not help but wonder if our relationship would be enough for her. We had finished letting the Harvest Moon Pack members free. We had gathered intel to share with the Werewolfâs Council. The Werewolfâs Council was the regulator for our kind. When things went south and they could not be resolved at the local level, they inevitably made their way to the Werewolfâs Council. We were building the case against Lana, Tim, and whomever was this wizard. We knew taking down the wizard would be difficult as they fell under the Wiccan Council; however, we were going to ask Miranda how best to proceed in that case. Right now,
Jack POV I bent over the woman named Tina to find she was dead. âSweetheart we wanted to get more information from her,â I commented to her as I stood up from the dead wolf. âToo bad, she had to die,â Sarah replied coldly. âShe was friends with Lana. I never saw many others around them, now that I think about it,â Sarah adds. I move closer to Sarah, but she steps away from me. Confused I let her have her space, planning to talk to her as soon as we had some time alone. âWe should figure out sleeping arrangements for the next couple of nights,â I suggest. âWe will sleep in my room, assuming it is still mine,â Sarah replies. âWe will find a room for you both as well,â Sarah adds looking at Sam and Josie. Nodding Sam takes Josieâs hand, âWe should do that sooner than later. I want to be settled before Tim arrives and we do not have much time before that is supposed to happen,â Sam suggests. We head towards the Pack house where some of the O
Josie POV âCome with me, Josie,â Tim says. âWhere are the children?â I ask him. âWe will return the children once I have you safely in my arms,â he replies. My skin crawls thinking about being in his arms. âI do not believe you; let Sam go, return the children and I will go with you,â I reply to him. Sam continues to fight against the rogue holding him down. It is hardly a fair fight. Two rogues are holding Sam down while the other has him in a death grip. Sarah is standing beside me, as I see her raise her hands. Leaves start swirling around all of us similar to a mini tornado. Many are trying to back away from the phenomenon but there is a barrier stopping them from leaving the circle. The rogues holding Jack back from Sam start to loosen their grips, allowing Jack to free himself and run toward the rogues holding Sam down. Jack rips one off Sam and fights him tearing the throat out of the rogue. The distractions allow Sam to shift en
Sarah POV âI will make those decisions, Jack,â I say to my mate as he tries to tell me what I can and cannot do. Jack drops Tim before we reach the dungeons taking hold of my shoulders. âYou cannot be serious, Sarah. This guy may not even be legitimate. Letâs wait and see who he is before we jump on board with his crap story,â Jack snarls before turning to reach for Tim. âDo not tell me what I can and cannot do,â I reply surprising him. Jack turns with a smirk on his face. âI am all for women power and world peace, sweetheart, but when it comes to you and your safety, you can damn well bet that I will be chiming in my two cents worth,â Jack replies. He reaches for Tim tossing him effortlessly over his shoulder. We continue walking as Matt is now being carried by Sam. âDid you or did you not just hear him admit to leaving you to rot in that dungeon?â Jack demands angrily. âOr perhaps the fact that they left you there for a month, does not
