Chapter 10 – Bad Timing
JwgstoutI'm sure we all have days where we just have no clue what day or time is. This seems to be a regular thing for me right now lol. It's Friday my lovely readers, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Those in the USA, I hope you have a safe and wonderful memorial day and I hope you will join me in remembering those who have fought bravely for their country, not just in the USA but across the world. I will be posting two extra chapters later today as Monday is a holiday and I will not be posting again until Tuesday, May 30th.

JONDA I sat, somewhat patiently, waiting for Kellen or a doctor or even a nurse to come tell me what was going on. I couldn’t hear anything from the other side of the door. All I could do was pray that my recently discovered sister and the baby were doing okay. I had been here for hours; It was now close to becoming Saturday morning. MIKE “Alright. Then discuss them. Starting with, what the fuck was that I walked in on?” I gestured with my head to move back down the corridor. We followed Hunji into one of the conference rooms, finding Morgan, Hunji’s mate already in there waiting for us. With a huff, I pulled out a chair and flopped down into it. I could seriously use a drink right now or a bottle. Hell, a few bottles. Anything to make me forget tonight. “Make it quick Hunji I’m about done with tonight.” “You and me both.” Hunji grunts. He takes a seat next to Morgan but then pulls her onto his lap, burying his nose into her hair and taking deep gulps of her scent. My stomach tightened and coiled at the sweet display of affection. My wolf whimpered in loss and anger that Jonda and my murdering thief of a mate had evoked. “Rhett is already aware, and I have reported to Queen Lamia, but as you also know the Kodiak Kingdom was attacked a month ago. Before that Alpha Xander’s convoy was hit on the way to Riocht.”

MIKE Stepping out of the elevator, I took a deep breath, holding it. Only releasing it when I saw Rogue standing outside the delivery room alone. I wanted to be there for Kellen and Tala. LYRIC The green-eyed warrior had left me sitting here some time ago. It had to be the next day by now. I had no concept of time as I sat in the windowless cell. I stared at myself through the large mirror that took up a whole length of a wall. No doubt a two-way mirror. I had stated I would only speak to the Beta. Yet that was hours ago. I was running out of time and patience. I can admit to lifting the crown but I was no murderer. At least I didn’t take anyone's life tonight. LYRIC Sunday I paced the cell a couple of guards moved me to last night. I had managed to undo the silver cuffs and slipped them off. Throwing them under the lone cot as soon as they locked the cell door and left me. At least I was able to pee in the bucket that served as a toilet. Disgusting as it might be, I didn’t have to resort to wetting my pants. My ego had been bruised enough getting caught, without adding the stench of sitting in your own urine. The guards were gracious enough to tell me what day it was, as they hauled me down here. Tomorrow, if Lizzy had listened, she would leave for the safe house. I couldn’t chance her and my son going out in the open without protection. I had no idea if Shadow had caught up to them. Or if Miko had spilled his guts. All I knew was they weren't safe. JONDA I left the dungeons more confused and frustrated than ever. Originally, I wanted to see Mike's fated mate, to know who she was.
