Vivienne's POV

The last few days didn't pass as a blur like I would have preferred. Instead, it dragged on. They were mostly uneventful but I couldn't deny the fact that the peace that came with it was quite nice, when I wasn't thinking about something else, that is.

I tried my level best to not think about it. In fact, I went as far as distracting myself just so thoughts of him couldn't creep up, but there was only so much that could do. Ronan on the other hand, had given me space without saying much. He didn't push, neither did he ask me again if I was okay. While I loved the little distance, I couldn't deny the fact that it had struck something in me.

Was he really no longer concerned? Had he given up on me so easily?

I pushed the thoughts out of my mind before they could escalate. I hadn't mentioned the message from Grant either. I couldn't. Because I wasn't ready to watch Ronan's face shift from warmth to worry, or worse. Rage. I wasn't ready to admit I still felt the burn of

Vivienne's POV I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t think. My body was humming with so many damn emotions, it was like every inch of me was on fire. No matter how hard I tried to shake it off, or just make it go away, Lana’s smirk was still burned into the back of my mind, and the way she winked at me before walking away? I hated it. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw her, her damn confidence, the way she strutted through the club like she owned it. Like she was the one who belonged here, and I didn’t. Somehow, it was harder than ever to ignore that fact.“You sure you’re okay?” Ronan’s voice broke through the fog, but it didn’t bring clarity, only more confusion. I'd lost count of the number of times he'd asked me that, but I didn't care, and he didn't look like he'd be stopping anytime soon. I glanced up at him, his eyes filled with concern, and that damn flicker of guilt he couldn’t hide. What the hell was there to be guilty about? He wasn’t the one who’d been made to feel like shit.

Vivienne's POV I didn’t move, I couldn't. No matter how hard I tried to move my feet, it felt like I had lead for bones instead. My brain on the other hand had seemed to have lost its sense of passing down orders to the rest of my nervous system, because no matter how hard I willed myself to move, my body just refused to budge. Not even after Ronan had disappeared down the hallway with her.I still didn't react to a thing, even when the shouting had faded and the crowd slowly began to scatter, their thrill clearly spent. What the hell was wrong with me? I'd barely asked myself that question before the answer popped its way to the back of my mind. The reason I was like this and almost immobile, was all because of Lana. The mere taste of her name on my lips was worse than bile, but nothing could compare to the memory I had of her. If a seer had seen all that had happened here and whispered them to me before Ronan and I left home, then best believe I would have stayed back, but on sec

Ronan's POV For the next couple of seconds, the only color I could see, was red. It blinded every bit of my eyes, and right now, I wouldn't be exaggerating when I said the only thing fueling my movement was the adrenaline from everything that had just happened, and the thought of putting a particular snake, into her fucking place. Red hot anger seared deep inside my veins, and even though I was on the verge of combusting into a million pieces all at once, there was one image I wasn't sure I would be getting out of my system anytime soon. Vivienne. I wasn't a damned mind reader, but even a lowlife would be able to tell that none of what had gone down today had actually sat right with her, and to make it all the more worse, I just had to interrupt her, when she was just about to introduce herself. She was about to introduce herself as my wife, and I fucking cut her short. Shit. A small chuckle from behind was all it took to put a pin to my thoughts. Hell, I had no idea what I was

Vivienne's POVGrowing up, I had days I really dreaded, and most times, that was because I usually already had an inkling as to what was going to happen. Yes it made me anxious, but at the same time, it gave me the slight chance and opportunity to find a solution or a way around it. I honestly thought it would be the same today, but I couldn't have been any more wrong. My fingers trembled, and no matter how hard I tried to keep them steady, they just wouldn't budge. How could they? When Ronan's words had just caused a chill to slither down my spine a couple of minutes ago. “Get dressed, princess.” His words echoed all around me, and if I pressed my eyes shut for too long, then I could pretend all over again that he was still in the room, and standing right behind me, with his hands wrapped around my waist. “We leave in ten.” Ten minutes. Ten minutes till we go back to that arena Ronan called a clubhouse. I wanted to call it a fighting ring, but deep down, I felt it didn't capture w

Vivienne's POV The house was quiet, and I didn't know what to think about it. Prior to this moment, I could swear I loved the quiet. Maybe it had something to do with my ugly past with Grant or not, but I knew, deep down, I used to enjoy being alone, because most times when I wasn't, I was either being forced to overhear Grant's messy affairs in our bedroom, or be forced to watch him get all handsy on me, in public. In moments like that, the quiet was the only period I got to myself, and I made sure to cherish it. It was the only thing that got me going, till I decided to run away, but now, I could say it was entirely different. The silence in Ronan’s house was louder, and every minute, it ripped a part of my sanity along with it. Ronan's house. I almost chuckled at the irony. It was technically my house too since we were married, but I just couldn't allow myself fall into the facade of finally having a home. Ronan and I came from different worlds, and even though I'd promised my

Ronan's POV The first thing I noticed the moment the door clicked shut behind me, was how quiet it all was. It was too quiet if you asked me, but somehow, the sweet smell that clung to the air made up for it, but only slightly. Her scent of vanilla, skin, and something faintly floral, hung in the air. It was haunting and delicate, like it didn’t belong in a place like this, but I cherished it more than I was going to admit. My eyes did a quick scan of the living room as I leaned against the doorframe. Nothing had changed, but all I could picture was Vivienne standing by the window, and watching all of the drama unfold a little while ago. I'd gotten up way before she did, and when I'd said it wasn't intentional, then you'd better believe it wasn't. Despite how successful I was in bringing her to bed without causing her any pain, I still couldn't sleep a wink. During the night, she'd let out occasional groans that hinted at the fact that her leg hurt, and it was only as a result of t
