Chapter 19: Blaze's Realization

Blaze's POV

I was staring at Ayira, who was sleeping soundly on the hospital bed. And as I gazed at her delicate face, an extraordinary emotion bloomed in my heart. I pondered what it was, but I couldn't get an answer. Perhaps I was guilty of what had happened to her. Because if it were not for me, if I only let her go with Mr. Ashford, she wouldn't be here.

After the ambulance came last night, we immediately brought her to the hospital. I called Doctor Jones, my grandfather's 55-year-old doctor, ahead to standby. Thus, as soon as we arrived at the hospital, he attended to Ayira immediately.

Good thing, Ayira had only mild symptoms and clear lungs. After the doctors evaluated her, they had declared her out of danger. Doctor Jones said that the first aid treatment I performed right after I rescued her from the water was a great factor. Then, they had transferred her to a private room for observation.<
