Chase’s POV

I got into a cab and drove off.

I didn’t have anywhere in particular that I was heading to, but I just needed to leave.

Using my car would have been the best option, but I couldn’t because I hadn’t come with it. Everyone left their personal mode of movement at the big league.

My phone rang; it was Terry, but I ignored it.

Right now, I just wanted to be alone.

“Where exactly are you going to, sir?” The driver asked me.

From all indications, he didn’t know who I was. He was a man who was well into his seventies because of his grey hairs, and mostly, people like that didn’t care about famous people. It was a good thing I was able to get out of my uniform before leaving.

Getting a taxi that the driver had no idea who I was felt really good, because the last thing I needed right now was to have a fan fawning over me.

Not after what just happened.
