Aria's POV

Maybe it was the medicine finally kicking in, or maybe I'd just sweat out the last of the fever, but I actually woke up feeling... fine. A little weak, but far better than before.

Frank came by to check on me and barely glanced in my direction before waving me out of the infirmary like I was taking up too much space.

Kane saw I was looking better and insisted on swinging by the apartment so I could change before heading to the office.

I didn't expect Edric to just let me slide back into work. But apparently, Baron had said something to him, because instead of his usual snide remarks, I got a phone call—yes, a phone call—from Edric himself. He calmly handed me a list of tasks and even ended with a condescending but strangely polite "Keep up the good work."

Whatever. I wasn't one to hold grudges. By noon, I'd finished everything he asked for.

Then Kane summoned me to his office.

The second I stepped inside, before

I hope Aria overhears this conversation and realizes that Kane doesn’t want anything to do with Gabriella. They are not engaged.

  • The Billionaire Regret After My Goodbye   She Was Still Mine

Baron's POVI stayed at Amos' clinic, but my mind was anywhere but here. The moment Kane left the hospital, I had this sinking feeling in my gut. The way Aria got hurt—it didn't add up. I needed to figure out exactly what happened.I called the traffic department to get a report on the scene, then immediately had someone pull the street surveillance footage and check for witnesses.Of course, I didn't forget what Kane asked me to do either. I'd already sent someone to handle things on Edric's end.Standing in the hallway, I gripped my phone tighter, brows drawn into a hard knot. "No one saw anything? What about the traffic cams?"The voice on the other end was apologetic. "It was rush hour. No one was paying attention to the sidewalk. That section of road's a blind spot for cameras—nothing caught the incident.""There were a few parked cars nearby, but none had dashcams. We checked the jewelry store's camera at the corner, but it was partially blocked. Didn't catch the important parts

  • The Billionaire Regret After My Goodbye   A Race Against Blood and Time

Kane's POVMy voice was raw. "What did you just say? She only has forty minutes?!"I grabbed Frank by the collar, rage flooding every vein in my body. My hands were shaking, and my eyes—if they weren't on fire, they sure as hell felt like it.Frank gently tapped my wrist. "Kane, you need to calm down and listen—""Calm down?" I cut him off with a growl. "Are you telling me she's going to be dead in forty minutes?!"I couldn't say the word. Dead. It was like a blade stuck in my throat. Just thinking it made me sick.Frank exhaled slowly. "I told you from the beginning—her condition is critical."My fists clenched so tightly I could hear my knuckles crack. My vision blurred with rage and fear. The nurse stepped forward. Her voice was small, but every word stabbed me clean through the chest. "We've contacted every blood bank. Dr. Gemma is still reaching out, but there's been no match so far. We...we don't know what else to do."No. No, no, no.I let out a roar and kicked a nearby trash b

  • The Billionaire Regret After My Goodbye   Hemorrhage

Kane's POVBy the time we reached the hospital, I saw Frank standing with a group of doctors just outside the OR. His face was dark—like a thunderstorm ready to break."Where is she?" I rushed up, nearly out of breath. The doctors turned to look at us, their expressions grim.My heart nearly stopped."It's that serious?" I could barely get the words out. My chest tightened like a vice.Frank waved the doctors off and glanced at Baron, who immediately took the hint and found an excuse to leave."Internal bleeding. It's critical," Frank said, keeping his voice as steady as he could—but the worry in his eyes said more than his words ever could."There's more, isn't there?" I stared at him, unwilling to accept that was the full story. He hesitated, then placed a firm hand on my shoulder."Kane...I know how much she means to you. But you need to stay calm."My stomach dropped. Something was very wrong."What is it?" I demanded."She's JK (a-b-), a rare Kidd blood type."The words didn't re

  • The Billionaire Regret After My Goodbye   The Crash

Aria's POVI pushed myself up from the couch, my legs wobbling beneath me. My ears were ringing so loudly it felt like the world was spinning off its axis. I was seconds away from throwing up.And just in time to hear Edric call me a "corporate spy."I laughed—an eerie, bitter sound that even made me shiver."Have you ever seen a ‘corporate spy' like me?" I sneered, locking eyes with him, all the hope in mine long since drained. "I was just your shield. A disposable pawn."I grabbed my suitcase for support and dragged myself forward. As I passed him, I shot him a smile—sharp and venomous. He flinched. Actually flinched. And stepped back."What the hell are you doing, Aria?" he barked, his face pale. "Are you trying to make a scene?"My voice was soft, almost gentle. "I've never caused a scene in my life."I turned away and faced the rest of the office, raising my voice just enough to reach every ear."Why couldn't we close the ATTA contract? Edric, shouldn't you be the one explaining

  • The Billionaire Regret After My Goodbye   The Fight

Aria's POVThe moment I stepped off the plane, I called Marvin. But all I got was a robotic voice: "The number you have dialed is currently outside the service area."No time to think. I didn't even drop off my luggage—just jumped into a cab and headed straight to ACE.On the way, I scoured the news for anything on ACE—scandals, financial problems, PR crises—but nothing significant had made the headlines. But the moment I walked into ACE's headquarters, the shift in atmosphere was palpable.Cold stares. Whispered hostility."Is that Aria?""How does she have the nerve to come back?""Seriously, what a joke. She bailed on us when things got hard—now she wants back in? After all the damage she caused?"I clenched the handle of my suitcase and walked toward Emma's office, ignoring the voices cutting into me like blades.Once I closed her door behind me, it was like I could finally breathe again."Emma, what the hell happened?" I demanded. She looked at me with a mixture of exhaustion and

  • The Billionaire Regret After My Goodbye   Cutting Ties

Kane's POVThe moment I landed, I headed straight to the office—I didn't even stop by home. The entire flight, I'd been holding it in. It felt like a searing piece of iron had lodged itself in my chest, burning hotter by the second."Baron, get in here!" I kicked open the office door and flung my suit jacket onto the couch. I didn't even wait for him to knock. The second he stepped inside, I barked, "Tell ACE that Aria left without warning. From this moment on, all collaboration between ATTA and them is officially terminated."I spat out each word like venom, eyes burning with the image of her standing in that run-down courtyard, looking at me like I was a stranger—cold, detached, saying "I don't know him."Just thinking about it made the rage boil over. I grabbed the glass on my desk and hurled it at the wall.Crash.Glass shattered, shards scattering everywhere.Baron flinched, but he kept that same bootlicking calm on his face. "Sir, the contracts with ACE are already drafted. The
