When Sophia opened her eyes later, she saw some people were taking pictures and she was surprised that there were people standing by to ask her questions. She found herself raised to a sitting position but was having a panting headache.

Her mind went blank and her tongue glued to the roof of her mouth. Momentarily, she doesn't know what was happening at first.

“You're awake miss, why did you attempt to kidnap the young master of the Asher family?” A journalist asked.

Sophia glared on, not knowing what happened. She glanced around and saw men standing by fiercely with a freezing gaze.

“You knew young master Amil Amstel is the heir of that family and you decided to kidnap him. How much were you promised to be given when you brought him?” Another journalist asked.

“You're a kidnapper but you couldn't get away with it”

“Beauty but a beast. Luck has run out against you”

“Isn't this the daughter of the Shawn family, the bad egg of her family who got pregnant out of wedlock having been promiscuous from childhood….”

All of those words seemed to eventually get to Sophia and she snapped out of her semi unconscious state.

The boy! Where is he, is he safe? What happened? The ladder, then the rope and how it gave way, the sudden speedy movement downwards and then…

And then what, what happened? Her head hurt and she held it painfully. She passed out and the boy? She wanted to get off, ignoring the stupid people questioning her, who knows next to nothing about her or what happened.

But her ankle hurts and she remembered her hurting ankle, hence she sat back. More character assassinating questions were thrown at her.

The wedding was now over, Sophia didn't know how long she'd fainted as the Shawn family alongside other invited guests stepped. They saw a crowd gathered.

Not interested in the crowd, Beny Shawn hugged her classy daughter. She's so proud of Diana. She's the daughter any woman would dream of having in her next life and over.

“I love you mummy,” Diana confessed, holding hands with Kabir, her fiance. She's so blessed now. She's doing well as an actress and her parents are the best in the world.

Now she's engaged to Kabir, her prince charming and has always been the cherished one. Her life is beautiful and fulfilling.

Dekunle Shawn was happy. He was having a last minute conversation when one of the men said “Isn't that your daughter, Dekunle?”

Beny was close enough to hear it. She froze. She glanced in the direction the guest pointed. She hates it when people point to that filth as her daughter. How could she be so jinxed to conceive that evil seed in her belly and birth it as a child?

Despite a few years having passed, it seemed just like yesterday when her promiscuous lifestyle almost ruined their relationship and business deal with Kabir Jamil's family.

Both Dekunle and everyone standing by glanced in the direction where the man pointed, it's the same spot where those crowds had gathered.

“Take her away, she's a kidnapper. Her family wouldn't even associate with her. She's a characterless woman, she should be jailed…”

Dekunle felt a gush of adrenaline run down his spine. What has Sophia gotten herself into again, having just stepped out of the blues? Why is this girl getting into one terrible mischief or the other?

“Get into the car quickly, Diana and you Kabir. That girl's evil vibes should not rob on you..” Beny urged, hurrying Kabir into the car.

It was at that instant that Kabir saw her. His ex-fiance! Sophia has stepped out of her hiding after five years? And she has to do it on his wedding day?

Diana quickly hurried into Kabir's newest model of Bentley and shut the door. Seeing her beloved daughter and her husband was safely seated in the car, Beny wanted to slide into the car when she saw someone pointed at her.

“That's her mother and her father. She's the daughter of the Shawn family. She's the young Miss of that family…”

Beny hates being called Sophia's mother. She gnashed her teeth, seeing how ruffled her hair had become and off course she was now bare footed, and made to sit on the floor.

She has lost face before the guests. She'd tried to ruin Diana's wedding, she had her dragged out, gave her two brain resetting slaps and had her locked up somewhere.

How on earth could she have predicted that the evil aura has come upon her again and she crawled out to kidnap someone?

The journalists hearing such words, turned in the direction of her parents and started coming towards them.

All the friends and guests standing by Dekunle quickly excused themselves and the couple were left alone in utmost embarrassment.

“Sir, your daughter just added another title to herself, a kidnapper” someone mocked. He could see Dekunle gaze fixed on his daughter.

“She's not a kidnapper. What evidence do you have against her?” Dekunle snapped at the imbecile. No matter what happens to Sophia, she's still his daughter.

“Wait until the Asher family takes up the case against you. She kidnapped the youngest son of the Asher family and was escaping with him when luck ran against her…”

“What, Asher family?” Dekunle exclaimed. The strongest family in Hilltown city?

“What?” Beny exclaimed, turning to glance at her husband. What has Sophia done this time? Being away had turned her into a hardened criminal?

In fear and fury, Beny Shawn snatched the microphone from the nearby journalist and declared “I Beny Shawn, on behalf of my husband and I, hereby announced that we have no daughter that is called Sophia.

Diana Shawn is our daughter and besides her, we are not in any way related to that criminal called Sophia. She sprung up from the gutters to dent our family's name and reputation…”

A sudden silence descended on everyone present. Sophia heard her and she sneered non challantly. What use is it to her, being a member of that family?

She'd only experience pain and rejection from her. Opening severing ties with her, was only helping her to erase them completely from her mind and consciousness.

Amidst that silence, a path was created and a certain man, tall and elegant man clad in Tuxedo and a custom made leather shoes walked amidst his bodyguards towards her. His presence created a more serene atmosphere and a compressing aura.

He wore a dark shade and his appearance screams of wealth and Class. As he stood, towering over the woman on the floor coldly, he sneered. A feeling of hatred surged within him.

"You attempted to kidnap my son, I'll make you pay!" he declared.

Amil shivered. The sight of blood scares him, and the echoes of the gunshots kept resounding in his ears and just like that, he couldn't say anything again. He just stood motionless at a spot. He wasn't blinking, he wasn't crying, his mind went blank. His grandma ran over and carried him , placing his head on her shoulders. The other activities were left to the securities to handle as Stan's chauffeur drove out of the Asher's estate. Stan held Sophia's head placing it against his torso. “Hold on Sophia, don't give up” Stan mumbled, urging the chauffeur to step on the accelerator and move faster. He is really worried, one of the bullets hit her in her side stomach and the second on her thighs. He's worried about the one that hit the stomach. It's dangerous and she's bleeding profusely. She saved Amil, it's evident. If the shooter aimed at her, it would have been her head or chest. But because she shielded Amil and turned him swiftly, the bullet met her.

Dekunle Shawn simply stepped aside and watched as the car zoomed off. Sophia just placed her head on the back rest and closed her eyes. Stan Asher came to her rescue. She'd heard how he talked to that man, that was supposed to be her father and he couldn't retort back at him. She'd learnt something. Sometimes getting angry and talking from a furious side doesn't help sometimes. Stan was calm and with gentility, he was dishing the words out to him. She didn't expect that he would defend her this way. In the past, he thought badly of her. But now, it appears he now believes that she's not the way he'd thought she was. It has come to that point where an outsider now defends her. An outsider sees her and knows the whole situation more than those who claim to be related to her. “Where were you in the past five years?” Stan asked, glancing at her briefly and looking away. Her father mentioned it and he knows she wasn't within Hilltown city before she was hir

Dekunle Shawn couldn't retort back at his daughter. How can she be so annoying? He'd come to talk to her about something, but before then,he needed to scold her first. “You've grown more disrespectful as the day passes. I sometimes wonder if you have my blood in your veins. You do things without considering the feelings of the other person affected? When did you become so weird? You disappeared from this city and your return was welcome with a scandal,a putrifying attitude. I was going to ask how you've been able to make Stan Asher forgive you and got into his company as an actress. Who's going to be interested in a movie that you are featured in? You are a characterless woman and I don't know where to keep my face if I'm pointed to as your father. If only you know the ruin the company will experience because of featuring you in its movie, they would never have attempted it. And now,you schemed against Diana? What has that girl done to you? How can you not acc

Kabir wouldn't let her go and Sophia raised her other hand to slap him,he dodged it and let her go “I said I'm sorry Sophia. Please forgive me. I couldn't sleep from the day I learnt the truth about that night. I lost my peace and nothing seemed to be working out well for me. All I need from you is forgiveness. Please forgive me” he pleaded, feeling really remorseful. “Forgive you on what? That you call me a promiscuous bitch and a cheat? Or is it based on the fact that you referred to me as a betrayer? You should have believed me but you didn't. You chose what you wanted. You went after what your filthy weak heart flaunts before you. You didn't believe me despite knowing me for years before anyone else in Hilltown city does. You went after Diana and fucked her. Shouldn't you think of another woman to fuck if you want to retaliate? Should it be that same woman that schemed against me and framed me? Then without remorse, you made love to her under the same roof th

“Oh really?” Sophia chimed and stood up. She was almost done having her lunch but because of the excitement, she couldn't really eat much. So hearing that someone was there to see her,she found a convenient excuse to step aside. It's Gabriel. He'd promised to stop by and cheer her up. She stepped out and saw a certain fellow standing with his back to her and she sneered. Even in her dreamland, she would recognize his back view. She glanced around further and didn't see Gabriel nor her Aunt. She turned around and was going to leave. Kabir Jamil, turned his back against the entrance of the guest house. He doesn't want to see her face immediately when she steps out, because his conscience hasn't been at ease for many days now. And when he perceived that someone came out, he knew she must be the one. He sighed softly and stilled his heart. Turning himself to glance at her,he saw that she was going back already and he quickly called her name. “Hello Sophie” Kabir

He had spent days thinking this over and over. Will Sophia be different from Diana, will she be ready to help her brother? “What about Craig? Is he alright, is he okay?” Sophia asked hurriedly. What happened to him, such a quiet easy brother she'd got. “Nothing bad dear. Two years ago, he was offered admission to study medicine. We couldn't afford the tuition fees and we asked Diana to assist us with whatever she could. She blatantly refused to help, saying she doesn't know us. I sent a message to you as well, but you never replied. So he couldn't go to school for two years now. But your mother and I have been saving all we could and this year he was offered admission again. We've managed to raise the tuition fees but we don't have anything else to support him with his accomodation and feeding. That's why I have called you. Can you speak with your parents to hire him for a part time job while schooling? He could work as a gardener, a cleaner or security so
