Chapter 1

Early in the Friday morning when Dylan Medina Cohen woke up with an unsettling pain from his back. Waking up in such good weather but in bad shape, he became independent at eighteen years old—a young boy unequipped with life's survival experiences. Life is so hard that he needed to go with John to survive and find some extra works.

He sits down on the bedside then wears his slipper before washing his face. His beautiful and porcelain skin says it all—a pretty and healthy boy when staring in the mirror. The water running from the faucet is ice-cold-making him feel a jolting sensation.

The feeling that he senses is the signal of having a new life again and waking to pass the crap apartment he lives in with his best friend, John Cruz. He sat down at the dining table, and his friend is at the bar cleaning the goblets with a fine white cloth.

There is an absurd rumor about a lurking billionaire in town, inside John's bar where he goes as a low-key person.

He smells the aroma of the coffee, and he is blooming. "I am always amazed seeing your reaction like that in the morning," John said as he pours the hot water and walks to Dylan.

John is a twenty-seven years old man … they grew in the same community. They both leave their life to gamble with fate. John Cruz is a lucky person; he owned a gay bar known in the city. John offered a coffee and bread in the morning. On the other hand, Dylan is happy with his simple life, but he can't stop thinking of having a prosperous life.

He sips some coffee, but his hand is halted near his mouth. "What is the matter?" asked John. Dylan put down the bread and sighed his worries away, "I didn't pass the evaluation for the V company yesterday."

John left speechless and take the broom beneath him. Dylan is somewhat disappointed in himself because he wanted to prove something when leaving his family to work in the city." I wish I were lucky like you," he said to his best friend, and John abruptly smiled. The brows of Dylan furrowed as his friend has a brilliant idea." Why should you get yourself a boyfriend--"

His words are interrupted when Dylan spits the coffee by accident. He was coughing when he heard the crazy idea of his best friend. Dylan snorted and grumbled, "are you crazy?! I am straight!"

A light chuckle is heard from John, and he approaches the table, "look at you?! You don't want to work with me in my gay bar. You were always making yourself a burden to be the 'bread winner' thing!"

"You have it all … a porcelain skin, white teeth, a beautiful smile, a healthy body, decent height, and big—" John added but didn't continue and left Dylan with an unwillingness expression drawn onto his face.

John continues his work and goes back to the bar. He left his friend eating at the dinner table while putting some new ordered beers from his client into the cooler. He speaks again, "lately there is a handsome man … I think he is working in the V company." Dylan whines when he says non-sense again, "the hell I care about that--" he stopped, also reminiscing the failed evaluation.

His friend knows his pain because his ego is being hurt when they leave that life before they promise to go back with pride to themselves.

"I don't even finish my freaking study in college; how can I pass the interview--"John cut his words, "do you know what to do? My client last time give me a hint about what to do," he said, and the ears of Dylan tings in desperation. He is listening to his best friend that is putting the beers. In John's life, he met countless people because of his work, but it doesn't go with Dylan." The middle child is a playboy, and my client said to me," the face of him deemed and disgusted.

"Pft! The hell making an affair with the executives?" John rushed to the table and slapped it in front of his friend. "THAT'S IT!" John shouted out of his excitement. "There is a hope inside of that company! And you know what? He gave that lady permission to work inside of V!"

"There is a rumor that the man is always going to my bar. He is so handsome and freaking rich! I don't know what his afflation to the V company is," John added, making him more curious about it.

John cannot draw the face of Dylan when he finished talking. He sighed and pat his shoulder, "I-I'm sorry if I offended you … but this is what I know, I am gay, and I know you are still confused."

Dylan received a text from his evil auntie. [DYLAN! SEND US MONEY WE NEED IT RIGHT NOW!]

His morning is so stressful. John immediately noticed it, "is it your evil aunt again?' Dylan is helpless, and then the only thing he knew is to hold his hair and grip it." Can you lend me money?" he asked at John. The poor one doesn't have any choice but to give him. John opened his hand and closed it together.

"How long will you be like this?" his friend asked, but Dylan just sighed." I will get it back to you after," he replied.

LATER in the night, John is busy in his bar, and Dylan cannot sleep because of the loud music in the front of the house. He goes to the bar and watches the crowd from above. A shout caught his attention, "DYLAN!" the voice came from a distance, and he looked at it.

It is his other friend Paul that has been partying since he is accepted from the V company. Paul is the hunter of boyfriends, and he is also encouraging Dylan to have one-- but the mentality of the other one is not suggesting that kind of action, thinking his closet gender.

"Yo, what's up?" he smiled as he nudged Dylan while Paul carries a bottle of cold water in both hands. "Want some?" he offered, and the pretty boy accepted it wholeheartedly.

Paul shouted from above, and the crowd joins him! He is laughing beside him, then patted the back of the quiet friend. He is clenching his jaws and asks Dylan, "thinking deep again?"

Another gulp from the bottle and he uttered his reply, "unfortunately … I got rejected in my first attempt entering the V company." A gloomy expression and aura are emitting from his body.

Who wouldn't be rejecting an eighteen-year-old man that is reluctant about changes?

Paul chuckled, "Hey, look at that person with a woman," pointing to the broad body guy at the front bar. Dylan blinks twice when seeing the back of the man that is chatting. He narrowed his eyes, and the man turned his direction at them.

He is surprised at how charming he is, and from his aura, he is such a rich guy! That cloth is what he wanted to buy from a boutique inside the mall in the city!

"See? That is a heck of a guy!" Paul is a hype about him and skiling from afar. Dylan is annoyed and knocks the back of his head. He scratches it and laughs a little bit, "how about your girlfriend--"

"We broke up yesterday," he replied emotionless, Dylan sealed his lips tightly and even feels guilty hearing it out from him. He watches many people from above every day, but that man caught his attention, but he snapped out from his delusions.

" Confuse?" a tough question escaped from the mouth of Paul while he is looking at the dance floor.

"He is Luke, one of the V company employees," he added without saying any hint to the innocent boy. John looked in his direction and wave as he is signaling him to go down with Paul. The two go down and sit in front of the bar.

Coming out from Paul, he is abruptly lying. He whispered to Dylan, "there is a humor that the man is here, and he is looking for a boyfriend. Good luck."

Paul excuses himself after seating, "I will leave you here, make sure you can get a business card from him since he handles the business cards to invite new workers," he whispered again and then left Dylan hanging.

The pretty boy looked in Luke's direction while he is chatting with a woman inside this gay bar. He doesn't notice that he is staring for too long-- John, while cleaning the bar, detected his best friend looking at the guy on the other side.

Paul slapped the table, and Dylan snapped out in shock. It holds his chest out of the nervousness he felt. The music is loud, just like his heartbeat, especially when looking at Luke on the other side.

"Don't tell me you are--"

"Hell no!" he defended himself, but the two go out from his sight, and Dylan nearly slap him. John keeps on laughing in front of him. "Just help me out! Bring this to that table, pretty boy … will this be the night that you will catch a goldfish?" The sarcastic voice of his best friend is making his face flustered.

He walks up to the other table and brings the bucket of beer.

The other gays are so excited about him, some are approaching, but he doesn't care. The crowd is hot, and the ventilation is not adequate this time. He is now dripping in sweat because of these people. A gay goes to him, and it looks creamy. John gradually disappears from him and lets the two talk.

Dylan is observing, and then John generously offered a drink. "What you want to order?" with his flirty voice--the goosebump of Dylan is crawling from his head down to his feet. He didn't have a gist of the situation, and the gay keeps on asking him." Are you single? You look so good wanna hang out together--"Dylan rudely stood, and John is shocked by his action. "Sorry, I have to go … I have work tomorrow," he meanly retorted and then walked away.

This mind is a mess with all of the texts received from his family. Dylan doesn't know where to place himself in this cruel and miserable world.

Passing through the crowd-- he also doesn't know where to go this time around. It feels like out of nearly hundreds of people every day here at the bar of his best friend … he is still alone in this world, without a genuine smile on his face.

That rumor is ridiculous, and this a gay bar—how come some ladies are going in here lately? Isn't it right that man here?

He dreamt of being rich, but that dream remains untouched and impossible to achieve. His feet bring him to the comfort room where he needs to wash his face. Dylan can't move his body, and the person inside stopped as the door opened.

His eyes widen when a man rushes to wash his lips at the faucet, and those grey eyes looked at him. Dylan's heart is throbbing when seeing Luke's grey eyes inside the comfort room. His stare didn't care and supposedly leaving when getting his purpose. He walks straight to Dylan and even stops to give him a cold sneer.

Those eyes are scary, but he snapped out when Luke nudges his shoulder and then walked away. A business card is on the dry floor. Dylan Cohen immediately picks it up goes then outside, panting. Slowly a gentle smile is appearing on his porcelain face.

After the night, Dylan goes to his friend John that is cleaning the bar. "Hey?!" he shouted from afar, but the other one is busy cleaning.

The pretty boy clutches to his shoulder, and John is startled! It is so unusual for him to be in this such mood. "What is your problem?" John asked with a little confusion.

Dylan is smiling such a little kiddo. .. he didn't know what the real challenges awaiting him is.

"Nothing, I just get a tip from a customer!" he shouted to him, and the eyes of John widen because they need to divide it, and this pretty boy is cheating.

"I need this for tomorrow!"
