Chapter 38

TRISTIAN'S POV

After making sure that Ciara was nowhere near my home, I remained in my room for hours, weighing the weight of my decision and wondering if I had done the right thing.

I was still in shock. The news had hit me so hard that even going back to the FCC office was a chore. I could understand the hatred coming from Daniels and Julian, but Ciara? Somebody that I had already imagined a future with?

It was unbelievable, it hurt me in the most painful way, and I sat on the bed, staring at the ceiling.

My mother came in a few moments later bearing a tray that contained a cake and barbecue chicken wings on it. There was sauce by the side, and even though the food was enticing, I felt tired and too exhausted to eat. This was what Ciara had done to me, this was what she had turned me into.

“Tristian? What happened?”

I refused to look at her, wondering what telling her was going to change. Was she going to be able to minimize the hurt? Was she going to be able to fill in the vacant
