Elizabeth woke up when the day had already turned to late afternoon. Sleeping in such a luxurious room, with the calming chill from the air conditioner, made her rest feel incredibly deep.

She only then realized that she was now covered with a thick blanket—though when she had fallen asleep, she hadn’t used one at all.

Who had covered her?

“Miss, you’re awake?” came a gentle voice from her right.

Elizabeth turned her head and saw a middle-aged woman standing near the wardrobe. The woman wore a maid’s uniform, though in a color different from the others.

“Yes, Ma’am,” Elizabeth replied politely, offering a faint smile.

“Just call me Aunt Eli,” the woman said warmly.

“All right, Aunt,” Elizabeth answered, watching as Aunt Eli carefully arranged the clothes inside the wardrobe.

She slowly sat up and glanced at the wall clock. Her eyes widened in shock.

It was already three in the afternoon.

“Aunt Eli, is it really afternoon already?” she asked in panic, rubbing her face.
