Maria’s POV.

My pulse stuttered. “You… you can’t do what?” I whispered.

“Pretend.” His eyes locked on mine, his green burning. “Pretend I don’t want to kiss you. Pretend I don’t want to rip that sexy dress off your body. Pretend I don’t want to drain every bit of strength from you while I take you… until you can’t breathe without me.”

My breath caught.

“It’s killing me, sitting here, acting like I don’t want to take you home- our home- like I don’t want to fall asleep with your scent all over me.” His voice dropped lower, rawer. “You have to help me out here, M. I’m losing my mind.”

“Elias…” My voice broke into a whimper. My fists balled in my dress, my heartbeat slamming against my ribs.

“Just say the word,” he murmured, almost pleading now. “And I’ll do it. Anything you want.”

Heat swirled low in my belly, my thighs pressing together instinctively. Every cell in my body screamed yes, but my lips betrayed me.

“We still have a lot to settle,” I whispered, hating t

  • The Billionaire’s Deaf Wife   Chapter 48: Taking Responsibility

MARIAElias looked ready to throttle Damon, but surely he knew, my heart belonged to him.I wasn’t surprised to see Damon coming in with my husband, though it left me confused. To the media, they were enemies, constantly painted as rivals. But I knew better. I knew Damon considered Elias a friend, and I also knew Damon harbored a crush on me.He was handsome, tall, muscled, and perfectly cut in that suit. His brown hair, always left slightly tousled as if he couldn’t be bothered to comb it, somehow suited him. His brows were thick and commanding, his skin tanned, his nose straight and sharp, and his mouth fitted with the kind of ease that looked sculpted rather than grown. If he ever got tired of running a company, he could have walked down a runway without effort. But still, he didn’t hold a candle to Elias. And this wasn’t me being biased. Elias was called the most sought-after businessman for a reason, and much of it had to do with his devastating looks.Damon sprawled into a seat

ELIAS“Not even one week into your promotion and you are already leaving flies in your wake, Moreno,” Boris hissed into the phone, his voice sharp enough to cut glass. “I must say, you are a very popular man.”“I have it under control,” I deadpanned, my tone flat as ice.“Oh, I’m sure you do.” He chuckled, low and mocking. “I just hope you’ll have things under control when Ballard requests a meeting with the members.”He didn’t wait for me to reply before the line went dead, the abrupt silence gnawing at the edges of my already frayed temper.Enough grace had been given to Lucia, and still she tested me, dragging my name, my reputation, and worse, my wife, through the mud. I couldn’t even begin to imagine what Maria was feeling, but the thought of her humiliation only fanned the fire already roaring in my chest.Lucia was relentless, I would give her that. But what she didn’t know was this; you didn’t make an enemy of me. That was the gravest mistake she had ever made. And I was going

Maria’s POVI woke much earlier than Elias, which almost never happened. He was always up before me, out and about, as if sleep was something he could afford to waste. Yesterday must have drained him, though, because he lay beside me now, sleeping deeply. I watched him in silence, my heart fluttering at the sight, this was the first time I had ever seen him so vulnerable. He looked almost boyish, soft in the quiet, his lips full and pouty, his brows drawn together even in rest. Cute, Isaac cute. It was almost impossible to reconcile this image with the man I knew: billionaire, cold, untouchable… and bound to the mafia. The truth I’d learned yesterday still sat heavy inside me. I couldn’t shake the horror of what Elias had endured as a child. It was terrifying, heartbreaking, nauseating all at once. And yet, part of me felt relieved. One layer of the enigma had peeled away. My husband was a puzzle, but at least I had started to fit the pieces together. He stirred, lips parting, and I

MARIAElias didn’t look pleased that I had stopped him. He looked ready to throw my father across the restaurant, but he didn’t. Instead, he placed his palm over mine on his thigh. The contact sent a jolt of electricity through me, and then he pinned my father with a cold, steady stare.“I understand where you’re coming from, Mr. Robert,” my husband said, his tone calm but firm. “But your daughter is right here. She has no reason to cover for me if I were guilty of cheating.”If my husband’s calm words shocked my parents, they didn’t show it. My father looked flustered, though. Maybe he had been bracing for a fight, and Elias refused to give him one. I glanced at my mother, and she gave me a small, reassuring smile.I tried to pull my hand away from Elias’s thigh, but he caught it and held me tighter. I turned to him in confusion, but my father’s voice pulled me back.“Mari,” he said, his eyes sharp. “Is that true? Is he really not cheating on you?”My heart sank. The truth was, I was

MARIA“How did you even find out I was bullied?” I asked softly, my voice still hazy with sleep. We were sprawled out on his bed, skin warm and sticky, both of us naked and exhausted from the night’s chaos. My fingers lazily tangled in his damp hair, tugging and ruining that clean Ivy League cut he always wore. Elias had his head pillowed against my chest, right between my breasts, like he belonged there.“The same way I found out you were a twin,” he answered curtly, voice rumbling against my skin.I hesitated before asking, “Did you… hurt them?” My heart pounded faster, loud enough I knew he could hear it beneath his ear.Elias stilled. His movements stopped, and for a long moment he didn’t say anything. Then he lifted his head, those sharp eyes locking on me with a weight that made my chest tighten.“Did you want me to?” he asked instead.I froze.Memories hit me like waves, the whispers, the laughter, the cruel words. The way their taunts had pushed me into silence, made my heari

MARIA “Oh God.” Elias pressed harder against my clit causing me to see stars. I gripped him tightly, fingers clutching every hard part of him for my dear life. Before I could comprehend what he was doing, he was plunging, not one, not two but three fingers into my wet hole. “Oh Elias. Oh.” I moaned Elias caught my lips again in a sloppy kiss as he finger fucked me into oblivion. Seconds later I was orgasming so hard, my hips following the movement of his fingers as I chased my orgasm. Elias released me and picked me up like a rag doll. He dumped me on the bed while I laid watching him. He pulled his shirt slowly, his eyes never straying from me or my throbbing pussy, I spread my legs wider for more effect and Elias groaned loudly. “Look at that pretty pussy. Glistening for me.” He cooed. I sat upright and pulled my shirt over my head, my breast bouncing free and causing Elias to tsk. He pried his shirt away and I couldn’t help the moan that left my lips at his bod
