Elizabeth’s Point of View:

"Elizabeth, can I speak with you?" Laura said, walking into the kitchen where I was making my morning tea.

Her voice was calm—almost too calm—and polite. I didn't even know she knew my name. I turned, surprised, and stared at her. There was a sincere look in her eyes, and for a moment, I wondered if I imagined it.

“Sure,” I replied, setting the spoon down and turning to face her fully. Since Richard's warning, I’d done my best to avoid her and Lilly. I didn’t want to be the reason he followed through on a threat like that.

"I know we got off on the wrong foot, and I’m sorry," Laura began, catching me completely off guard. Her words sounded genuine. I narrowed my eyes slightly, as though testing her with some internal lie detector.

"It's just... it hasn't been easy seeing Richard move on,” she continued. “I always thought maybe one day we’d get back together. I love him—so much—but I understand now that he loves you, not me."

She looked down briefly, then met

  • The Billionaire's Deal    Chapter 116

Richard’s Point of View:"Please hold on, sir, while I talk to the morgue technician," the officer said, pointing to a chair in the waiting area at the police station.I nodded and sat down, my legs tapping against the floor without me thinking about it. My mind was moving faster than my body, looping through the same thoughts. I told myself not to let it wander, but it kept drifting there anyway."Poor Laura," I muttered under my breath. If my heart felt this heavy, I could only imagine hers — three years raising our daughter, only to lose her like this. Then I thought of Elizabeth. This would crush her too. The trauma she was already going through, I could almost see her spiraling.I glanced at the clock. It felt like I’d been sitting there for hours. Did the detective fall asleep? Why was he taking so long? The more minutes passed, the harder it was to stop my mind from going places. I thought about what it would mean losing Lily again. The thought made my chest tighten.Suddenly m

Elizabeth's Point of view: “Move and I shoot,” the man said, pressing the barrel harder against my head.My heart skipped, Beads of sweat slid down my temple. He extended his hand toward me. “The phone.”I swallowed, nodding slowly.“Liz? What’s going on? Liz?” Vivian’s voice panicked in my ear.I pulled the phone away, hesitating for half a second before handing it to him. He glanced at it once, then threw it to the floor and crushed it under his boot. The crack of breaking plastic and glass made me flinch. Pieces scattered across the dusty ground. Before I could move, he grabbed my arms, yanking me to my feet.“Don’t try anything funny,” he said, cocking the gun for me to hear. “Move.”I did exactly what he said, my legs stiff and shaky. He pushed me forward, guiding me into the building.Inside, Laura was standing right in the middle of what looked like a living room — the smell of coffee in the air, curtains drawn, furniture neat. A satisfied smile curved on her lips.“You fell

Elizabeth's Point of view:“What!” My heart stopped. My chest tightened, and hot tears began to slip down my cheeks, faster than I could wipe them away."It can't be" I muttered as I shot to my feet, grabbing my robe, following Richard as he began walking out of the room. My legs felt shaky, but I didn’t slow down, keeping my eyes on his back as he walked quickly down the hallway. He didn’t even glance at me — he went straight to Laura’s door and pushed it open.I stopped by the door, leaning by the wall, my heart pounding, my mind racing.“The police found something…” I heard Richard say and Laura broke down, her crying cut through the air “It can’t be… not my Lily! Not my baby!”Her voice cracked, the sound so raw it made my throat ache. She sobbed and wailed like the world had ended, and for a moment, I almost believed her. Would she really let her daughter die?Richard murmured something I couldn’t make out — gentle words meant to calm her. After a minute, the sound of her sobs

  • The Billionaire's Deal    Chapter 113

Elizabeth’s point of viewThree days laterIt had been three days. Three whole days — and still no ransom call, no message, no word from the kidnappers. It was driving me crazy. It was driving all of us crazy.Richard had managed to trace the getaway van, but by the time they got there, it was nothing but a burnt shell, abandoned in the middle of nowhere. No fingerprints, no plates, nothing to hold onto.My suspicions about Laura were stronger than ever. The more I pieced things together, the more it made sense — why she would do it, how Lily’s kidnapping had somehow gotten her closer to Richard. They were suddenly a team. Visiting the station together. Standing side by side at press conferences, where she faked tears, begging the kidnappers to “please return my daughter” and promising they would “pay any price.”And Richard… Richard felt the need to be there for her. To console her. Every time I tried to raise a concern, I sounded like the selfish, cold-hearted woman who didn’t care

Elizabeth's point of view: I stared at her, my heart racing as I wondered what to do — confront her, ask her why? I watched as she finished talking, lowering the phone with a proud smile. This woman was truly the devil. She turned towards me and I ducked, backing away from the hallway and rushing back to the room.I got into the room to find Richard, eyes red, swollen, just surfing.“Richard!” I called out almost immediately. He looked up at me, narrowing his eyes as I scrambled to find the words.“I know who took Lilly!” I blurted — the only words I could manage.Richard shot to his feet. “Really?” he asked, gripping my arms, and I nodded.“Laura! Laura took her,” I said, and I immediately felt his grip loosen. He blinked, disbelief clouding his eyes.“What are you talking about?” Richard asked, and I nodded again.“I heard her. She was talking to the kidnappers on the balcony.” I tried to explain, but I could see it — Richard didn’t believe me.“Elizabeth,” he said, taking a slow s

Elizabeth's point of view: My eyes darted around, my heart tightening. I couldn’t make sense of what had just happened. For a second, everything blurred.“What did you do? Where is Lilly?” Laura ran toward me, tugging at my top.I stared at her, guilt flooding my chest.“You let them take her… You gave them my baby!”I shook my head, trying to speak, but no words came out. My hands trembled as I tried to take her grip off me.“My baby!” she cried, her voice breaking as her grip weakened. She fell to the ground, sobbing.I just stood there, frozen, my chest tightening like a boulder had been dropped on it. The world spun around me. This wasn’t happening. This couldn’t be happening. Then, with shaking fingers, I pulled out my phone and called the only person I could think of.“Richard!” I stuttered the moment he answered. Tears were already slipping down my cheeks.“Lizzie?” His voice firm, concern"" “Is everything okay?”“Lilly…” My voice broke. “Lilly has been kidnapped.”There was s
