Tap!
"Thea," he moaned as he kissed her jaw.
She tapped her chest twice trying to calm her unsteady heart. It wasn't even an hour away from when he left and she was thinking about him again.
Hypocrite!
She package the lunch she had just prepared for her mother before walking down to the sitting room to grab the keys. Her eyes lingered on the couch where Ashton had spent the night for quite sometime.
She honestly felt no need to tell him that he didn't just appear at her door and begged to spend the night. He didn't just lay down on the couch and pass out due to fatigue either. They actually kissed, made out and almost had sex last night.
Thea bit her lips at the thought of last night. She had lesser sleep and did a lot of thinking instead. What was he thinking about when he came knocking at her door when he had friends
"I think I remember the name of the man,"Samuel hesitated before knocking on the door for the second time. The door finally opened, revealing the same woman he had rejected."You came back," she said to him and he frowned."Trust me it wasn't my intention," he muttered to himself and she raised a brow in curiosity. "Well can I come in?"Her reply was to leave the door ajar and walk in. She folded her hands under her breast as her fingers tapped on her elbow, nervously."Why did you come back? Didn't you find out who it was?" She forced a smile. He seemed to notice this nervousness. He planted his hands into his pocket and gave her a reply. "No, I didn't. That's why I'm here." He said to her.She nodded in understanding. "Is that the only reason why you came?" She asked with the little hope."Should there be any other reason?" He asked with his brow raised in confusion. She sucked in a breath before clearing her throat."Dawn-""Zachary Phillips" She said to him. "His name is Zachary,
Flipping through the pages of the file he held at hand, he read. It was once again, a Monday morning and paperwork began. He was drinking the remaining warm coffee left in the cup when he heard a knock on the door."Come in,""You sent for me sir," Samuel said to him."Yes I did. I need you to give Mr. Peterson a call. Remind him of his meeting with me by 10am sharp.""Yes sir, any other thing sir?" Samuel asked. "Nothing-" another knock sounded."Enter!" He called and Fiona walked up to him."I sent for my secretary, not you Miss Weston.""She hasn't signed in yet sir,""What do you mean she hasn't signed in yet?!" Ashton snapped and Fiona flinched in fear. Ashton cursed silently before waving his hand at her in dismissal and she got out of there as quickly as she could."I never knew I have a very incompetent and otiose secretary!" He stood from his chair. "I have to do everything without her then,""Ashton," the voice called. Ashton turned to look at Samuel in curiosity. Samuel nev
Thea was already seated on the bench waiting. The cool breeze of the evening swept against her face as she had her hands folded against her chest, in thoughts. The footsteps behind her sounded closer and she was forced to tilt her head in curiosity. She watched him till he took his seat besides her on the bench in the park. It was them against the cheerful giggle of little children All around. "Thank you for coming,""How is he?" Thea asked Samuel. "How did you leave him?" He asked instead before meeting her stare. "I didn't mean to," she said to him. "Tell that to him and he won't understand." He looked away from her and stared at the scene that formally took Thea's attention. He won't fully understand until you tell him the whole truth Thea." Samuel told her. "I can't," "What more sign do you want for you to know that whatever is happening is wrong? It has been wrong from the start." "What do you mean?" Samuel turned to her now, meeting her stare one more time. "Not too lon
Dawn sat before Mr. Peterson the next morning. Samuel requested of her to tell the police everything she had told him. After an hour of questioning, they let her go home. All they needed to do now, was find Zachary Phillips and they will be an inch close to the culprit. As least, that was what they thought."Thank you for today,""I really see no need for you to thank me, I did it for Freya. If what I just told you would help in whatever way, then I have no problem." Dawn said."Hm, okay.""On another note, why you decided to walk me home is leaving me bewildered," she almost smiled at the end of her statement."You shouldn't be, I'm showing how grateful I really am." Samuel said. "Ashton is bent on finding this culprit that killed his sister and he is one of the people i wouldn't hesitate to do anything for. So take it as if you really did something for him and I'm showing you gratitude in his place." Said Samuel."What about your life outside all this, don't you have something or so
"What happened? What happened Thea? Tell me," he said."I was hit by a car Ashton. I'm sure you heard of all of this yet you play confused." She said.He shook his head. "I didn't know, I promise. When you didn't come, I left the next day, I thought you really didn't want to see me.""How could I not?" She told him. "I got into an accident Ash. One minute I was hit by a car and the next minute, I was at the hospital when I woke up," she swallowed. "When I woke up, it was gone. The doctor telling me that the child couldn't survive it.""After that my mother's ailment became worst I thought I was going to lose it." She said with pain constricting her gut. "If only you knew half of what I went through, the pain, the suffering, the loneliness..." she paused. "I never intended for this to happen."He didn't know what to do but to plant her head against his chest. A few things had been cleared from his chest."I shouldn't have doubted you," he said when the silence was disturbing. "I knew y
The day went by faster than they wanted and Thea found herself at the hospital in the night. She had to sign a few documents at the hospital. When Ash insisted that he came with her, she refused.Ashton walked to the kitchen to get a glass of water from the fridge. He took a large gulp before sealing it back. His eyes darted to the tray of cupcakes that sat on the kitchen counter immediately and he smiled as the memory came flushing in."Master Ryder?" The feminine voice called and he almost yelped in fear. How had he not notice that Mary would be home now. "Are you alright? You were smiling to yourself," she said to him and he just chuckled."I'm fine Maria, I'm just too happy that I can't keep my smile away.""But what could make you this happy-" she stopped herself then thought. "Oh my Gosh, don't tell me it's-""In more ways than one." He joked."You guys finally made up, I'm so happy." She squealed."I'm happy too Maria, I'm too happy that I fear this happiness won't last,""Don'
"Why do you say Samson killed her?" Peterson asked. "Samson was seen an hour after she left.""Because Samson was in love with my girlfriend! He was jealous of the both of us so he took her away from me." "Mr. Phillips, do not make accusations you cannot prove.""I'm telling you, he's lying to you!" He blurted out before cooling down. "He's lying to you," he repeated with a sigh. "Well can you prove it?" Peterson asked. "No but-""Did you see him?" Zachary cursed when he didn't have anything to say. "No," Zachary said in defeat. "Then, I believe we are done here."---"What's on your mind?" Thea asked him. He never ceased brushing her hair with his hand as she planted herself to his chest."I'm thinking," he said."About?""My sister," he answered without missing a beat."Oh," she said. "Freya's death came as a shock to me,""Me too, I flew over immediately I heard of it. I am working with the police force in investigating who murdered her but everything seem to revolve around it
"Fiona what's wrong?" Thea hastened her steps."My God, he scares me. I think you're the only one that can handle him." Fiona said."Fiona-""Are you still wasting time? My God, go!" Fiona pressured and Thea was forced to walk to the direction of his office immediately."Mr. Ryder," she said when she entered. He was filing in documents in his safe when she knocked and entered in his request."What a pleasure making it early Miss Kennedy. I believe I would have to throw a tantrum before seeing you every morning considering you are the one with the fame.""Absolutely not, sir." He turned to her now with his brow raised in amusement."Sir?" He asked."Em...what am I supposed to say? You are my boss in the office, i-" He pulled her closer, surprising her. "I can't know you by your first name while in the office. You said so yourself." She stuttered."What if we compromise. You get to call me Sir when we are in public but in private, I'm just your Ash." His nose trailed down her cheeks."A
