Nathan’s POV

“Detective Anton,” I replied. “The man who tried to assault Amelie sexually always called her sweetheart.”

“What is his name?”

“Jonathan Adams,” I stated.

“I’ll bring him in for questioning,” Detective Anton advised.

“Thank you for all your hard work on this case,” I expressed.

“I’d like to say I’m just doing my job, but I kind of have a soft spot for your wife,” Detective Anton informed me. “Mrs. Michaels seems like a kind-hearted and giving person. You hate to see bad things happen to good people. I want to catch this person and put them away for a very long time.”

“She is amazing, sweet, kind, and selfless. That’s why I fell in love with her,” I gushed.

“I will keep you posted,” Detective Anton said. “Try to have a good night.”

“We will. Thank you again,” I said, then hung up the phone.

I let everyone know that I would be right back after I checked on Amelie and headed up the stairs.
