  • The Billionaire's Forsaken Wife    Chapter 125

CLARA'S POV Over the next three days, I woke up every morning with one single goal inside my heart.I texted Martha constantly from morning till night, sending her sweet messages to ask about her health and her daily work and every time she told me how tired she was after washing dishes, I sent small cash gifts directly to her bank account.I watched my phone screen show the transfer confirmations, and I knew the small amounts of money I have been sending to her would be making her head turn completely."Rich people like Roosevelt will just use your youthful energy and throw you away without giving you anything good," I typed on my phone, sitting on my sofa with a cold smile on my face."You work so hard every day, but your boss lives in luxury and treats you like you do not matter at all," I added, pressing the send button while my heart burned with joy.Martha replied to my text message immediately, and her words showed that she was starting to fall into my trap."Aunty Clara, you

CLARA'S POV“My mother is rotting in a police holding cell, all because of one stupid woman that calls herself Roosevelt. If I did not act fast right now, I was going to lose my expensive cars and every single penny of my family's wealth to Roosevelt.”I paced back and forth in my bedroom like a restless animal, and my heart was beating fast as I thought about my ruined life right now.I was so angry, I grabbed a vase and threw it against the wall, as I watched it break into pieces on the floor because my anger was too heavy for my chest. My mother Beatrice had always paid for my clothes and my trips, through our family trust funds but now the police had taken her away and frozen all her bank accounts.I knew that Zyran would never give me another dime, and he was going to let that poor girl Roosevelt control the whole family property."I cannot go back to being poor, and I will never let that woman win," I spat out, wiping a tear from my face as I made up my mind to get to the end of

ROOSEVELT’S POVBeatrice pulled her hands away from the female officers, and she began to weep loudly like a small child who got caught doing something bad.Her diamond rings clicked against the floor as she stretched her hands out toward Zyran’s shoes, and her fancy hair was falling all over her face."Zyran, my son, please do not do this to your own mother," Beatrice wept, looking up at him with red eyes while her body shook."Think about our family name, and think about what the high-society people will say when they see my face on the television news tomorrow," she pleaded, grabbing the bottom of his trousers with her shaking fingers."If you let these police officers take me away in handcuffs, you will ruin our family reputation forever," she said, wiping her nose with her sleeve while her voice squeaked in her throat.Immediately she said that, I felt a hot-wild anger explode inside my chest when I heard her talk about her stupid high-society reputation after everything she had

ROOSEVELT’S POVMy husband’s arms were still around my waist when the dining room door swung open, and one of Zyran's guards came in.I pulled myself away from Zyran gently, and I wiped the tears from my cheeks with the back of my hand.We had just finished feeding our two children their late dinner, and my heart was slowly finding peace as I watched Lorna swallow her last spoon of soup.My little boy was sitting beside his sister, and he was chewing a soft piece of bread while laughing at his father's gentle voice. Then suddenly, Zyran’s special spy guard walked into the room immediately, and his face was pale as he looked at us."Boss, my team just called me from the main estate," the guard whispered, leaning his head down close to Zyran's ear as Zyran jerked at his words.“Yes, what happened?” Zyran asked curiously."Sir, they said your mother Beatrice is preparing to leave the house right now to meet Mateo," the guard said, keeping his voice so low that the children could not hear

ROOSEVELT'S POVImmediately I returned from the hospital, I walked into the quiet hallway of our home, and my legs felt weak from all the running around at the hospital. My daughter Lorna ran out of her bedroom, and she threw her arms around my knees as I dropped down to the floor right away, and I pulled her body into my arms while my eyes filled with tears."Mommy, you were gone for so long," Lorna whispered, pulling back to look at my face with sad eyes."I am here now, my darling," I said, kissing her forehead while my voice broke in my throat. My little boy came running out of the bedroom right behind her, and he threw his arms around my neck with a happy cry. I held both of my children close to my chest, and I made a promise to protect them from the evil people in this world. After I tucked my children into their beds, I walked into the kitchen to prepare a simple dinner for them.My heart was still heaving and my hands trembling so much that I could barely hold the handle of th

Roosevelt’s PovNixie's voice trembled through the phone, and then I heard a terrible sound over the speaker as she shouted."Roosevelt! They are kicking the door," Nixie said as her voice shook so hard I could barely understand her.My heart dropped into my stomach as I sat in the back of Zyran's car as I squeezed my eyes shut, and I prayed with everything inside me that we would not get there too late."Hold on, Nixie," I said into the phone, pressing the speaker close to my ear. "Do not open that door for anyone until we get there.""I am trying to move the small couch," Nixie said, with her voice full of fear. "Awww…It is too heavy for me alone, Roose."On the other end of the line while I spoke to her, I immediately heard a wet cough, and then the sound of metal scraping against the floor. Elias was awake and he was still weak from his surgery, but I heard his bare feet touch the cold floor as he struggled to get to Nixie."Nixie, stop," Elias said, his voice low and weak through
