Aria

A few days passed by and it was midnight. I turned in my sleep, slowly opening my eyes.

"Richard", I called, feeling my throat dry. I got no replies. I moved my hand, trying to get him to wake up, but I was met with a cold bed. I opened my eyes fully and I was met with an empty bed. I sat up on the bed, looking around, and I was wondering where he could have been. I took my phone out of the bedside drawer, and I checked the time. It was around 3 in the morning. I sighed, standing up.

I grabbed my walking stick, walking slowly to the mini fridge in our room, and I poured myself water. After drinking water, I looked around. I couldn't hear any sound, so he wasn’t in the room. Feeling curious, I left my room. Everywhere was quiet, and it made me uneasy.

This is the main house, but everyone has their separate houses. This was one of the properties my father left for me, and it’s a private estate. It gets quiet like this sometimes, but tonight, I felt uneasy. I kept walking around, and for some reason, I walked to Lily’s room. My heart beat quietly as I got closer to her room, and I heard the soft sound. I paused in my tracks, her soft moans echoing in my ears. The feeling I felt months ago came back in a rush, but this time I was drowning in anger. My eyes turned, and I felt dizzy, but I didn’t turn back.

I continued to the door, and when I got there, I stopped. I heard the loud and deep groan from Richard, the same noise he makes when he is about to cum. This was my favourite part of us making love. He would cling onto me tightly, and he would say my name, his face twisting in pleasure. I loved seeing his face; I found it sexy, and I love the deep grunts.

“Fuck, Lily,” he groaned. I tried to hold back my tears, but I couldn’t. I realised everything he did to me wasn’t special or exclusive. He told her the same thing: he loves her like he loved me and fucks her like he fucked me, with the same show of affection and the same words. Nothing was special. I was about to walk away, but Lily's voice stopped me in my tracks.

“I bet she can’t fuck you like that,” she said breathlessly. Richard chuckled.

“You’re right, she is very weak in bed. You are my wild sexy kitten,” he says. Those were the same words he used for me when I sat on him, riding him into oblivion. He would always say I was the best thing that ever happened to him; in his words, my energy was unmatched in bed. Lily laughed.

“She’s getting old,” she said. Richard laughed with her.

“I can’t wait for William to prepare the documents and we put our plans in motion. Once everything is ready, I will divorce her and marry you. You are the one I should have fallen in love with; I was blind,” he says. I could imagine Lily blushing.

“And soon, we will have our baby. I’m so happy, Richard; the lord has given us a second chance. That bitch is useless now; it’s actually so pitiful seeing her so weak. She looks fragile,” she said, laughing. My ears echoed, bitch? The sister who I did everything for? Now I am a bitch.

"Ma'am,” I heard, and I turned. It was a maid, and she looked nervous that I was standing in front of the door. I could tell she knew of their affair; everyone knew. Except me. I grabbed the door knob and turned it. The door opened and the two of them panicked, sitting up.

“What the hell!” Lily yelled. Their eyes finally settled on me and they were of course naked. I stood there in disbelief and I didn’t need to pretend. Exhaustion kicked in and I found myself falling to the floor with no one to catch me. I was all alone.

***************

I woke up from my bed again, and Richard sat in front of me panicking.

“Are you okay?” He asked nervously. I turned my head, and the sun was up; my room was filled with everyone, including the doctor. Lily stood at the corner folding her hands.

“What happened?” I asked with my voice hoarse.

“You fainted,” Doctor James said. I held my hand up, and Richard helped me up. I rest my back on the pillow he provided for me, rubbing my temples.

“I fainted?” I asked.

“Yes, your health seems to be deteriorating. You need to come back to the hospital,” he said. He was right; I feel very tired. Sometimes I forget things or just stare into space. If I need to fully heal and have my revenge, I need to be away from all of them.

“No, I hate the smell of the hospital,” I mumbled.

“But your health, Ms Smith. If you don’t get the necessary medication, you will keep fainting and one day slip into a coma. This is the longest you’ve been unconscious since you came back from the hospital,” he says.

“He’s right, Aria. I am worried about you, we are going back to the hospital,” Richard says. He wasn’t worried; he only needed space to fuck his favourite kitten.

“He’s right, dear. You need to recover nicely,” Mom added.

“So it’s decided; she will pack her bags and go to the hospital,” Richard said, deciding for me. Doctor James nodded, and he was about to say something, but I cut him off.

“No,” I said. They all looked at me.

“No? This is the best…” I cut Richard off.

“Call Williams. I have a penthouse in one of the hotels close to the hospital. Doctor James can treat me easily from there,” I say.

“A penthouse? You didn’t tell me you bought a penthouse,” Richard says. I smiled sweetly.

“I’m sorry, baby; I bought some properties in the past. I must have forgotten to tell you,” I replied, holding his hand. He nodded awkwardly, but I could see the anger in his eyes. He always reacted like this when I bought something luxurious for myself. I thought he was angry because of my spending habits; now I know it’s jealousy.

“Okay, since that is finalised. Please give me a call when you are there,” Doctor James said. I smiled.

“Thank you,” he says, taking his bag and leaving. The room became quiet after he left and no one was moving. I closed my eyes waiting for anyone to speak or leave but nothing happened. I opened my eyes and looked at them.

“Can someone call Williams?” I asked. Richard snapped out of it and reached for his phone.

“Mom, please ask the maids to pack my bags. Everyone else leave,” I say, trying not to snap at them. They slowly left and I breathed out. I will go away for a few months, away from their hawk eyes and the media. I will focus on my health and recover nicely. When I’m back, it will be a whole new person, I will get my revenge and they will all suffer. They will all see the other side of me, I am done being the nice person who tried to carry her family along.

“Which of the hotels?” Richard asked, on the phone with Williams. But I didn’t hear him, all I could think of was how I will make his life miserable, I will take back everything that I gave him. I will take him back to the gutters where I picked him from. They all have created a monster. A monster with a heart full of stones. ‘I will make you suffer Richard Smith, mark my words’.

Aria“How do you feel?” Wayne asked. It was late at night, and I had sent a message to Richard saying I would be staying with William, which he completely ignored. I suppose he was too busy with the celebration.“I guess I'm fine,” I whispered, taking the drink from his hands. He sat beside me, and we both stared up at the dark sky. I was sitting on the patio wearing his clothes, wrapped snugly in a blanket. It felt refreshing not to be in that penthouse or at my house, surrounded by people who hated me.“You’ve been sitting out here for a while,” he said, letting out a soft breath.“Just reflecting,” I mumbled. “I never thought a day like this would come.”“My mother never approved of Richard, my aunt was completely against him, and it took hell and an absurd amount of effort to convince them he was the right one for me. But… they were right,” I whispered, exhaling slowly.“I still wonder how he got them on his side, how he manipulated them so easily. I had the best relationship with

Aria“There, there, stop crying. A pretty girl like you shouldn’t be crying,” I told her, pulling away. She sniffled, and I wiped her tears, taking her face gently in my hands.“You know how much I love you, right?” I asked. She nodded, and I smiled. “I got you that car you’ve always wanted, and a house. All for you,” I told her.Her eyes widened in shock, a bright smile spreading across her face. “Really?”I nodded. “It’s your push gift. You are my baby sister, and I would do anything to make you happy. You know that.”Lily beamed, throwing her arms around me. “Thank you, Sister! I’m so happy!” she exclaimed, and I laughed quietly. She had always wanted that house and car, but I had kept telling her, not now. She had begged me so many times, but back then, I wasn't ready for her to leave the estate and live on her own. I was just trying to be a p

  • The Billionaire’s Heiress   Chapter 13 Baby Shower

AriaThe car parked in front of my house and I came down, breathing out. Today was Lily’s baby shower and of course I had to make an appearance. I was in the hospital for two weeks and those were the longest weeks of my life. I was tired of seeing white walls, tired of the smell, and tired of lying vulnerable on that bed. Surprisingly, Richard stuck around. He made sure I was getting everything I needed and didn’t leave my side.I began to wonder if he didn’t care about his baby on the way. Lily would have wanted his attention, to be babied by him and to plan the gender reveal together. But for those two weeks, he never left my side; he slept on the couch, made sure I was eating, and followed up with the doctor. He acted like a doting husband, but I wasn’t moved. He only felt guilty because I had passed out beside him all night while he slept soundly. And it’s not like he genuinely cared—if I had died beside him, he wouldn’t have successfully gotten his hands on the company. After two

AriaThe slow sound of the machine beeping woke me up from my slumber. I slowly opened my eyes, and at first, everything looked blurry and bright. The only thing I saw was white walls, and I was confused. Was I dead? Was I in heaven? I blinked repeatedly, and the room became clear. I looked around and noticed I was in a ward. The door opened and Richard walked in.He ran to me once he noticed I was awake. “Aria,” he called, looking down at me worriedly. I opened my mouth to say something, but no words came out.“I will get the doctor,” he said, running outside. I lay on the bed without moving, and shortly after, he returned with help. Doctor James checked my vitals and spoke to me, but I was too weak to utter a word.“W-water,” I finally whispered, hoping he heard me. Richard looked around the room and quickly grabbed me a bottle of water. After drinking the water, I felt better.“How is she, Doctor?” he asked, looking at me worriedly.Doctor James sighed. “Her health is deteriorating

AriaHe walked towards me, still staggering, and I tried to keep my cool.“You look so tempting in purple,” he slurred, getting closer to me. He kissed all over my neck, and I felt irritated. He has been with my sister, been with Lillian, and so many other women that I am yet to know. How long has this been going on? How long has he been cheating? And then he comes back home, acting like an obsessed husband who wants his wife. I have been sharing him with other women that I don’t know about. And to think I thought I was special.I pushed him away like his touch burned me, and it was harder than I intended. I scratched my neck, feeling worms crawling on my skin. He staggered back, his eyes widening at my sudden movement.“I’m too tired, Richard,” I told him, holding myself back from snapping at him.He frowned. “But you’ve never refused me.”Tears almost welled up in my eyes. Yes, I’ve never refused you because I thought you were mine; I thought your body belonged to me just as mine di

Aria“What was that, Aria!” Richard yelled, coming inside the room. I got back to my penthouse a few hours ago and I didn’t expect Richard to barge in drunk.“Are you drunk?” I asked, already knowing the answer.“I’m not drunk, I am perfectly okay,” he slurred. “But you need to tell me what you were doing with Wayne. Why is he hovering around you knowing you are mine!”I sighed. Seems we were back at this. “It was a party, Richard. He only came to greet me and was relieved that I was safe.”Richard wasn’t convinced. “He doesn’t need to check on you. What business does he have with you? I am your husband, I’m the only person who should look at you!” He yelled.I sighed, rubbing my temples. For hours I’ve been checking the documents William sent to me. Exhaustion was slipping in but I refused to give in. I needed to know everything. I saw that my family all have separate secret accounts and small companies. That’s where they hide all the stolen funds so far. Richard and my mother have s
