Amir

He knew she would come. And she came willingly. Eyes swollen, hung shoulders, voice quiet.

He watched her without emotion. This wasn't about feelings, this was a transaction.

They made a deal. She signed the contract, he fulfilled his promise. End of story.

She handed him the contract and sat down on one of the lounge chairs. He took the envelope and glanced through the contents to ensure she’d signed properly.

“ You won't be coming with me today. Our marriage has to be registered properly before you move in with me. Be ready tomorrow by 9am. Don't bring any of your things, we'll get new ones for you. Dress formally”. He barked the instructions without a hint of warmth.

“Do you have anything to say?” He asked her.

She shook her head feebly in objection.

“Make sure all your affairs are in order before tomorrow morning. You'll receive your two million dirhams after the civil registry” He added, his cold gaze sweeping over her.

Again, she only nodded.

Crystal She was soaking in the bathtub, preparing for the dinner, when she heard her name. “Crystal!!!” She heard her name being yelled out. That voice was unmistakable . It was Amir. “Who is it?” She asked, already knowing who it was. She was trying to mask the panic setting in. She scrambled for her towel but the door flew open revealing Amir. She froze in her tracks, wide-eyed and bare. She suddenly used her arms to cover her chest. “Remove those hands from your chest, woman. That's my property you're covering”. He thundered, his eyes shamelessly trailing her body as he licked his lips. She immediately dropped her hands to her side, terrified. “Wh…what a..are you doing here” she asked, trembling. “What kind of stupid question is that?” He screamed. “Can't enter my wife's room? Or is it my own house I can't come into anymore?” His eyes were glued to her body. “Can you wait in the living room while I get dressed?” She asked him, flustered with embarrassment. He burst

Crystal Six weeks had passed since she got legally married to Amir Al-fayad. Six weeks since she'd started living in this Mansion prison. Six weeks since she'd last seen him. Everyday felt harder than the last. She followed a strict routine that Amir had laid out for her. Wake up. Breakfast. Garden. Library. Lunch. Siesta. Dinner. Sleep. She was sick of it, but she knew this was only the beginning. The library was her only place of peace, the only space where she could feel some semblance of control. It was there she buried herself in marketing books to make up for the diploma she had abandoned. “Mr. Amir gave strict instructions that you’re not allowed to step outside,” Amelia had said when she asked if she could attend school. Today in particular was abuzz. The entire staff was busy with one thing or another. At 8 a.m., Amelia came into her room carrying two large boxes. “Time for breakfast,” she said as she placed them near the dresser. “What's going on today? Why i

Crystal She left the lounge like a zombie. She even ignored Garcia calling her. He was clearly fishing for gossip again. “This must be a terrible dream” She kept thinking over and over again. By the time she reached the entrance of the lounge, she found Laila pacing about. Her legs suddenly turned to jelly, and she couldn't walk. She collapsed in front of the door and burst into tears. Laila immediately rushed to her side. “Shhh. It's okay. It's okay”. She peered at Laila through her tears and saw the confusion and worry on her face. She wiped her face and turned towards her. Laila was still looking confused. “Now that you've calmed down, can you tell me what's making you cry? Did Mr Amir try to assault you? Did he make you uncomfortable? What exactly happened there?”. Laila bombarded her with questions. Crystal looked down at her hands. Tears welled up again but she held them in. She handed the envelope to Laila, afraid that if she spoke, the tears would come rushing back.

Crystal Loud bangs on her door woke her up from her sleep. Worry and fear washed over her face as she tried to wonder who might be knocking on her door at 5am in the morning. The knocks came again, louder this time, followed by threats from the voice outside. Crystal sprung to her feet, shuffling her feet trying to find her slippers in the dark. “Look, if you don't open this door, I'll break it down this instant” She heard the person on the other side snap at her. The voice was unmistakable, her heart pounded loudly. She found her slippers and quickly dashed at the door. She opened it and froze at the sight of the man before her. A cold sweat crept down her spine. “I'm really sorry Mr Dexter” She stammered. “I was about to get your money to you this morning as soon as I woke up”. Her voice was trembling with fear. “Well, I'm here now. Where's the money or do you want us to sell off your organs to pay instead??” The man snapped at her. Crystal rushed inside her room, her finger

Amir He came to El-paso lounge with one plan in mind. Find Crystal Lin. Rumour had it she worked at this shabby, run down establishment. Amir stepped into the manager’s office without hesitation. His sharp eyes scanned the dusty room, catching sight of vermin, both the literal kind and the human kind, scrambling to impress him. He’d seen men like Mr. Morgan too many times before. The sleazy smile. The greed in his eyes. The pathetic eagerness. Amir didn’t bother sitting up straight on the sagging couch. He was already disgusted with the place. He leaned back lazily and dropped the bomb without blinking. “I want Crystal Lin to dance for me tonight.” He made a mental note to trash the suit he was wearing as soon as he stepped out of the building. The manager blinked, then forced a laugh, his voice oily with fake politeness. “Mr. Amir, it’s such an honor to have you here tonight. I see you’ve heard about our best girl. But Crystal doesn’t take VIP clients.” Amir arched an ey
