"Where did you go?" I lifted my head from my laptop upon hearing Karious' voice.

"Sir Karious," I replied innocently as he approached my table.

I reclined in my chair to get a better view of him. He folded his arms and fixed a penetrating gaze on my eyes. A smile played on my lips as we locked eyes. I wondered what kind of excuses Yasmin had given him.

"Where were you and who were you with?" he repeated his question.

"I just had a meal outside, Sir Karious. I bid goodbye to Miles. Didn't she inform you?" I arched my brow, though I knew Miles had probably spilled the beans. I just needed a few excuses.

"She did, but you didn't mention where you would go."

I absentmindedly scratched my eyebrow. "Is that really important, Sir? I simply dined out. Must I inform you every detail of my activities?" My eyes rolled, and I averted my gaze.
