Chapter 4: Unleashing the Flames of Retribution

Brian's resounding knock on the table reverberated through the room, punctuating his boiling rage. His bloodshot eyes betrayed his seething anger.

How dare that woman use her pregnancy as a tool to manipulate him? She dared to believe she could control him. Who did she think she was?

"Damn it!" Brian's voice thundered through the room, filled with frustration and resentment.

How could he salvage his relationship with Vivian now? How could she reveal all his secrets to Vivian, of all people?

When he proposed, memories of Vivian's sweet smile flooded Brian's mind. There was a time when their love was genuine when they shared the purest of emotions. He had chosen to marry her, believing they would build a future together and perhaps have a beautiful child. But all those dreams now lay shattered in the past.

Brian understood Vivian's character all too well. She has a sweet disposition. She despised lies and would never give him another chance. Their relationship had reached its bitter end.

The more he thought about Vivian, the more Brian resembled a wounded beast, consumed by the desire to lash at Emma. She had seduced him, luring him into a clandestine affair and demanding secrecy. He had been cautious, but he never expected her to claim pregnancy.

Brian had decided to sever ties with Emma long before he proposed to Vivian. He hadn't contacted her since, unsure if the pregnancy was his. This vile woman was using this excuse to extort him for money. That was all she wanted.

Just then, a secretary timidly entered Brian's office, her eyes widening at seeing broken objects strewn across the floor.

"Sir, there's a woman named Emma here to see you!"

Brian's eyes flashed with a glimmer of interest. He had been about to seek her out to confirm her claims, and she stood at his doorstep. What was her game?

"Let her in," Brian commanded, his voice laced with simmering anger.

The secretary quickly obeyed, exiting the room as if fearing that a moment's delay would incur the wrath of her supervisor. She had never seen him so consumed by fury.

Emma entered promptly, her heavily made-up face adorned with a long crimson dress that exuded an air of triumph.

"Why are you so angry? Take it easy!" Emma cooed, a smirk dancing upon her lips.

She sauntered closer to Brian, her hand reaching out to stroke his chest, her eyes smouldering with seduction.

But Brian's interest in playing Emma's games had long vanished. Revenge burned fiercely within him. His eyes blazed like an inferno.

Brian forcefully swatted Emma's hand away, his fists clenched tightly, ready to strike.

"It was you who ruined my wedding!" Brian's voice raged with unbridled fury.

"What have I done wrong? I'm merely revealing the truth!" Emma's smile oozed with disdain.

She hadn't forced Brian into an illicit affair; he had willingly embarked on that wrong path. And now, he dared to blame her. He was nothing more than a despicable man.

Drawing closer to Emma, Brian's large arms wrapped around her neck, squeezing with an intensity that left her gasping for air. She weakly attempted to push him away, her feeble resistance futile.

"Don't touch me! I'm carrying your child!" Emma's voice echoed with desperation.

Only then did Brian release his grip, allowing Emma to stumble backwards and collapse to the floor. She gasped for breath, tears streaming down her face and her bruised neck crimson with evidence of his assault.

"How dare you!"You don't deserve to be a father to my child!" Emma screamed.

"You're not even worthy of carrying my child!" Brian refused to back down, his anger burning fiercely.

Emmaheart trembled at Brian's cruel words. How could he speak of their unborn child with such disdain?

Struggling to regain her composure, Emma forced herself to stand. She refused to back down before the man she once loved deeply. She never imagined he would unleash such violence upon her. He was attempting to snuff out her life.

"I'll expose the abhorrent deeds you've committed against your own family! I'll make your denial of responsibility public, with journalists as my witnesses!"

"How dare you!" Brian's anger intensified, his hand raised to strike Emma across the face.

"Let's see if I have the guts or not," Emma retorted, rolling her eyes at Brian. She held the key to his vulnerability, unafraid of his potential for further harm.

Brian lowered his arm, fighting to regain control of his rage. He understood that Emma, the electrician, feared nothing.

"What do you want?"

"Why didn't you ask me that sooner?" Emma's smug smile betrayed her satisfaction.

"If you desire something, speak quickly! I'm not a patient man."

"Don't be so angry! All I want is to be your wife."Emma's audacious request provoked Brian's disdain. How delusional was she to think he would ever marry her? Could a typical miner like her ever be worthy of joining a prestigious family? He needed to quash her wild ambitions.

"You wish!" Brian responded, his voice laced with scorn.

Emma had anticipated Brian's rejection and displayed no disappointment. However, she possessed a trump card that would make him reconsider.

"Aren't you afraid of losing your inheritance to your younger brother?" Emma laughed, knowing his weaknesses all too well.

When she exposed his secret to the press, his family would swiftly choose his more capable and deserving brother as the heir.

A wealthy family like his would never select an incompetent and notorious figure like him. Spending nearly a year together, she had gleaned every detail about his family. She knew his throne was teetering on the edge.

Brian deliberated, refusing to allow anyone to control him. Emma's perception of him was far too simplistic. She had no clue of the storm that would descend upon her.

Emma confidently exited the office, her gaze triumphant. Soon, she would seize ownership of this domain.

Brian contemplated his next move. He refused to be dictated to by anyone. Emma had naively underestimated what he was capable of. She had no idea what awaited her.
