Emelia’s Pov

"Oh, okay." I mumbled, my voice still weak.

With that, they left, closing the door behind them and leaving me alone in the sterile hospital room with Kaidon. He walked back to my bedside and pulled a chair closer, sitting down in it. He didn't say anything at first, just stared at me with a look I couldn't quite figure out.

After a few moments of this intense silence, I finally broke it, "Why are you staring at me like that?" I asked, my voice a little more confident now.

Kaidon let out a long, heavy sigh, leaning forward and resting his elbows on his knees, "I'm trying my best not to scold you anymore.” He said, his voice low and serious, “I've never been so worried about someone in my life. You were ice cold and burning up at the same time. I don't even know what to do with you."

I mumbled under my breath, "You've already scolded me enough."

He heard me, of course, and a small, tired smile touched his lips, “Have I?” He said, "But you made me so worried, Emelia.”
