Yza was silent when she entered their bedroom the following morning. Her husband was still lying down, but when he saw her, he immediately sat up at the edge of the bed, holding his head. He probably had a hangover.

“Have you eaten? Your food is ready,” she said calmly, though her tone was cold.

She glanced at her husband, and his eyes were fixed on her while his elbows were propped on his thighs, his head resting in his palms.

Unable to resist, she approached and touched his neck. He looked haggard, like he was sick, though he wasn’t.

“Going to school?” he asked her.

He probably didn’t know what else to say. It was obvious she was in uniform, so why ask where she was going?
