Nora's POV

“What happened?”

I looked at him with teary eyes. “My sister died. I killed her.”

I expected him to shift away from me at the admission but he didn't do anything of such. He kept his eyes on me, his gaze fixed and unblinking.

“Didn't you hear what I said?” I asked, surprised at his lack of reaction.

He nodded. “I did. I'm waiting for you to laugh.”

I frowned, confusion clouding my senses for a while before understanding trickled in. I burst into laughter when I understood what he meant.

“You think I'm joking?” I asked, partly amused and partly in disbelief.

“I know you are joking.”

“What if I'm not?” I cleared my throat, grateful for his solid trust in me though.

“You don't look like a murderer.”

I arched my eyebrows at him, chuckling in amusement. Of all things he could have said, he couldn't have found a funnier response.

He chuckled. “You've forgotten that I'm a businessman. Having a good eye for people is part

  • The Billionaire's Prisoner Wife   Face to Face With an Enemy

Nora's POV My head ached as if I had been hit with a large plank. I groaned as I forced my eyes open, wondering why it was so hard to get the act done when I did it every morning. I creaked open one eye but had to force it shut when the pain that traveled through my body felt like I ran a crazy marathon through a string of needles. My body ached everywhere. My head ached more. And I felt like I was in hell. With how sweaty and clammy my skin felt, I could as well have died and gone to hell.Had I really died?My heart kicked into overdrive and I struggled to remember my last moments, in case I had really died.I couldn't remember dying but I could remember seeing a face that made my blood run cold.Mark's.As if he knew that I was thinking of him, I heard his voice chuckling darkly at me and my blood turned to ice.Mark was here? With me?“I know you are awake, bitch.” He hissed. “Don't make me force you to look at me.”My eyes flew open and my heart sank as I realized that he was tr

  • The Billionaire's Prisoner Wife   The Unfortunate Meeting

Nora's POV “Promise me you won't stay out late.”I smiled at his clingy attitude. I had made that promise to him over ten times in the past one hour.“I won't.”“I don't want you to go.” He sulked, repeating himself for the umpteenth time.“You are adorable.” I chuckled. He rolled his eyes. “Hey, don't say that about a grown man.”I chuckled. “A grown man who is a baby to me.”“I can't deny that.” He smiled, his eyes melting.I couldn't wait to be back so I could fold into his arms.“I have to go, Damon. At least, people in my world won't think that I'm missing. Moreover, I miss her and would like to meet up with her. I don't have many people who care about me and it's a pleasure to have her reach out to me and know that someone cares about me.”“I can't deny you leaving when you seem excited to leave.” He grinned, placing a kiss on my lips. “I am.”He sighed. “You will spend the rest of tomorrow with me. You have to make it up to me.” He reluctantly said.“You have my forever anywa

  • The Billionaire's Prisoner Wife   The Clingy Husband

Nora's POV “A colleague of mine reached out to me yesterday.” I said, unable to hide the full blown grin on my face.I couldn't hide how excited I was that someone in my life remembered me and I wasn't forgotten as I had thought I had been.“Are you that happy?” Damon chuckled.“Hmmm,” I replied, nodding my head in excitement.“Come here.” He dropped the laptop he was working on and made a gesture for me to sit on his lap.I moved closer to him without hesitation and melted like butter into him. “Can I go?” I stared at him, pleading with him with my eyes to allow me.He sighed. “I want to keep you with me all day.”“Damon,” I giggled, feeling my face flame up. “It's just for a day.”“I don't even want to let go of you for a second.”I laughed, wrapping my hands around his neck. “Who has been teaching you lines?”He shrugged. “I had to learn how to be romantic and say the right words because I fell in love with an amazing lady.”I buried my face in his shoulders as I tried to control

  • The Billionaire's Prisoner Wife   The Arranged Curse

Sasha's POV “Let your sister come closer.”I rolled my eyes and puffed with annoyance at my mother's words.I knew it.I knew they were going to make her the favorite daughter. I knew they were going to discard me like a used rag because of her.Damon did that after all. I couldn't believe though that my parents would do that to me.“Are you okay?” Nora rushed to mum's side, her voice filled with panic.I sighed, hating why anyone didn't see through her fake sincerity. How could she care so deep so soon about someone she just met?Mum smiled at her. “I'm fine, daughter. It's good to see your face. I feel suddenly better.”I snorted.Mum glanced at me and dad threw me a nasty look, warning me to be careful. I sighed, holding on to my anger. It wasn't like they were going to throw me out of the room because of her. Not even they would do that, no matter how pleased they were to find the missing daughter.“Nora, that was so good.” Mum giggled later at a story she told her. “I can't bel

Nora's POV Tonight was the best and I was with the best man in the universe.“Thank you for tonight.” I smiled as Damon parked his car in the garage, my jaws aching from laughing too hard.I felt freer than I had ever felt in days. I had no idea how much my soul needed the outing and I was grateful that Damon thought of it.“Sit,” he said in response. He got out, walked round the car and opened the door for me.“Thank you,” I giggled and placed my palm in his, letting him walk me out of the car.We held hands as we made our way back to the house, laughing and talking softly to each other.“Where are you coming from this late? You don't mind rubbing your affair in everyone's faces, do you?”We stopped in our tracks and our eyes widened at the sight of her.Sasha?Wasn't she tired of being in the house where she wasn't wanted? Did she have something buried in the house that she wanted to have?“What are you doing here?” Damon growled at her. “You don't mind flaunting her around now,

  • The Billionaire's Prisoner Wife   The Sensitive Partner

She seemed like she had been drained of all willpower to live and I know just exactly who to blame for that.Sasha.That snake.I cursed her as I thought of her again. How dare she come into my house to cause my girl dismay?“Don't mind her,” I said, pulling Nora into my arms.“But it's true.” She said in a broken voice as she looked at me with red-rimmed eyes. “Nancy wouldn't have gone missing or die if I hadn't wanted to have fun.”I hissed. “Don't say that. It's not your fault.”I hated to see her in pain. The tears in her eyes and the brokenness in her voice affected me so much that I couldn't breathe.“Should we go out?” I said after minutes of consoling her but she still kept on crying.“For?”I wanted to say fun but I was afraid to say that, worried that I might trigger her and make her completely shut down.“Just to explore the outside world.” I said with a carel
