The following days passed smoothly as usual in the Knight mansion. I kept myself preoccupied with my side business of stock trading along with keeping Evan company. Theodore returned every night after reporting the company's dealings to his grandmother, but he hadn't been around for the past two days.

At first, I thought it was because he was avoiding Madeline who once hugged him enthusiastically after he walked through Victoria's door. That day, the old woman was so angry that she screamed at them that night until she nearly lost her voice.
