Tia felt herself drift into consciousness. She could feel her head banging with a headache, her entire body felt so sore. She struggled to open her eyes but they felt so heavy and she was so tired. It was one of those mornings that she felt she could sleep for ages. Even then, something felt like it was not right, the light was not coming from the right direction,

the smell of the room was not hers. She was awake then, and she could feel a hand across her stomach, the fact that she could feel the skin to skin contact told her that her stomach was naked.

Tia refused to open her eyes, she did not want to, she was afraid of what she would see. She was not alone in bed and she was not even in her bed. Several thoughts passed her mind, but she could barely think well, her head was still banging. She tried to remember what happened the night before, but all she could come up with was deciding not to cry over William any longer, she vaguely remembered getting dressed to go to the club. Tia groaned as she out two and two together. She could die of mortification and embarrassment. She lay in the bed then not because she was not awake, but because she was afraid to open her eyes and see the man she had taken to bed last night.

Tia decided that she could not lay down on the bed forever. She had to leave. She opened her eyes slowly, and the intensity of the light, hurt her eyes, she closed them back. The body she was in bed with moved close to hers and held her even tighter. Tia panicked, and froze for a moment.

"Good morning, love," the stranger's voice said and then his lips landed on her neck. A memory of the previous night came to her, of the man, hot and handsome as he strode into the bar walked up to her and took the seat beside her.

"Good evening, love," he said then and Tia could not help but blush. He was so handsome, that he could have been a model, she knew his type though, the suit that he wore to the bar told her that he was just like her ex fiancee, William, he was a business man.

Tia opened her eyes again then and pushed him, albeit lightly, off her. She remembered bits and pieces of the night to know that she had come with him willingly. She felt heat on her cheeks as she remembered begging him to touch her at a point, but she was drunk and not very emotionally stable, her emotions were clearer and better since it was day time and he would need her approval before touching her again.

The man by her side, who was as naked as she was, did not seem to take a hint and was moving closer to her again. He had this sleepy look in his eyes that would have ordinarily been sexy, but she was annoyed at herself and the universe in general because she made such a rash decision of having sex with a stranger.

"Don't touch me," she said harshly to the handsome man. His features seemed to harden at that, and he looked confused. His eyebrows furrowed and he moved away from her. Tia noted that he was quite handsome, his black hair was messy from the bed and his eyes were still sleepy, but he still looked like he could be on the cover of a magazine.

"I am not touching you, okay," he said again and Tia was realizing that she could listen to him talk all day, his voice was so soothing, and it carried authority too. She remembered thinking that he was a business man, the description fit well.

Tia looked at how confused he was and she knew that she owed him some sort of explanation.

"I am sorry, last night was a mistake for me. I don't do this at all, one night stands are not my thing," Tia informed him, the man did not look convinced though, he was doubted. Tia felt like burying her face in her palms as she wondered just what she had said and done the previous night that made him look at her in that man.

"That is such a shame. I really liked you, and I hoped we could have come to an arrangement of sorts," he said, he was looking at her as though he was fucking her again, and narrowed her eyes. It was beginning to piss her off. What did he even mean by an arrangement of sorts? Did she seem like a hooker or something?

"It is really such a shame, and I regret ever doing this. I hope we can pass over this," she said to him. Lloyd, that was his name, he told her the previous night, she did not think the name fit him very well. He did not seem like an Lloyd, he seemed like someone that should have been named Damian or Lucifer, something hot and dangerous like that. Those were the vibes that he was exuding.

"Of course, Tia, it was nice knowing you," Lloyd said and he picked up her hand and kissed her fingers. She was still shocked by his actions when he moved closer to her.

"I am going to kiss your lips now, a goodbye kiss," he said. She had the option and the moment to retreat, but she wanted to feel him when he was not drunk, temptation hovered over her and she could not resist. Lloyd placed his lips lightly over hers and kissed her. It was hot and sizzling and over before she could even feel it completely.

Lloyd stood up from the bed, dropping the sheets. He was butt naked and his erection was bulging. Tia knew that she should look away and not be lustful of a naked man but she could not even if she tried. She rationalized that he could easily have gone into the bathroom if he wanted to, but he clearly did not have any issues with nudity. She stared at him as he pulled on his boxers and then his slacks and he buttoned his white shirt and flung his coat over his shoulders.

"Until next time, Tia," Lloyd said and Tia found herself gazing lovingly at the door even after he left the room. Tia let out a breath she did not even know she was holding.

Even if she went against all of her moral values, she figured she at least picked a handsome man to have a one night stand with.

The thought did not last too long though, as she realized that she was in a hotel room and she did not have any other clothes apart from the skimpy back number that she wore the previous night. Tia could not wear the dress in broad day light, she did not know what devil convinced her to wear the dress at night. No wonder Lloyd thought that she was a hooker. He was an ass anyway. Tia put her hand to her lips as she remembered his kiss. She closed her eyes in pleasure another memory of the previous night came to her. Lloyd was kissing his way down her stomach and he had the most ravenous look in his eyes.

Tia shook her head and it began pounding again.

She should go home, she would have a clear head once she hit her own bed. Tia thought. Her body was sticky with sweat and she still smelt of sex, she was grateful then that Lloyd left her alone in the room, there was no way she could have returned home looking and smelling like that.

Tia stood up from the bed and went on to take a shower. More memories of the previous night came to her. It seemed that even in her drunken state they had been very adventurous, too adventurous. They even used the bathroom and Lloyd had shown her how resourceful he could be.

Stop thinking about him, Tia, she chided herself, but she could not stop thinking about him, at least that that moment, the thought of William's betrayal which was at the top of her mind the previous day seemed to have disappeared into thin air.

Tia had been engaged to William for as long as she could remember, she was betrothed to him rather, but he barely acknowledged her. There was no formal engagement party and she was not known to the press, no one knew about her. But every once in a while, both their parents would sit at a table and they would casually talk about their wedding. Tia thought about when he finally gave her a ring a month ago, she figured that it meant everything would be fine and it would normal, that he would not be photographed with models and actresses, that he might finally love her like the way she loved him, that they would be a normal couple, but that had not happened. It was clear to her then that William did not love her and he would never love her, it still did not change the fact that she loved him, and that sleeping with Lloyd now felt like she was cheating on him.

Tia shook off the thought, there was no use thinking that, they already broke up, she gave him back his ring. She put on her skimpy dress and attempted to arrange her hair before she took in a deep breath and walked out of the hotel room. Tia told herself that no one was looking at her as she walked out of the hotel room and into the reception to check out.

She managed to convince herself that she was fine as she called an Uber to take her room.

Tia was relieved when she got into the car, all of that relief flew out the window when her phone began to ring, it was William.

FabianFive years later"When I turned four, I had three birthday parties," ten-year-old William Lewis told his little sister, Natasha. Tasha, for short—the queen of the Lewis household—was not having it. Even if Tasha was just four years old, and even if she was just three years old yesterday, she was never one to back down from a fight, an argument, or even just a nice conversation."Well, this is just my first birthday party. I will be having three more this week. Four birthday parties since I am turning four," Tasha said and showed William the number three, before realising that she was no longer three and switching it up to four. I knew for sure that there was no other birthday party. Tasha's school friends, her teachers, the children of the staff, her cousins—yes, finally, my children now had cousins—Grandma, Uncle Eric, Aunt Tricia, everyone else was here for one big party. The party was in full swing already, and Tasha was wearing the biggest ball gown I had ever seen on a fou

AraI woke up feeling sated and happy. Everything was perfect. Well, technically, it wasn't, and nothing could be perfect. I didn't really believe in perfection, but at that moment, it was perfect for me. It was what I wanted — to live a peaceful life where everything was fine. And that was what I was feeling right now: peace."Happy Anniversary, Babe," I said to my husband and kissed him on the lips. We were still in bed together, and he was just waking up. He still looked a little sleepy. He looked so handsome and perfect when he stared at me like that."Happy Anniversary, baby," he said and reached out to me, pulling me back to the bed, on top of him.I just chuckled."I can't believe we have been married for six whole years," Fabian said with a smile. It was a wonder, really."It might be the fact that we have only been together for two of those years," I said. I was joking. Things were so good now. We could laugh at how tumultuous our relationship was in the early days. The past

AraEverything was over. It was okay. We would finally have the chance to live our lives again. The past was over, and it would not be easy to just forget about all that happened and move on, but at least Quincy was in jail. He would be punished for his crimes. We could live our normal lives, try to improve the business, be happy now.And that was what we did for the next few weeks. We had this talk together. It was almost like the first time we were free, so we spoke about everything. We laid ourselves bare, and we were ready to start all over again. It would be perfect. The time was right. It was five years into our marriage. We would grieve the loss of our child together and try to build our family, for William's sake and for our sake as well. At this point, we needed this. We even started planning another trip to Maldives. Maybe we would take William with us, to bond together, but we agreed that it would be best for us to go alone, especially to Maldives. We would think of somethi

AraIt felt like it had been an eternity since I came back to New York with this whole plan of revenge. In reality, it was nine months ago. And now, today, everything would finally be over. I would get justice, my father would get justice, and even William and Fabian would get justice. The case had progressed fast, and it was the sentencing of Quincy. Finally, he was going to be put in prison. The case had been wild. The entire case had been pushed forward because, basically, there was evidence. It was not a question of “Did Quincy do it?” It was more of, “Was he well when he did it?”Fabian and I were living our lives after our baby's birthday. We had spent time together. We even celebrated our fifth marriage anniversary together. Not a big party, we just talked about it at dinner. It felt like all was over. It was time to move on. At the same time, I knew that it was not time at all. We could not move on yet. Quincy's case was still in court. It was the one last thing that we had to

FabianWilliam's party was splendid. He was very excited about it, and he even thanked Ara and I profusely. I could tell that he would not keep quiet about this for as long as possible, until maybe something bigger came along, maybe Christmas, and he would talk about that endlessly instead.I really enjoyed being around the children, and surprisingly, the entire thing made me feel young again. I even jumped with the kids a few times. This evening was the dinner that we would spend with family, and I knew Ara did get an inflatable pool that came with a slide and all. It was going to be a surprise for William, along with the children of the staff that we didn't tell him we were inviting. I was excited for both. It would be like the school party, but on steroids. I was a bit worried that it would get out of hand and concerned that I would not be able to be a part of it, but that was for a little while. I expelled all negative thoughts from my mind after then and focused more on how much

Ara"I am having the best time!" William screamed. He was jumping up and down his castle. He did look like he was having a swell time. I had to give him that. I was so happy that William was happy. It made all the work that I put into this party so worth it.The day we made the list, Fabian, William, and I went to the market. We did take the chef with us because she was the one that typically worked on things like that, and it would make our day easier to do that. That was the best decision that we made.We went to the children's aisle to buy supplies for the party packs first, something that we shouldn't have even thought about. I just figured that was the best, even if Alba warned me.William became so excited and animated there. He wanted everything. He could technically get everything, his parents were rich, and we were buying a lot of toys. But one did not just buy their kid every single thing on the shelf. The longer we stayed in the aisle, the more William found stuff that he r
