FAZER LOGINCHAPTER 3: THE DEAL IN BLACK AND WHITE
Mia did not sleep that night. How could she sleep when the man sitting across from her had just offered to buy her pain and turn it into a weapon? Adrian Cole did not rush her. He sat in the leather chair in the corner of the penthouse guest room, his suit jacket off, his white shirt sleeves rolled to his elbows, watching her like a man who had all the time in the world. But Mia knew better. Men like Adrian Cole never had time. They only made time when they wanted something. "You want me to marry you," she said again, just to hear how crazy it sounded in her own voice. "For one year." "Yes," he said. "To destroy my father." "Your father destroyed my family first," Adrian said, his voice low and calm, but his eyes turned to ice. "Ten years ago, Richard Hayes stole a contract that belonged to my father. He framed him for fraud. My father lost everything. His company. His name. Three months later, he put a gun to his own head." Mia's heart stopped. She had always known her father was ruthless in business. She had heard the whispers at parties. But this... this was different. "And you want to use me to get to him?" she whispered. "I want to use our marriage to get to him," Adrian corrected her. "Richard trusts blood. If you are my wife, he will invite me into his house. Into his meetings. Into his secrets. And when I have enough..." He paused. "I will burn him to the ground." Mia wrapped her arms around herself. Her wedding dress was still damp from the rain. It clung to her skin, cold and heavy, like the shame of that day. "And what do I get?" she asked. Adrian leaned forward. "You get Daniel. And Lily." At the mention of those names, something inside Mia snapped back to life. The tears stopped. The shaking stopped. All that was left was a cold, burning anger. "What do you mean?" "I know what Daniel did to you," Adrian said. "He didn't just leave you at the altar, Mia. He planned it. He and Lily planned it for months. They wanted to humiliate you in front of everyone so Lily could take your place. So Daniel could take your father's company." Mia felt sick. "How do you know that?" "Because I pay people to know things," Adrian said. "And I also know that after today, you have nothing. No money. No home. Your father has frozen your accounts. Your friends have already started posting Lily's pictures. By tomorrow morning, the whole city will call you the bride who was left in the rain." He was right. And that truth cut deeper than Daniel's betrayal. "So what is your offer?" Mia asked, her voice shaking but steady. Adrian stood up and walked to the desk. He pulled out a thick black folder and placed it in front of her. "Marry me for one year. Live in my house. Attend events with me. Pretend to be the perfect wife. In return, I will give you everything you need for your revenge." He opened the folder. Inside was a contract. Mia scanned the pages. Her eyes widened. 1. A new identity. A new bank account with one million dollars. 2. A team of lawyers to protect her. 3. Evidence against Daniel and Lily - proof of their affair, proof of the money they stole from her. 4. A promise: After one year, she could divorce him and walk away with ten million dollars. "Ten million?" she breathed. "Yes," Adrian said. "But there are rules." He turned to the last page and pointed. Rule 1: No love. This is business. Rule 2: No one must know this marriage is fake. Rule 3: No touching... unless it is for the cameras. Mia looked up at him. "Rule 3?" Adrian's eyes dropped to her lips for just one second. Too fast for her to be sure. Then he looked away. "If we must touch, it must be for show," he said, his voice suddenly rough. "Do you understand?" Mia understood. But her heart was beating too fast for a business deal. She picked up the pen. Her hand was shaking. She thought of Daniel's laugh. She thought of Lily's smirk. She thought of her father watching her cry in the rain and doing nothing. Then she signed her name. Mia Hayes. Adrian watched her sign, and for the first time that night, something soft passed through his eyes. Something that looked almost like respect. "Welcome to your revenge, Mrs. Cole," he said. Mia looked up, tears still on her cheeks, but a small, dangerous smile on her lips. "No," she said. "Welcome to yours."THE BILLIONAIRE'S REVENGE BRIDE CHAPTER 14: THE ATTACK Mia POV That morning, the sky was grey. Not dark. Just grey, like something bad was about to happen. Adrian had already left for work. He kissed my forehead before he left, like he always did now. It was a small kiss. A husband kiss. Not a contract kiss. "Drive carefully," he said. "Call me when you reach Sophia's house." "I will," I said. "Don't worry." I got into my car. I turned on the music. I was going to see Sophia. She wanted to help me pick a dress for the next party. I was driving on the quiet road near our house when I saw it in my mirror. A black car. No plate number. It was driving too close behind me. I tried to speed up. It sped up too. I tried to slow down. It came closer. My heart started beating fast. "What is this?" Then, BANG! The black car hit my car from behind. Hard. My car shook. My hands slipped on the steering wheel. I screamed. BANG! Again. Harder this time. My car went off the road. It h
THE BILLIONAIRE'S REVENGE BRIDECHAPTER 13: THE PUBLIC KISSMia POVThe invitation was gold. Thick. Expensive. The Carter-Cole Charity Gala. The biggest event of the year. Every rich person in the city would be there.Adrian looked at the invitation and sighed. "We have to go. If we don't go, people will say our marriage is falling apart."I nodded. "We will go. Together."That night, I wore a black dress. Simple. Elegant. Not too much. Adrian wore a black suit. When he saw me, he stopped for a second."You look beautiful," he said quietly."You look handsome too," I said, smiling. We arrived at the gala, hand in hand. Cameras flashed everywhere. People whispered."There is Mrs. Cole!""She is so beautiful!""Is their marriage real?"Inside, the hall was full of lights and music. Daniel and Lily were there too. Lily wore a red dress again. Daniel wore a suit that looked too big for him.I tried to ignore them. I held Adrian's hand tighter. Then a reporter came to us with a microphone
THE BILLIONAIRE'S REVENGE BRIDECHAPTER 12: LILY'S GAMEAdrian POVI was in my office, working late, when my secretary knocked."Mr. Cole, Miss Lily Carter is here to see you. She says it is urgent."I frowned. "Lily? Let her in."Lily walked in wearing a short red dress, too much perfume, and a smile that did not reach her eyes. She closed the door behind her."Adrian," she said softly, sitting on the edge of my desk. "We need to talk.""Talk about what?" I asked, not looking up from my papers."About Mia," she said. "Mia does not love you. She is using you. She only married you to make Daniel jealous. Once she gets her revenge, she will leave you."I finally looked up at her. "Lily, I do not have time for games."She moved closer. "I am not playing. I know Mia. She is my sister. I know her heart. She does not love you. But I... I could love you. I can give you what she cannot. A real wife. A woman who truly wants you."She tried to touch my hand. I pulled it away."Lily," I said, my
CHAPTER 11: THE WAR BEGINSAdrian POVThe war started on Monday morning at 9am sharp.I sat in my office, on the 40th floor, looking down at the whole city. My lawyer stood beside me with a folder."Do it," I said.He nodded and made one phone call.By 9:15am, I owned 10% of Carter Group.By 10am, Richard Carter was calling me. I let it ring. Then I hung up.By 11am, the news was everywhere: "Adrian Cole Buys Into Carter Group! Is This A Takeover?"Richard called again. This time I answered."Adrian, what do you think you are doing?" he shouted. "That is my company!"I smiled coldly. "Not anymore, father-in-law. It is our company now. You should get used to seeing my name on your board."I hung up.I felt good. I had waited ten years for this moment. Ten years of planning. Ten years of hating. But then I looked at the photo on my desk. It was not the old photo of my father and Richard. It was a new photo. Mia and me at the gala, kissing for the cameras. And suddenly, I did not feel so
CHAPTER 10: THE FAMILY DINNERMia POVThe invitation came the next morning.A white envelope, with gold letters. From the Carter family."Mr. and Mrs. Richard Carter request the pleasure of your company for a Family Dinner. Saturday, 7pm."Martha handed it to me. "Mrs. Cole, are you going to go?"I looked at Adrian. He was reading the invitation over my shoulder."It is a trap," he said simply. "Your father does not invite people for dinner. He invites them for war.""I know," I said. "But if we don't go, he will say we are afraid. We have to go."Adrian nodded. "Then we go together. And we do not let go of each other's hand. Not once."On Saturday night, we arrived at the Carter house. My old house.I had lived there for twenty-four years. But when I stepped out of the car, it felt like a stranger's house.Adrian held my hand tightly. "Remember. Smile. You are the queen. They are small people."We walked in.The dining room was beautiful. Candles. White tablecloth. Expensive wine. Ev
CHAPTER 9: THE SECOND DOCUMENTMia POVI could not forget the photo.Richard and James - Brothers forever. 1998.If my father and Adrian's father were best friends, brothers even, then everything Adrian told me was a lie. Or everything he believed was a lie. That night, I could not sleep. Adrian was in the shower. The sound of the water gave me courage.I walked quietly into his study. It was dark, clean, and cold. Just like him when he wanted to hide something.I opened the drawers one by one. Most of them were empty, or filled with normal company papers. Then I found one drawer that was locked. My heart started beating fast. Why would Adrian lock one drawer in his own house?I took a hairpin from my hair and tried to open it. My hands were shaking. After three tries, it clicked open.Inside was not money. It was not jewelry. It was a single document, folded carefully, as if someone had read it a thousand times. It was a will.I opened it and read it slowly."I, Richard Carter, leave
