Chapter three

Nora's POV

He is really arrogant! We're in his posh limousine now and all through the ride, since I have been asking him some reasonable questions, he hasn't responded to me himself. He keeps telling his bodyguard to do that on his behalf. I mean he is just sitting right there, so why isn't he answering my questions and asking his bodyguard to do that? Was it that hard?

"So, what are your parents like?" I asked him, knowing it was a personal question and his bodyguard may not have an answer to that. The thought of that smart deduction made a smirk curl up my lips.

But to my surprise, the same bodyguard opens his mouth while Aiden just sits there, looking nonchalantly at the screen of his phone. Did he even hear me at all?

"Actually, Mrs. Brooke's is a nice woman but Mr. Brookes is...." the bodyguard's voice trailed off when he was about to mention something about Aiden's dad and I wonder why. I think maybe the comment he had in mind was disapproving and doesn't want to say it in Aiden's presence.

"Just say that he is such a hard man" Aiden however completed the statement for him. I arched my brow at him.

"How? Is he strict?" I inquired.

He sighed deeply before tossing his phone aside. "Like I said woman, he is a hard man, that's all you need to know about him so just compose yourself around him" he said, quite coldly and I frown at him. Arrogant!

"Mum, I'm hungry" Aria said from the other side of the vehicle where she was seated with her brother. The annoying thing is that they had both (Aria and Archie) some snacks at the airport before we left.

"Don't worry baby, I'll get you something to eat soon" I replied her and luckily, she remains silent. Phew...

She has always been the foodie amongst the two of them, and maybe that's why she is physically more mature than her brother.

We approached a large and classy looking boutique and the driver slowly pulls into the parking lot amongst some other expensive looking vehicles.

This boutique is surely for high class personalities.

One of the bodyguards alighted the vehicle and opens Aiden's side of the door for him to alight. I was about to open mine but another bodyguard had already done that for me. I smiled at him as I carefully stepped out. I reached in to carry the twins out too.

Aiden doesn't wait for us but was instead walking into the fancy boutique already. I muttered an inaudible curse before following him behind.

As we stepped into the boutique, I couldn't help but instinctively take a sharp intake of breath. The interior of the boutique was just as fancy as the outside. From the magnificent golden and silver chandeliers that hung above to the meticulously well designed stair cases that took one upstairs. The walls were painted white and I'm sure the paints would cost a lot of thousand pounds. I had to carefully take my steps so as not to damage the glimmering marbled floor that we walked on, even though I'm sure they were encompassed with a load of durability.

As we walked passed the rolls of shelves, my eyes would scan through the fancy and expensive looking dresses that lined up in the shelves. Truly, this was really breathtaking.

"If it isn't my humble billionaire himself" a woman that was approaching us said, all smiles as she embraced Aiden affectionately.

Humble my foot!

"And hello, beautiful queen" the woman said, smiling brightly at me. I smiled back and took her outstretched hand for an handshake.

"Alright, we have no time to waste, right this way" she said and flicked her fingers before turning and moving. As we followed behind her, the realization that Aiden might have informed her about our coming beforehand hit me.

We went to the rolls of shelves which contained varieties of wedding dresses and I couldn't stop myself from drooling over the sight of them. All my life I had only seen these dresses and they weren't in such close proximity, I hadn't thought I would one day be contemplating on which one I would wear.

The woman selected one of the wedding gown and hung it before me. "Would you like to try this one?" she asked.

Really? Is she really asking me right now? I could try out all the dresses in this store right now. But of course, that wasn't possible as we were in a hurry.

I nodded my head and collected the dress from her and went into the dressing room to change into it. When I was finally done squeezing myself into it, I nervously stepped out for assessment by soon-to-be husband.

He looked at me from where he sat, cross legged. He then nonchalantly shook his head negatively and faces his phone again.

Urgh! Really, who does he think he is?

I stepped back into the dressing room when I was given another dress to try out. This went on and on for several minutes, Aiden would just nonchalantly shake his head negatively, not even uttering a single word. He made me feel like a call girl, just showing off my body in different clothes and trying to satisfy him.

Finally, I stepped out of the dressing room in another wedding gown for the umpteenth time. He looks up at me and I think I caught his eyes widen for a moment there. He looks at me a little longer this time and an approving hope sparks in me. He checks his watch and sighed deeply, then looked up and said.

"Sure, that will do"

A frown formed on my face as he said that. It makes it look like he didn't actually like the cloth, but just approve it out of urgency.

I stared back at my reflection in the mirror in the dressing room as make up was being applied on my face. This was the most dressed up I have ever been in my entire life. Of course it would, it was my wedding day. But the fact that I was getting married to someone I just met hours ago, someone that I shared no romantic even platonic bond or whatsoever with, someone who sees me as nothing but a tool to get out of his current problems. Well, I was also doing the same so we're even.

My make up was done and I was led out of the room. Stares from Aiden and my little babies hit me as I stepped outside.

"Yay, mum you look so pretty!" said Archie, in his most eager tone yet. I smiled warmly at him. "Thank you"

Aria just sat there, arms folded as she stared daggers at me. I remembered that I haven't fulfilled her wishes of feeding her.

"Can we go now?" Aiden asked and I couldn't help but to notice the sarcasm in his tone.

"Wait, what about my kids?" I asked him, I couldn't just leave them here.

"They'll have to wait, I can't let my parents know I'm getting married to a mother" he said ever so coldly and I felt my stomach sting. Ouch!

"My bodyguards will look after them and keep them company, I give you my word" he added, probably after he noticed my downcast expression.

"Mum, you can't leave us here" said Aria as she sauntered towards me, hugging my leg and looking up at me with those boggy round eyes of hers.

I gulped and looked at Aiden to help me out here but the bastard was back to his phone again. I kneel before Aria and placed my palms at both sides of her cheeks.

"Aria baby, I won't take long, I promise. We would have all the time we want together" I said to her, trying to convince her.

"I want McDonald's" she blurts out causing my eyelids to flutter wider.

"And I also want to go to the park with Archie" she added. This kid sure knows how to get what she wants.

"Hey, we have no time for all these come on" I heard my fiance's impatient tone say from behind me.

"Alright, Aria, you can have all the McDonald's you want, just tell those men over there..." I said pointing at the two bodyguards that were going to look after them.

"But you can't go to the park, at least not now. I promise when I'm back we'll all go together, uhn" I said, praying within myself for her to agree, she is really hard to convince.

She paused for some seconds without saying anything, probably contemplating on the options given.

"Okay, but promise me you'll be back early so we can all go to the park" she finally said.

"I promise"

"Pinky promise" I used my pinky finger to interlock her tiny premature own and the deal is on. I pecked her on her forehead and spring to my feet.

"Come on, woman" Aiden said and pulled my wrist impatiently, dragging me away with him.

"Bye mum!" said Archie.

"Bye son"

We entered his limousine once again and I suddenly begin to feel tensed up about this whole idea. I'm really going to get married. I am stepping into life long covenant with someone I barely know. My palms began to water and my teeth was uncontrollably clattering upon each other.

Throughout the ride, Aiden didn't say a word to me. He didn't even notice how nervous I am. What if this doesn't work? What if we blow things up? Where would I move to from here?

From the window, I could already sight the church far ahead, slowly becoming larger as we proceeded forward.

This is it...
