Eve's POV
"Ouch!" I hissed, as the burning spirits touched the wounds on the side of my head. "Nuren!"
My maid glared at me. "You have to sit still, Madam! And I have to clean the wounds or you'll get infected."
"I can't have that," I mumbled.
"Good, so you will remain still, yes?"
I bit my lip, trying to keep still as she tended to my wounds. The wounds Tom had inflicted with his fists. It had been barely a day since Tom found me outside the gates with Adam.
And of course, he hadn't been too happy. I suppose I was grateful that he hadn't found the real reason why I was out there with Adam and was just mad that I was out of the gates. If he knew what was between me and Adam, I was doomed. I would go through way worse pain than I did yesterday.
