~ ALISTAIR ~

The conference room on the top floor of Montgomery Tower was silent except for the low sound of the projector and the faint shuffle of papers. The glass walls reflected the skyline beyond—an empire of steel and glass, and mine to command.

I leaned back in my chair leisurely, one hand resting on its armrest, the other tapping lightly against the table.

“Let’s begin,” I ordered.

Across from me, Lara Klein—Montgomery Group’s excellent chief designer—rose to her feet. Impeccably dressed in a tailored black dress, she commanded the room with efficiency.

She was the one who called for this conference, as the Montgomery Group would soon be hosting a major fashion show—showcasing the new summer collections of our most renowned luxury brand, Maison de Vivre.

“As you all know,” she began, her German accent crisp, “Maison de Vivre will unveil its Summer Collection in two months. The show will be held here in New York, during Fashion Week, and we intend to set the tone for the entire

~ LIANA ~The moment Alistair stormed into that restaurant, I nearly exploded with burning anger and jealousy. But when I saw him dragging Isla out with that stormy expression, my lips curled at the edges. Finally, she would be humiliated in front of everyone, and I was there to witness it.I’d been itching to lash back at her after everything, to vent my hatred—but I forced myself to hold back. Society has always known me as the good and graceful young lady of the Bennett family. And I intend to keep it that way.I will make sure Isla always stays in my shadow.Stacey, however, completely burst out when she saw Isla and Tyler together. She trembled with rage the entire time, nails digging into her palms from clenching them tightly.Earlier, one of my people tipped me off that Tyler made a surprise visit to Isla in the hospital and even invited her to lunch. So I had someone follow him and I also invited Stacey here. The plan was perfect. She almost made a scene, but I stopped her and

~ ISLA ~He sat down beside me without a flicker of hesitation, his tall frame radiating a quiet dominance. His expression was colder than ever, and the warm ambience of the restaurant immediately turned into an ice cave.He didn’t even look at me. Instead, his cold gaze slid straight to Tyler across the table.“Hello, cousin.” His low, deep voice rang through my ears.My jaw dropped. Cousin? Tyler and he were cousins?Tyler’s warm smile faltered, a genuine shock flashing across his face too as he looked at Alistair. My mind went completely blank. I stared between them, words tumbling out before I could stop myself.“C-Cousin? Wait, are you… you’re related to each other?” My voice cracked embarrassingly, but I couldn’t care less.Tyler was the first to recover. The shock melted from his features, replaced by that easy, effortless composure of his. He leaned back against the booth, lips quirking with a half-smile.“Unfortunately,” he answered in a half-teasing tone, his gaze flicking

~ ISLA ~By the time my shift ended, I was already exhausted. I slumped against my chair, staring blankly at the charts piled on my desk.Being a doctor is truly draining. If not for the fact that I treasured this job so much, I would’ve collapsed a long time ago. But every time I see patients who need my help more than I can even give myself, I find another reason to continue my calling—to save lives.I closed my eyes for a moment and leaned back, trying to replenish some energy. But it only lasted a few seconds before my phone buzzed on the desk.A new message flashed across the screen.I picked it up and opened the text.> This is Tyler. I’m already waiting at Le Jardin Étoilé.I blinked at it, stunned. If he hadn’t reminded me, I probably would’ve forgotten about it.Everyone knew that name. Le Jardin Étoilé wasn’t just a restaurant—it was one of the most exclusive fine dining places in New York City. The kind of place where celebrities, politicians, and magnates dined without bei

~ ISLA ~For a moment, my mind went blank. The man standing in the doorway wasn’t just handsome. He was familiar. Very familiar, actually. That sharp jawline, those beautiful green eyes, and the easy confidence in his smile—I had seen that face countless times on magazine covers, billboards, and television screens. The one and only Tyler Grant.Hollywood’s golden star. The man who could make entire arenas scream with a single grin. And the same man we had operated on for a brain tumor just weeks ago.My breath hitched. As in—it really faltered for many seconds! No wonder the entire office was buzzing—and half of them looked like they were ready to faint.“Hello, Dr. Bennett,” he greeted softly, a gentle smile spread on his gorgeous face.He strode into the room smoothly, unbothered by the many eyes watching us.He wore a crisp white shirt tucked neatly into his tailored charcoal trousers, topped with a dark coat—giving him an air of quiet sophistication. This was the first time I had

~ ISLA ~When I woke up the next morning, the sun was already rising—its gentle, warm light filtered through the floor-to-ceiling windows.I blinked slowly, adjusting to the brightness, and lay there for a moment, still groggy, before the realization hit me.The sharp ache in my abdomen was gone.I pushed the quilt down and pressed a hand lightly against my stomach, almost not believing it.There was no pain anymore. Not even the faint cramp that usually lingered. When I thought of Alistair taking care of me last night, my cheeks heated involuntarily. I turned to the other side of the bed, but he was nowhere to be seen. The space beside me was empty, and the pillow was neatly arranged. He must have left hours ago.I forced myself to sit up. The last clear memory I had from last night was his hand pressing the warm compress against me, his deep voice murmuring something low that blurred as sleep pulled me under.Honestly, it still felt surreal. He’s Alistair Montgomery, okay? But tendi

~ ISLA ~Alistair stopped that instant, his gaze flicking across my crumpled face. I really couldn’t help my expression from becoming contorted. The mind-blowing pleasure seconds ago was immediately replaced by unbearable pain, along with the sudden flow of liquid.God… when will this embarrassment stop?Alistair lifted himself off me and sat down beside me. I also sat up and fixed myself without meeting his eyes. But when I saw the spot where I had lain, wet with period blood, I stiffened. When I turned to Alistair, he was looking at it too.Another wave of mortification struck me. I was about to get up, but his hand held my arm.“Stay still,” he ordered in his usual cold voice, but there was something different this time—a subtle edge of concern beneath the cold exterior. My mind was still working—processing everything that had happened—when I felt something warm placed on my lower abdomen. My eyes flew open as I looked up at him, instantly meeting his deep gaze. And I was completel
