4. The Mistress' Anger

Adam's sharp gaze struck the heart of Sabrina's feelings. A powerful way to make people who feel guilty feel even more guilty.

"I was having fun … a little," Sabrina replied flatly. She didn't avoid Adam's eyes, trying to hide her feelings of guilt for kissing a man other than the man in front of her. Even though, in this case, she was innocent... err, maybe she was a little guilty of enjoying and welcoming Leo's kiss.

"With whom? Where?" Adam demanded. He didn't like Sabrina's distinctive way of arguing. There must be something she's hiding. "Earlier, I went to your room many times. I waited for more than two hours, and you haven't come back yet."

Sabrina turned around and said, "None of your business whom I'm going with!" She kept walking, entered the bathroom, and said, "Besides, I didn't know you'd come so soon. Usually, you're busily lulling your wife to sleep, right?"

"Sabrina! What's wrong with you?" Adam snapped at her. He didn't understand why Sabrina suddenly seemed to blame him. "Don't get angry for no good reason!"

Sabrina ignored Adam's anger. She then walked into the bathroom and was about to lock the door. However, Adam caught up with her and pinned the now disheveled woman against the wall.

"Let go of me, Adam!" Sabrina snapped rebelling. She doesn't like the ‘kabe-don’ scene that she often sees in the comics. Fun to read, but not necessarily fun to live. "Don't be rude! Don’t act as if you owned me!"

Adam was upset, ignoring Sabrina's anger. He was about to forcefully kiss Sabrina. However, the man sniffed out an unnatural smell. "You … smell of alcohol and cigarettes!"

Sabrina's heart sank. She was afraid that Adam would know more than this. Moreover, her man was now sniffing her more closely.

"It smells like another man's perfume!" Adam exclaimed with mounting emotion. Sabrina stared in horror, realizing that she had not prepared for this situation. She thought that Adam would not catch her like this.

The man was furious, pinching Sabrina's chin and cheeks roughly. "What are you doing with another man, huh? You're having an affair with a man out there?"

"Aaahh! It hurts, Adam!" protested Sabrina, screaming. She tried to swat Adam's hand away but failed.

Adam's left fingers were currently pressing his woman's hands firmly against the wall. While his right hand pressed the weak woman's cheek strongly. Naturally, Sabrina struggled.

"How dare you let another man touch you!" Adam's anger could no longer be contained. The tall man was now causing Sabrina even more pain. He tore off Sabrina's clothes and looked for other marks there.

"Get your damn hands off me!” Sabrina snapped through tears. “You think you're always right, huh? Like you're not even guilty of anything! You're such a selfish bastard!"

Sabrina's snap silenced Adam and loosened his grip. He looked at Sabrina who was crying and was about to kiss her gently. But the woman whose clothes were torn now dodged quickly.

"Have you ever thought about how I'm feeling right now? How does it feel to be on a honeymoon with someone else's husband? Even though I'm the one you love! But you've only taken Maya out for a walk and eaten out in public!" snapped Sabrina harshly. Her anger was unstoppable. "What about me? The one who waits for you every damn night! And only for a few hours because you gotta go back to Maya's room before she wakes up!"

Adam was silent in the face of Sabrina's tantrum. His beloved couldn't hold back the tears that were getting heavier, especially seeing Adam just stiffly standing there, not answering anything. Not apologizing one bit.

"Are you the only one who can kiss two women at the same time? Are you the only one who can touch two women?" Sabrina snapped harder. It sounded more like a piercing scream. "Don't you know how heartbroken I am, Adam? Don't you know that my chest feels tight every time I see you walking hand-to-hand with Maya?"

"Sabrina! I'm doing this because—"

"Because of the fucking plan to get your father’s money, right? But sorry! This shit is so damn hard for me, honorable Mr. Adam!" Sabrina stormed out of the bathroom and slammed the door. Adam quickly followed and tried to restrain Sabrina. "This shit is too hard for me! I shouldn't have agreed to this stupid fucking request! Let's end this fucking stupid relationship!"

Sabrina brushed off Adam's hand which was trying to prevent her from leaving. She then swiftly ran out of the room. Only one goal in mind! Room 703. The only room that would comfort her and offer warmth when she was feeling down.

Meanwhile, Adam was devastated by Sabrina's words about breaking up. What went wrong with the plan? Didn't Sabrina agree that they would spend their honeymoon like this?

Were it not for his father's watchful eye, Adam would have taken his women on separate honeymoons. But his father would easily find out that he was going out with Sabrina if he did that.

Sneaking out of his planned schedule with Maya was the best way to create an alibi. It was like covering a comic book with a Physics book while you were studying under your parents’ noses.

Unexpectedly, Sabrina was unable to withstand the pain of acting. She needed more recognition as his woman.

"Aaarrrgghh!" Adam hit the wall with all his might until his hands ached. He needed to apologize to Sabrina so he wouldn't lose his love.

Wearily, Adam returned to Maya's room. He forgot to sneak around, so Maya, who had been sleeping, woke up.

"What's wrong, honey?" asked Maya with concern. "You can't sleep?"

Adam just shook his head, hiding what he was thinking. "Just some work problem."

"We can go home earlier if you want," Maya suggested with a yawn. She looked still sleepy. This holiday was making her lazy. "Besides, I don't want to stay here too long."

"Yo, actually, an old buddy hit me up and wanted to meet up nearby. But at a different hotel." Adam's common sense kicked in. The game was on.

"Old client?" Maya asked innocently, not realizing that her husband was up to something that would hurt her feelings. "Which client? Maybe I can help."

"He's a former client from before you started working as a secretary. Looks like he wants to start doing business with me again," Adam replied casually, trying to sound convincing.

Maya nodded in understanding. "Do you need me to come with you?" she asked, curious about the client who wanted to work with them again after such a long break.

"I don't think so. He didn't bring his wife or secretary either," Adam quickly responded. "But I'm worried you might get bored by yourself."

Adam looked at Maya with concern, not because he was worried about her getting bored, but because he was afraid she would catch on to his lies. To be honest, he still didn't know Maya very well and how much she knew about his past.

"Then go! I'll be fine here. I won't get bored if it's just for one day!" Maya answered with a sweet smile, trying to ease her husband's worries. But inside, she felt a little disappointed. What woman wouldn't be disappointed if her husband had to work during their honeymoon?

"Um, actually, I might be gone for four days. I'll try—"

"Sure, no problem, honey! Work comes first!" Maya answered with an even bigger smile. The bigger the smile, the bigger the disappointment she was trying to hide. She didn't want to come off as a demanding or spoiled wife who kept her husband away from working. "Don't worry about me. I can find my own things to do around here. The view is beautiful, and I want to explore more of this place."

Adam was pleased with Maya's answer. He hugged and kissed her, wanting to play the part of a husband who couldn't bear to be separated from his wife during their honeymoon.

And so, he decided to give Maya a gift. "Then I should give you a special treat before I go."

Maya's disappointment vanished instantly as Adam's skilled hands and tongue pleased her. The chilly morning turned hot and exciting, and they made love until Maya was exhausted and fell asleep in a sweet dream.

Once Maya was asleep, Adam sneaked out of the room. He rang Sabrina's doorbell, but there was no answer. Sabrina hadn't returned to her room yet. He tried calling her, but she didn't pick up.

"Honey, please answer my call," Adam whispered. He couldn't reach Sabrina the previous night because her phone was off. But now, Sabrina's phone was on, and he needed to talk to her.

After several attempts, luck was on Adam's side. Sabrina finally picked up the phone.

"What do you want?" Sabrina said curtly.

Adam felt a pang of fear at Sabrina's hostile tone, but he was relieved that she had picked up the phone.

"Honey, I'm sorry. Let’s fix our honeymoon. Listen to my plan, Sabrina. I'm going to leave Maya. It'll be just the two of us."
