CHAPTER THREE

ALEXANDER

I heaved a sigh of relief as I sank into my bed. The long day was finally over, and I was here again in the comfort of my room.

Although, the day was not over. But, since I left... it was over for me.

I would just sleep and forget that I ever got married.

I had barely closed my eyes when my phone began to vibrate. I sat up and grabbed my phone.

I picked up the call and placed the cell phone close to my ear as I rubbed my eyes.

"Hello," I called out.

I didn't check who the caller was earlier.

"Alex!" My father's voice sounded like thunder, and my eyes cleared immediately.

I adjusted on my bed and said nothing as I waited for him to continue ranting.

"You always have reasons to embarrass me, Alex," he blamed me. "Why was your bride with James on your wedding day? Why did you leave and make her feel lonely?"

My heart sank. I already knew this was going to happen. I was not bothered about why I was being blamed for my wife's mistake, too. I was already used to it.

I wondered why it had to be James she'd talk to. Our potential enemy and competitor in the business world. His high achievements and rank made me always jealous of him.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

I'd gather answers before he finished explaining. I had no idea about what was going on.

"I asked you to get married to someone who already has a stand in the business world. Someone who, even though her family was running into bad debt, we could take advantage of and steal the company ."

He paused for a while and hissed.

"Do you know what happens if the world finds out this is a contract marriage? Alex, think about it... think...."

"Dad," I called, cutting him short. "Enough of these. The only reason I married her was to remain the CEO and to prove to the company that I could own a family. The reason I chose her was because she is also a CEO, and the company would love her."

I knew my father would slap his forehead, and there the sound went. He did that whenever I opposed him.

"Dad, I was on the verge of losing my company. Our hard work for years. Do you think I'd sit back and watch? Because of what you said to the investors."

The company wanted its CEO to have a family. They also didn't want me to end up like my dad.

"So, you do not have plans of helping me ruin the Grandes?" He asked me. "After all they did to me?"

I rolled my eyes and shook my head. I knew my dad and Sally's father had been enemies for a while because my dad was in love with Sally's mom, and she chose another man over him.

It was in the past already. He got a surrogate, and he had a son. Thanks to him, I would never get to meet my mother.

"And you think ruining the old man is the best?" I asked him.

He didn't respond.

"It's been years now. Come off it, Dad."

"That is none of your business," he snapped. "You'll help me with the revenge no matter what you do. For now, I want you to go online and see for yourself. Handle it before she brings shame to Alexander's. "

Immediately when Dad hung up, I turned on my data, and Sally's picture was all over the Internet. Bloggers were asking why she was with James rather than me.

They all asked why I had to leave. Nobody was talking about the fact that she was with another man and smiling like a complete idiot.

I stared at the picture with so much disgust. The smile on her face wasn't ordinary. It seemed like she had feelings for James.

A few people knew about the conflict between James and I. They would wonder why I asked him to keep my wife company while I was away.

I scrolled through the comments on the picture, and I was right.

"He had the guts to ask James to pretend to be him."

"Imagine how he left his wedding before it even ended."

"I always knew there was something about this, Alexander. What an idol you all have."

I stood up from the bed and hurried out of my room with my phone tightly locked in my hand.

I went straight to Sally's room, and without knocking, I kicked the door open.

"You weren't taught how to knock before badging into people's rooms?" She demanded. "What if I was naked?"

I stared at the maids. They had all paused and were staring at me like a ghost.

"You can't sleep in my room," Sally told me.

I wanted to remind her that this was my house, but I decided to let it pass first.

I knew I would take down the pictures before dawn. And I would also clear the air later. But Sally needed to know that she shouldn't act this way.

"Leave us!" I ordered the maids, and they scurried away.

I closed the door and began walking towards Sally. She took steps backwards in fear until her back touched the wall.

"What the fuck is this?" I shouted into her face as I handed her the phone.

Her hands were shaking when she took the phone from me. Her buggy eyes scanned through the phone quickly.

Her expression lightened, and she dropped her hand. She sighed and stared at me without any remorse.

"So?" She asked.

I scoffed. Didn't she just see the pictures? Did she not read the caption?

"This wedding means nothing to me, Alex," she told me coldly.

I grabbed her by the arm. No woman had ever spoken to me that way. She searched my face, moving her big eyeballs continuously, and it caused me to swallow hard.

"This is my life, Sally," I spoke into her mouth as I tightened my grip on her arm. "You can not do whatever you want right now because I own you."

She scoffed and tried to pull her arms off. I tightened my grip, and I could feel my fingers piercing her flesh.

"You are hurting me, Alex," she whispered in a soft tone, and it sounded like she was moaning my name.

I inhaled sharply. I was getting dirty thoughts about this woman already, and it amazed me.

"As long as this contract lasts, you are mine. You can not behave in ways that you wish to. Of course, you have the right to do whatever you wish. But, not what would tarnish my image or give us out. "

"Let go!" She commanded.

I opened my palms, and she moved her hands backwards. She hit her elbow on the wall, and I quickly grabbed her hand to help massage her elbow.

"Fuck you!" She cursed, as she forced her hands from me. She sounded like she was going to break down.

I felt sorry for her because I knew how bad that hurt. But my pity disappeared immediately when she began to speak again.

"Why are you getting angry?" She scolded me. "If you were seated beside me. James would never show up there."

I folded my fist.

"The only reason James was there was for formality's sake. He's an enemy to the family and should not be seen around you."

She lowered her gaze, but I was still aware that she wasn't sorry.

"I don't care what you have with James. But, please... keep it off the Internet. "

She pursed her lips and shut her eyes. When she opened them, she lifted them to look up at me.

I gulped down at the sight. She was effortlessly beautiful, and I didn't notice it earlier.

Well, that didn't mean that I'd love her.

I would die if those wide emerald eyes peered into my soul as I wrapped a fist around her neck while burrowing my cock into her as deep as it can go. I know she would take me so well even though she's probably one foot shorter than I am.

I killed the thoughts immediately. It was completely wrong for me to think about her in that manner.

"You are a coward!" Her voice came out as sharp as a knife.

I grabbed her by the neck, but I didn't tighten my grip in a way that would hurt her so much.

"How dare you?"

"Why did you marry me if you would act this way? Why did you even go ahead with a fixed wedding in the first place? You're a coward and not a man."

While she spoke, my fist was already folded into a blow. Ready to punch her.

"Now I'd show you if I'm truly a coward or a man. "

I lifted my fist against her face, and she shut her eyes and pressed her lips.

Her red love-shaped lips called my name, and instead of punching her, I rested my hand on the wall around her, let go of her neck quickly, and grabbed her waist.

I moved her close to myself and locked my lips with hers trying to kiss her hard till she shut her foul mouth as she continued to struggle in my hand but I didn't let go until I felt a sharp pain in my groin.

"Are you crazy, Sally?" I shouted, holding my lower abdomen.

"Next time, you will think twice before you try to force that guttermouth to mine."

I moved towards her and she didn't move. She shut her eyes tightly, and I would swear that I didn't know when I kissed her again.

Fuck it! her lips were addictive.
