LUCY'S Pov

We walked up the stairs his hand around waist while I tried to breath. "Mr. Shane," a reporter yelled and we both turned to him.

"What are you doing with Miss. Lucy?" The balding man asked with zeal in his ryes. Shane turned toe with a warm smile and fond eyes. "She's my wife,"

Gasp filled the air and man rushed to write it down. "Miss Lucy," another called and i looked around trying to place a face but that seemed harder than i exprected. "Is true the marriage is all a fake?"

I stopped in shock turning to Dhane. His eyes searched the crowd and I caught his haw tick. We couldn't place the reporter but whoever had said that was loud enough and the reporters whispered amongst themselves.

I cursed under my breath already dreading the night to come. "Mr. Is it true? Was the marriage all planned?" The balding man asked shoving the microphone in my face. dhane's grip on my waist tightened and he led me away.

"That wasn't supposed to happen was it?" I asked and he cursed under

Dwayne’s POV “Don't bother,” I muttered, sipping my drink. “Why not? Look at what he did to you,” she complained. “Mom, I know. I saw myself earlier. Don't act yet.”She froze, examining me with her eyes. “Have you gone soft, Dwayne?”I dropped the whiskey, then raised my gaze to her. For a second, I saw a flash of Shane smiling at me from when we were kids. Our laughs and giggles as we played, chasing each other. But it was useless to me now. I blinked and the memory disappeared. “How's your husband?” I asked, my voice went dead flat. “He's been handled,” she said, smiling wickedly. I raised a brow. What did she mean by ‘handled’? “What did you do?” I asked. “He'll be dead by the end of the week. I paid someone to take him off. Who knew having doctors around would be a plus?” She said proudly. “He's not going to wake up. Why not leave him as a vegetable?” I asked, masking my feelings of not supporting her. “Nah, him breathing gives Shane enough time to keep ruing our plans

  • The Billionaires Game    Chapter 52

Dwayne’s POV “Ugh,” I groaned, pressing the tissue into my bleeding nostril. Shane has always known how to throw a punch, but it was worth it because he was going to have bad publicity the next day. I had carefully installed reporters at the restaurant before I arrived and all I needed to do was rest. He had broken my nose. My secretary had called my doctor and booked an appointment so I could get it fixed. “Ah, shit,” I breathed as I thought of the possibilities of having a swollen face after the red construction surgery.Maybe, I should have taken another plan. But I doubted anyone would have been able to piss him off as much as I did. “That bloody bastard. I'm going to break his jaw next time I see him.”“And how are you going to do that?” Xandra said, taking me by surprise. I had forgotten she was with me. I ignored her and continued holding my nose waiting for the pain to die down. “All that talking big and threatening me just makes me see you as weak,” she continued. “I

  • The Billionaires Game    Chapter 51

Shane's POV “CHAMPIONS!" “MVP!” My team and supporters screamed as I lifted the trophy. The confetti poured from the ceiling, sticking to the sweat on my body. The captain leaped over to us, and carried the trophy as we all cheered. Then, I saw him, standing at the other side, with his teammates in the background looking gloomy..some slapped him on the back while the others looked at us, and shook their heads. He was angry, his face showed it. His fists clenched and his face turned red. Our eyes met and I smirked. He could be a sore loser all he wanted. I looked away from him, and joined my team in celebrating. I didn't abandon him. He did it to me and challenged me to get better. From the corner of my eyes, I saw him take his jersey and throw it to the floor before leaving he court. I got tired of taking pictures and disappeared to the men's restroom the second I saw the chance. There was no way I was sacrificing my balls for some pictures that wouldn't make it to my alb

  • The Billionaires Game    Chapter 50

Shane's POVThe game went like lightning, my legs felt every movement as I shot through the defenders, pushing past hands that flashed out to grab the ball. I shot the first goal and the crowd cheered. Then the second in a minute. Mom screamed my name from the crowd just like the crowd. The ball was thrown to me again, but this time I was surrounded by three Dark Tusks members. I ducked from the first, easily passing the second and was about to escape the third when someone hit me. I fell, rolling in the court and I heard the whistle. “Goal!”“Shit!” I cursed. I hit up, looking straight to see Dwayne smirking at me. He had just pushed me and he didn't get a strike or warning. It would be hard to since he was stealth about it. This meant war and I went right for it. I wasn't losing to him. We ran towards the ball and I ducked under a giant’s arm, avoiding the next and tossed the ball to James. He caught it, jumped and fired the ball. It entered the net and an uproar grew. The chee

  • The Billionaires Game    Chapter 49

Shane's POV Dwayne and I avoided each other at school. He switched seats and I felt terrible. He wouldn't talk to me and I blamed myself. I should never have told him that way. He also tried to change basketball teams after a series of us bashing into each other while playing which I never started but somehow I was being knocked down every damn time. We stopped talking completely. It was complete silence and we became strangers. We went from sitting in the same seat at lunch and laughing to being separated. We were strangers overnight. The PE coach has refused to let us change teams initially thinking it was just some childish rant and anger that would die down, only it never did. We were constantly at each other's neck and our rivalry grew. After two weeks of bashing each other and giving cold glances, the PE coach finally let us go to separate groups. The first time we battled as opponents, my team lost and I was the cause. I kept passing the ball wrongly and zoning out becaus

  • The Billionaires Game    Chapter 48

Shane's POVTwo Weeks Later:It was the weekend and we were having dinner. Meredith and Dwayne were seated and everything was going fine.I swallowed my food, eating my mashed potatoes while Meredith laughed. It annoyed the crap out of me. Dad acted like nothing was wrong and kept talking. They weren't even trying to hide it or show remorse since I caught them. I watched them talking and laughing like lovers while mom third wheeled. My blood boiled as I heard Dad crack stupid jokes and Dwayne responding to them with even more stupid jokes.I picked the chicken angrily and began slicing on my plate. It didn't cut, pushing me over the edge and I grabbed it and bit hard into it tearing the flesh.“Yo, man. Easy will ya? The chicken's not running,” Dwayne joked.Everyone laughed but I didn't find it funny. “I'm hungry,” I said with a full mouth.“Darling, don't talk with food in your mouth. You're going to choke,” Mom cautioned.I nodded. Dad noticed my gaze and he blinked, looking away t
