MEETING GONE WRONG

Sonya's pov

I walked into the restaurant, my eyes scanning the environment for Callum as I was being directed to my reservation. I took my seat, glancing at the watch on my wrist. I got there ten minutes-delinquent, but still Callum was nowhere to be found.

I glanced towards the door yet again, but still no sign of him. I took a deep breath, heading to the restroom to retouch my makeup. I could not help the feeling of nervousness I felt as I waited for Callum.

“Why am I so Tauten,” I said to myself as I stood before the mirror, reapplying my gloss and recalling the previous night. The look on Callum's face when he said those things were genuine.

“Could he really mean those things?” I asked myself, looking lost into the mirror as my hands trailed my collarbone.

“No Sonya, you are just overthinking, you are just going to talk about the refund and that’s all” I said to myself more reassuringly, heading out of the restroom and back to my seat.

WHAT HAVE I DONECallum’s pov“Em, that was a mistake” I said leaning in close to the microphone.“Well thank you everyone for coming and have a good night” I said, leaving the stage hastily as I headed straight to the car.I was in disbelief. Sonya clouded my thoughts so much I just publicly humiliated myself.I sat in the car, slamming my hands against the steering repeatedly as I waited for Stephen. I knew I was never going to hear the end of it from him.I started imagining what the media will say about it by morning, how much tantrum Amanda would throw when the news got to her.“I am screwed!” I muttered through gritted teeth. The car door swung open, Stephen took his seat on the passenger's seat next to me. I could tell from the look on his face that he was fighting the urge to laugh so hard.“Laugh all you want Steph.” I said, wallowing in my own disdain. The surge of laughter that erupted from Stephen had me clench my fist.I was so mad at myself and at him.“Sonya probably th

LURKING GUILTCallum’s pov“Why did I feel guilty kissing her?” I thought to myself as I poured a glass of liquor. I walked out into the garden. The chill breeze washed on my face, making me recall my night with Sonya.I blinked hard, shaking my head. “I cannot keep doing this to Amanda,” I said to myself, but a part of me knew I was in too deep. Although Sonya was far from me, I was happy with where we were in reconciliation.I stared up in the sky, thinking of what she was up to, wondering if she was also thinking of me. I chuckled as I chugged down what was left in my glass, going back to sleep.Next morning, I headed straight to the apartment I had met Soya. I put a call through to Stephen to meet up with me there. After what had happened with Amanda, I could not bring mys to face her. A huge part of me felt sad for how I was treating her, but I just couldn’t help it. All I can think of is Sonya. Her entire existence clouds my thoughts.I head straight to my usual room on gettin

CAN’T DO THISCallum’s povI took a long drive to the penthouse, after meeting with Stacy, it was clear she was not going to tell me whatever was going on.I took a deep sigh, observing the scenery as I sat by the pool. I could not help but wonder if Sonya was not doing ok.As much as I tried not to think of her, a hinge part of my mind kept drifting back to her. I dived into the pool, needing the wave of ease that I felt when my body met the water. I had this penthouse remodeled to my taste a while back. It was my safe heaven and I only visited it when I needed time alone.I came out of the water, moving to take a towel when I noticed my phone vibrate. I reached for it, my brows furrowed when I saw the caller. I could not make sense of who it was that was calling.I answered the call, holding my breath as I waited for the caller to speak.“Callum, I am sorry for how our last meet up went” the voice sounded familiar, I tilted my head trying to recall whose voice it was.“Stacy??” I s

SECOND CHANCE I looked mum in the eye like I had just seen a ghost.“Mum, what's going on?” I asked, still shocked from what she had just said.“You have to leave this house, and this town, Sonya, you are obviously not healed yet, and it’s changing you” she continued, moving closer to me now.“You have to stay as far away from Callum as possible” she dropped the bombshell.“B-but mum, I still have work to do here, right Stacy” I said looking to Stacy for support.“Sonya, I will keep all these from Callum if you choose to leave” she added, avoiding my gaze as she spoke.“Go out there and find yourself, when that is done you can come back” she said her tone was shaky as she spoke. I could tell she was having a hard time breaking the news. I had only just come back to my parents after a long time and I was not ready to leave them yet.“Stacy, tell mum we cannot Leave” I said, my gaze moving towards Stacy who was fondling a pen she had with her nervously.“Sonya, I think it’s for the bes

SORRY Sonya’s POVI woke up to a stinging pain in my head, my arms felt heavy. The familiar sent of medicine that filled the air made me instantly realize where I was.I tilted my eyes trying to recall how I ended up in the hospital, but all I could remember was in a blur. Before long, the doctor came in with my mum and Sonya following closely behind her. The average height man, examined the drip tubes and gave me some medications before leaving. The atmosphere in the ward was tense. Stacy and mum hag the same cold look. Stacy had her face to the ground and I could tell something was bothering her.“I am fine now, you don’t have to wear that look”I said, making to seat on the bed as I addressed them both.I could not quite tell what was going on, “Did something happen?” I probed further, looking keenly at them.“Stop!” Mum said sternly. Her gaze hardened as the looked at me, visibly mad.“We will talk about what ever is wrong when you are discharged” she added, her tone softened as

BLESSING IN DISGUISEStacy’s pov“What was that?” I said to myself, I could not understand why Callum was so desperate to know what was going onAfter the event at the clinic with Sonya, I decided it was best to just respect her decision and not say a thing to Callum. I did not want to bring more misery to my friend.I felt bad for telling him anything to start with.“I am sorry Callum, but I can’t tell you more” I said to myself as I pulled into the parking lot of Sonya’s parents house.I got in and found no one. “Where is everyone? ” I said to one of the maids who took care of the house.“Oh miss Stacy, miss Sonya was rushed to the hospital” my heart raced from what she said.I reached for my phone in my bag but could not find it, then I recalled leaving it in the car.I dashed out immediately, heading to the car. I started the ignition and picked up my phone from the passenger's seat. The number of calls I had missed from Sonya’s mum made my heart race.I drove as fast as I could

A HUNCH As soon as the kids left, she turned towards me, her gaze fixated on mine“ What was that about?” She asked, glaring.I dropped my cutlery aggressively, turning my gaze towards her“Why did you have someone go after Sonya” I yelled,“I saw him last night and I saw your text” I added, now pacing around the room.“I didn’t send anyone to hurt your precious ex wife Callum” she yelled, walking towards me as she glared.“Why are you so defensive of her? You can never have her back Callum; you are married to me” she added.“I sent my men to trail you, why were you following her Callum, your infidelity will be the end of your I assure you Callum” She added and stormed out.I started into thin air.Did Amanda find out about what happened between Sonya and II suddenly went silent, watching her yell in front of me but I was distracted. All I could think about was the fact that she had found out about Sonya and I and she probably wanted Sonya out for it.“Amanda I am sorry!” I blurt

BLACK OUTCallum’s POVSonya stood right in front of me, I was shocked, I had not expected to see her here let alone drunk. I was still in my conflicting thoughts when her hands ran through my face. She hit me in the hardest way possible, but it didn’t matter, I immediately knew that whatever brought her to the bar had something to do with me.I looked behind her, my eyes scanning through the streets but there was no one there. I could have sworn I saw someone push her door shut violently. I had dashed into the scene to help the lady in distress but was shocked to see Sonya.“ don’t you get it, stop following me” she glared at me.“I wasn’t, I promise” I said, “Why did you have so much to drink” I asked, making her stable as she struggled to stand still.“You don’t get to care now Callum,” she shoved me away as she got in the car, driving off.I stood still, watching as her car headed down the streets, I could not help but feel sad for her. Every cell of my being wanted to follow h
