Nadine walked into the hospital ward where her twin sister was lying unconscious. She had locked the door behind her but she raised her eyes at it to be sure it was locked.

“Madine, all I wanted was your car but you refused to give it to me so I ruined the break. I didn't know you were going to have an accident though, it was not part of the plan and I cried because of what I did. I almost confessed it to Dad and Mom but they were so worried about you, that they ignored me.” Nadine paused and smiled softly before moving Madine’s hair behind her ear.

“But I got to understand that Karma was the one that hit you hard. You knew that Trenton and I attended the same private high school and I fell in love with him. It was even because of him I told Mom and Dad to buy a beach house beside theirs so I could see him but you went and seduced him. Now, he came to claim you but you are half dead. Guess who is going to be his bride in the next two weeks? Me. Not you Madine. It is me.” Nadine smiled again and then arranged her curly strands well.

“Madine, I pray you never wake up. Life is beginning to look up for me. I didn't pass college exams so I thought I wouldn't be successful but look at me, I am going to marry the youngest billionaire in the world.” Nadine laughed sardonically almost like a psychotic person.

She stopped and then stared at her sister who slept like the sleeping beauty. However to her miserable shock, the next second, Madine opened her eyes. Nadine balked, and her eyes went wide in their sockets.

“You.... You are awake?” She almost fell off the sofa.

“You are my sister, yet you do that to me?” Madine breathed out with despair while trying to sit up.

“How can you be so cruel to me, Nadine!” Madine shouted, tears gathering in her eyes.

Nadine trembled until she was on the floor. She didn't believe that Madine would wake up this soon.

“You... You can't be awake now.” She blurted making Madine raise her eyes toward her.

“I can't be awake now? You don't even feel remorseful, do you?” Madine shook her head and then got off the bed. She started to look around making Nadine wonder what she was looking for.

And then Madine found the telephone.

“I am going to tell Mom and Dad everything you did. You were the one that toyed with the break of my car. And when I get out of here, I will tell Trent Hudson of your evil plans!” Marine threatened, dialing a number on the telephone.

Nadine's eyes went wide with anxiety. And then her body trembled terribly. She started to think of what to do. She kept telling herself that she had to stop Madine. Trent shouldn't find out about this, he would hate her. Her parents would hate her as well.

“No, I won't let you win. I won't let you defeat me again!” She rushed to her and grabbed the telephone. Then she threw it off the table making Madine glare at her both with shock and anger.

“Why are you doing this, Nadine? Why are you being such a witch!” Madine shouted.

“Because I cannot let them hate me. You are the problem so you should go back to the coma.” Nadine grabbed the flask on the table gently without Madine’s knowledge. She raised it high in the air and almost jerked Madine with it but she was quick to move away.

“Nadine!” Madine shouted as she moved away. She didn't think that her sister would ever try to harm her.

“Madine, go back to the coma, please. It is better that way!” Nadine cried, her body shaking.

“Nadine, stop. We are sisters and we shouldn't be doing this.” Madine sighed and then rubbed her forehead. She walked closer to Nadine with her hands open.

“You are my sister and I love you but don't be like this.” She wrapped her hands around Nadine and then touched her hair softly.

“I want Trenton, I can't let him go,” Nadine whispered, her body still trembling.

Madine disengaged in anger and looked into her face. “Why do you always want what is mine? Everything I work hard for, you always want it? Why?” Madine bellowed.

“Because... Because you don't deserve it.” Nadine grabbed the flask again and this time, she was so fast, Madine wasn't able to move away. The moment Madine fell to the floor, Nadine realized what she had done.

“What... What did I just do?! What got into me?” Her lips trembled while her eyes moved around with fear.

She gently bent beside Madine, breathing heavily and shaking.

“I am sorry, Madine. I am really sorry but Trenton is mine.” She tried to touch her but her hands were too shaky to be balanced. However, she managed to check if she had a pulse but got nothing.

“What did I do? What did I just do?! What should I do now?” She breathed out worriedly. In the end, she placed Madine on the bed. The flask didn't cut Madine hence there was no blood.

“Madine, maybe you deserve to die so I can enjoy my life. I... I am sorry.” With this, she picked up her bag and walked out.

She got in her car and started to breathe in and out repeatedly. Her body was shaking and her system was unstable.

“Nadine you didn't do anything wrong. You only secured your future. You deserve to live a good life.” She reminded herself although her entire mind was a mess. Suddenly, her phone rang making her jolt up.

“Nadine, have you agreed to my proposal?” His voice sounded in her ear and instantly regret set in. She should have checked the name before picking it up.

“Madine is in a coma, how can you marry her? Grey don't ever call me again!” She shouted and then ended the call. Grey was her ex-boyfriend who had been disturbing her about Madine saying he loved her now.

Such a ridiculous man she had dated.

She dropped her phone and resumed her thoughts.

Had Madine truly died? She checked for pulse but got nothing. Had she truly killed her twin sister? The thought of it made her tremble once more.

Her phone rang at the same time making her jolt again, she picked it up and brought it to her ear.

“I said don't ever call me again!” She yelled.

“Who is bothering you, princess?” His thick voice sounded on the other end making her eyes widen surprisingly, it calmed Nadine. It temeinded her that she did it for this reason. To keep Trenton. Trenton was still hers and that, that was enough for her.

“My ex-boyfriend.” She sighed.

“Send his details to me, you will never hear of him again,” Trenton replied seriously making Nadine chuckle.

“Don’t worry, he isn't worth the hassle. He is just a ridiculous man I had once loved.”

“And now you have me. You love me now right?” Trenton smiled on the other end and Nadine nodded.

“You wouldn't believe what I did because of you,” she said referring to the earlier scene.

“Tell me. I want to know.”

“Well, I used to tell everyone in my house that you are going to come and claim me. I told them about our magic moment and how I saved you. Don't worry I didn't tell them you don't know how to swim.” She chuckled. Nadine knew everything that happened that night because Madine wouldn't stop talking about it.

“Really?” Trenton chuckled.

“Yes, I even stayed away from all men for you. I kept myself for you, Trenton.” She added. There was a long silence because Trenton didn't say anything.

“You just said something about an ex-boyfriend, are you saying you didn't have sex with him?” Trenton asked.

Instantly, Nadine realized that she was telling Madine’s story and not hers. Madine was the one who kept herself.

“Uhm, yes. This is why he can't get over me.” She laughed nervously, scratching her head. Why did she have to talk so much without thinking?

“If this is true Nadine, I will love you forever. Not because I am going to be the first but because you never forgot about me and kept this incredible gift for me. I will love you forever, Nadine.” Trenton uttered seriously. There was no iota of joke in his voice, he was one hundred percent serious, and Nadine felt it as well.

“When are you coming home, I have a surprise for you.” He added.

“Surprise? What surprise?”
