Nadine’s heels hit the floor dramatically in the hallway as she headed to the hospital ward. Her mother lay on the bed with a drip connected to her wrist. Nadine stared at her taking her appearance in. At that moment, she noticed the wrinkles on her face and her pale lips. She looked sick.

“You are old, Mom, don't bother me. I don't like to be bothered. I don't want to share what's mine. I had to share your love with Madine, now you want me to share Tristan with her? No, it won't happen.” She smiled gently and ran her red nails into her mom’s hair.

Just then, the doctor walked in.

“Ma’am the transfer document is ready,” he said.

Nadine paused and turned to him.

“Good. Did you include all that I said?”

“Yes ma’am. You said she must never see the light of day. She should be injected with amnesia-inducing drugs and nobody must know about this.” He explained and she nodded each time he made a point.
