Chapter One Hundred Thirty Four

Henry smiled at the woman for a job well done. He turned to Mrs Bloom and was about to speak when she sharply cut in.

"It's okay Henry." she cut down his apology with a smile.

"Can I go to the room and see her?" he demanded and pointed to the door leading to Eve's private ward.

With an approving nod, she replied. "Of course, you can. She's still asleep and mustn't be disturbed." Mrs Bloom hinted.

Henry gave a warm smile. "I understand Mrs Bloom. I just want to see her condition."

His mother was about to take steps after him when Mrs Bloom alerted her to stop.

"Can I talk to you for a moment?"

"Of course," Pearl replied and followed Mrs Bloom to a corner by the end of the hallway.

Henry heaved a deep sigh before pushing the door to the ward in. He slowly made his way into the room and stooped by the bed.
