Don’t say anything

Roman's POV

I nodded at Nathan as he flung the car door open before getting in, and relaxing against the car seat.

Afterwards, I retrieved my iPad from my briefcase, and ran through my schedule for the day again even though I had been briefed on it by Nathan.

I sighed as various unbridled thoughts assailed my head.

What the hell had I done? Was I even in the right state of mind?

I had picked up a random stranger from the club, fucked her and as if that wasn't enough, I had paid her to help me lie to my grandmother.

I scoffed inwardly, shaking my head at my absolute idiocy.

Well, it couldn't be helped now. I just had to hope I hadn't mistakenly taken a serial killer into my house to pose as my fiancée.

Almost immediately after the thoughts flew out of my mind, guilt enveloped me.

I thought back to Sofie.

The vulnerable Sofie who I met at the bar. She didn't seem dangerous that night. If she was, she would have probably brutalized the pervert that was bugging her even before I got there
