The greatest gift

Sofie’s POV

"Are you sure you have everything with you? Have you checked your bag properly? We don't want you forgetting anything important." Roman said, as we walked to the garage.

I huffed, as I zipped my bag close. "Yes, Roman. I have. This is the fifth time I'm rechecking my bag now."

Today was my appointment date, and initially, I had thought I was going to be the more nervous between the both of us.

But Roman had proven me wrong with how paranoid, and jumpy he had been since the day began.

It was the first time he was following me to an appointment, since he was discharged from the hospital, five weeks ago.

Wrapping an arm around my waist, he gazed down at me, and said. "I guess I'm just being paranoid over this appointment. The last time I felt like this was when I had to take college entrance examination."

My face dissolved in a soft smile, before I tiptoed to pull him into a warm hug.
