RYDER

I slammed on the brakes, bringing my truck to a sudden stop in front of the entrance gate to the protected area. Scattered within the dense forest were several old wooden cabins. Liliana sat in the passenger seat, looking tense, her hands clenched into fists on her lap. I turned to her sharply.

"Get out!" My voice was sharp, almost a growl. I didn’t want to be alone with her any longer. I didn’t want to lose control.

Liliana lifted her face, looking at me with an unreadable expression. Her dark brown eyes seemed to hold something, but I didn’t care.

"Hurry up!" I urged again, feeling my own breath grow heavier. I yanked open the door beside her, forcing her out.

Reluctantly, Liliana finally stepped down from the truck. The cold night air wrapped around us, making her pull the flannel shirt I had lent her tighter around her body. I noticed her tugging at the hem of her shorts, clearly uncomfortable with what she was wearing. The shirt was loose, but it still couldn’t completely h

LILIANAI tossed the peeled potato into the bowl of clean water. It splashed a bit on my shirt, but I didn’t care. My hands were starting to ache, but for some reason, my mind felt even more exhausted.“Sarah…” I muttered at last. “I’m having a hard time believing what you said about Ryder. I mean… I rarely see the good in him.”Sarah didn’t answer right away. She was busy slicing carrots, her sharp eyes focused on the cutting board like the vegetables might hold the answers to life. Then, slowly, she murmured, “Oh, that...”I raised an eyebrow, waiting.“He still hasn’t let go of his grandfather’s and little sister’s deaths,” Sarah continued. “They died when the Red Forest was being contested by so many parties. Back then... our family was really on the brink.”I went quiet. My heart felt like it had slowed.“Wow,” I whispered in surprise. “Was his grandfather a guiding figure in his life?”Sarah nodded softly. “Yes. Ryder idolized his grandfather. But not his father. They almost alw

LILIANA“We don’t have a baby,” I said in a near-whisper, filled with anger, staring into Ryder Black’s eyes that burned like coals on the verge of explosion. My tone was calm but sharp—like a dagger slicing slowly.“If you ever do it—if you hurt those kids at the orphanage—I’ll make sure to kill you with my own two hands.”This time, I wasn’t playing. I wasn’t throwing out empty threats. I meant it. The children at the orphanage were part of my life, the only tiny light in the rubble of my world. If anyone dared touch them, I would become something even I wouldn’t recognize.Ryder looked away. The fire in his eyes dimmed. There was something buried in his gaze—regret, maybe. Or just frustration.“I’m not that vile,” he finally muttered, his voice hoarse, like he was talking to himself. “I’m just… angry. Because Ethan barely said a word about our problem to the press.”He turned and picked up my shirt—still bloodstained and torn in several places. His face was stiff, his eyes filled w

  • The Blind Alpha Wants Me Back!   37| I Enjoy the Tension Between Us

LILIANAThe cabin fell silent. The sound of children playing echoed faintly from a distance, mingling with the murmur of a waterfall carried by the wind. Occasionally, there was the clanging of a hammer and the barking of dogs from the village. But all of that felt like another world—a distant world, separate from the quiet space now filled only by me and Ryder Black. The tension between us thickened like morning fog in the valley. I couldn’t bear the silence any longer. Ever since he asked his companions to leave, Ryder had only told me to stay. No explanation. No clear purpose. Just that cold, calculating gaze that made me uneasy.“If you have nothing to say, I’d better go,” I finally said, stepping toward the door.I hadn’t made it halfway across the room when swift footsteps stopped me. Ryder. That tall, firm body moved quickly, like a wolf in the dead of night. He stood before me in the blink of an eye.“Don’t go.”His voice was flat, but there was something in the tone I couldn’

LILIANA"I'm so tired of all your drama trying to escape," Ryder sneered, then threw a pillow on the floor in front of me. "Just use the blanket Serina brought earlier."I didn't respond. I just glared at him, then struggled to lie down on the cold wooden floor. My back ached, my arms were sore from the uncomfortable position. But that wasn’t what made it hard to sleep. What made me restless... was that sound. The rustling of fabric. The sound of a belt being unfastened. A shirt being pulled over the head. I held my breath. Was Ryder... taking off his clothes? My face instantly flushed. I knew I wasn’t supposed to care. I knew I should only be thinking about escaping from here. But I still couldn’t help eavesdropping.I wanted to open my eyes. Just a quick peek. Just to see a little. But the sound of his footsteps approaching made me pretend to sleep immediately. I controlled my breathing carefully. My heart pounded. He stopped beside me. I could feel his gaze."Liliana," he said soft

LILIANAThat night felt cold, even though the fire in the cabin’s hearth still burned. A thin mist hung outside, as if it too was hiding sins that had yet to be uncovered.I tried to push his chest. But he was too strong, and I was too weak in his embrace.“Let me go, Ryder!” I hissed, half panicked, half disgusted. His hand traced my waist slowly, as if marking his territory. The touch made my body tense—not out of desire, but out of disgust and fear. The tremble of his hand was cold against my skin, sending waves of nausea through my stomach.“I didn’t do it! I’m not a whore!” I cried desperately. But that’s what the rumors said. It was even featured in a special news report for the wives of famous men. My name and face were clearly displayed on the screen, next to a headline that made everyone blame me for my divorce with Ethan three years ago. Gossip too perfect to believe, too cruel to ignore.“That’s just gossip!” I hissed, trying to keep my distance from Ryder, slipping away fr

  • The Blind Alpha Wants Me Back!   34 | Don’t Touch My Weak Spot

LILIANAIt was late at night. The wind slipped in through the cracks of the old cabin door, brushing against my skin, carrying the scent of wet earth and mist. Inside this cabin built from solid wood, lit only by a flickering oil lamp, I stood frozen. My breath hitched. Ryder stood tall in front of me—rigid and unyielding. His eyes locked on me like a hawk eyeing its prey."Fine," he finally said, voice deep and sharp. "I'll let you go..."I could barely believe what I just heard. My throat clenched. My chest felt like it might explode. Did this mean he finally realized how foolish it was to trust Ethan? Or... did my words actually get through to him? Did they make him feel something? But before I could even process that thought, his cold voice cut through again."On one condition," he added.I blinked. Of course. There was always a condition. It was never that easy. I clenched my fists, trying to calm the chaos in my chest."Condition?" I muttered, barely audible.Ryder stared at me
