Chapter 2

"WHAT?!".

Annaliese winces as she bites down on her lower lip.

"How is he here?. What is he doing here?!", Mark screams.

Honestly, that boy is a walking microphone, Annaliese thinks to herself.

"So where is he?", Matt asks calmly.

"Well he's at alpha Cedric's house", Eric replies.

"Bet he's here to look for his mate, the poor woman", Mark laments.

Not that It's his problem. I mean if you think about it, she's the mate of the most feared werewolf, she goes on with more thoughts in her head.

Talk about the respect.

Annaliese rolls her eyes at him and ask, "Why do you say woman instead of lady?".

"Oh i heard he's like forty something".

"No, he isn't", Matt counters back.

"He's probably in his late twenties".

"Annie, why aren't you saying anything?", Eric asks her.

"I don't know what to say Eric, i guess he's intimidating and all".

"I hope he finds his mate here so our pack can rise in status", she shrugs.

Eric sighs and touches her shoulder. "You barely talk about mates sweetie, i thought girls blab about finding their mates", Eric interrogates her.

"Not for me Eric, no wolf wants a blind mate. I think I'll be better off without a mate besides i don't have friends to gossip with".

"You're wrong, you're a great shewolf and any hewolf would be very lucky to have you as a mate".

Annaliese gives him a small smile.

"I know you're saying that because I'm your sister but thanks".

"No, I'm not".

Annaliese smiles as Eric kisses her forehead and leaves then Mark pulls her to his chest and hugs her while Matt plays with her hair.

"Stop it, I'm not a baby", she whines, trying to push them away.

"You're our baby", Matt says pinching her cheeks.

"I'm two years older than you", she says, trying to swat his hand away.

'"Kids, come down for dinner".

Their mom mindlinks them as they all run downstairs.

Don't worry, she won't run into anything. She has been living in this house for eighteen years.

Annaliese smells rice and fish sauce.

Dashing for a chair, she waits for her food. Their mom laughs softly as she serves them.

As soon as they all sit down to eat, the twins start withering in pain. They collapse on the floor, convulsing.

Then it occurs to the mother that tonight is the full moon and it is their first shift.

Her dad and her older brother carry the boys into the woods as Annaliese and her mom follow behind. She places her hand in her mom's as her mom drags her along.

Eric and their father place them on the ground while they all watch, well Annaliese couldn't so she just listens to the cracks of their bones as they reformed. For hours, the family watches intently as their youngests shift into their new forms, their mother crying in happiness.

Annaliese shifts into her dark brown wolf, with patches of white on her paws so she could get a look at her brothers. She could only see objects outlines since she was seeing through Cresent's eyes.

She sees two average wolves in front of her whimpering. She moves closer slowly as newly shifted wolves tend to be dangerous.

The two twin wolves growl lowly, warning her to back off. Annaliese stretches her front legs out and raises her hind quarters in the air.

They seem to recognize her as a friend as they study her, move around her, sniff her and then finally lick her face.

She rubs her snout in their furs and raise her two front paws in the air. They both cock their wolf heads to look at her, confused. She nudges them with her head towards the woods before they finally get the hint.

They both take off into the woods while Annaliese mind links her parents and Eric that she would bring them home.

She sprints after them. They chase one another, running around in the woods and howling. They run into some epsilons on duty as she introduces the boys' new wolves to them.

After a while, she hints the boys that it was time to go home and they start walking beside her, one on each side.

They are almost home when a delicious scent hit her nostrils. She raises her snout in the air and sniff.

Just like chocolate mixed with the smell of fresh morning after rainfall.

"MATE!", Cresent shouts happily in Annaliese's head.

She pushes the boys in the direction of the house and watch them as they run into the house while she goes in search of that wonderful scent.

She walks back into the woods and start running excitedly towards the scent while her heart beats faster.

Is this it?.

Will I finally meet my mate?.

What will he be like?.

She collides into something rigid but with soft fur. She falls on her side, wincing from the impact of ramming into an arduous coat of pelt.

She sees the outline of a big wolf standing in front of her.

A huge one. The wolf looks at her with its orange eyes and the realization hits her.

This Big wolf is her mate!.

The big wolf circles around her checking her out. It picks her up by the scruff of her neck and drops her gently on the ground before sniffing her butt. She jumps in surprise and it growls.

Within ten seconds, the Big Wolf changes into a man. The man studies her before he speaks.

She couldn't see the mountain of a man standing in front of her.

She couldn't see the naked man with rippled muscles, silky black hair and a roman nose who is also spotting an eight pack abs.

The man furrows his eyebrows in turmoil before his deep voice resounds in her ears.

"Shift", he says.

Holy shit, his voice is so hot and sexy and hot and cu-, she thinks to herself.

The scent of chocolate was sweeter making her salivate yet his fresh morning smell calms her down.

"Shift", he says harder this time.

Quickly, she shifts back into her human form and stare at her toes. Not that she can actually see them anyway.

"How old are you?", he asks with his baritone voice.

"Eighteen", she answers not meeting his eyes.

"You're young", she could hear the hardness and hostility laced in his voice.

"Look at me", he demands and she looks up at his face. He takes her face in his huge hands and stares into her eyes.

She opens her mouth to say something but he beats her to it.

"You're blind".

She nods her head as she feels him stare at her, conflicted.

Then he lets out a breath of irritation. He speaks up again not giving her the chance to reply.

Analiese's eyes widens at his words.

She hears her mate shift into his wolf and run into the woods while she's left on the spot pondering over what he said.
