Blake’s Pov

Why wouldn't he tell me and he knew about it? I asked myself as I walked back to the chamber, my hand on my stomach, rubbing.

Goodness, I hated the mess that I had gotten myself into. Maybe if I had… well, what? What exactly could I have done? It wasn't as if I chose any of these.

But I still couldn't understand why Ridge would keep this from me. I could understand Julia’s hesitation, but not his. He was my husband and was supposed to tell me things.

“Blake, wait up.” Julia’s voice pushed into my thoughts, snapping me out of them, but I decided to ignore her. There was nothing to talk about with her. She was my friend and didn't think she should tell me if something as important as my father escaping prison, then I wouldn't really say that she was.

“Blake, please wait up.” Julia said again, right before her hand grabbed my shoulder gently, and then she spun me around so that I could face her.

I jerked back from her touch like her fingers had burned me. My eyes na

Unknown’s Pov “He's all patched up. He's cleaned up as well, and he's now resting.” One of my men said as he stuck his head into my office and I nodded my head. “Oh, okay. That's good. When he wakes up, you should feed him and make sure he's warm, then come call me so I can ask him my question.” I said and he nodded his head before he headed out. I was in my office with two men, one of them was prisoner and the other was my man. We were bunched up over a sheet of map that we would find the most unused route from here to some of the places we needed to get to for supplies without being seen by anyone. Preparing for war sure was costing a arm and a leg, and up until now, using the resources we had stolen had gotten us this far, but it could only do so much. We were going to have to get more now. The closer the war loomed, the more we needed supplies. “I think we need to pass this route. It's the safest, if you ask me.” the prisoner said, rubbing his jaw. I looked from him

Unknown Pov The noise woke me up, and I raised my arm slowly, making sure to not wake the fair woman beside me. Or was it… women? I asked myself as I woke fully, smelly two scents next to mine. I opened my eyes and looked around to see I was right. Two women were lying beside me on the bed, buck naked, after a night of passion, if you knew what I mean. That wasn't important right now though, what was, was what woke me up from my sleep. Right, the noise. Looking around for my clothes, that were by the way scattered around all over the floor, I pushed up the bed completely and started to pick them up one after the other, throwing them on. I needed to see what the noise was all about before coming back to these beauties. I looked at them again with a satisfied grin, before walking out of the room. The house was surrounded by a vast field, and other small houses where my men were staying, and then the other men were staying in the small huts built for this very purpose. There w

Ridge’s PovPacing, I gritted my teeth as I thought about it. How could Henry’s men be so careless that they lost Erin? I had been thinking of releasing her and letting her go but only because I planned to out someone on her, and now, she was gone with no one knowing where she went. “I need answers, people. Who the fuck let her door open?” I heard Roman asked no one in particular. The room was thick with tension, the kind that made every man in the warehouse avoid meeting my eyes. My wolf growled low inside me, restless and furious. Erin was dangerous; not because she was strong, but because she was clever, slippery. If she vanished without a trace, it wasn’t by accident. Someone helped her. Or at least, that was my thoughts. This had happened before when someone freed the delivery guy and allowed him to attack me. “Henry!” I barked, my voice echoing off the stone walls. He stepped forward quickly, bowing his head, his face pale. “Alpha,” he answered. “Tell me again,” I demand

Blake’s Pov“She's hiding something all right, trust me, I know.” Julia said as she finally sat down. She had been standing right there at the window, looking out at God knows what. She had just returned from the bakery and it was the first thing I thought to tell her. Why wouldn't I talk about it? This was the bane of my existence and marriage. The fact that she was dragging this out was just messed up, and more like messing with my head. “What do you think that is?” I asked her. “Well, it's probably one of these two. She's doing that to punish Ridge, or she's trying to hide the fact that he’s not her child’s father.” I rubbed my arm, before folding them across my chest, thinking about that. “Then we have to do something about it. I just don't know what.” I said. Julia nodded. “Yes. I mean, I know you said Ridge said he’ll make her, but can he really do that? Except he's going to compel her as the alpha, and that won't sit well with the elders, using his title and positio

Blake’s Pov All I wanted was to make some food and take it to Ridge for lunch because it’s been a while since we ate together or since I cooked for him. I carried the tray of food, and gently rested it against my bump before walking from the kitchen to the elevator. His office was not on the ground floor, and walking the stairs wasn’t an option for me at this time. The elevator soon stopped and I walked down the hall to his office, but then as I reached there and raised my hand to knock, I heard the words that made me stopped. I could hear Ridge’s voice, and Finn, and he was asking Finn why he needed Clarissa’s sample. At first, I was lost, but soon I realized they were talking about the DNA testing Ridge wanted to do. I stood there listening for a while, before I heard Dr. Finn saying his goodbyes. Quickly, I rounded the corner to leave the doorway so that he wouldn’t meet me there standing and eavesdropping. That wasn’t a good trait to find on a person anyway, not to talk

Ridge’s Pov“Come in,” I said, looking up from my computer. We had just finished talking on the conference call with the two alpha’s Roman and I thought that Ryder was planning to attack to talk about joining forces, and we had been able to finalize what we were going to do. The door of the office opened and Dr. Finn walked in with a grim look on his face. He took a bow and greeted us. “Good afternoon, alpha, beta.” He nodded and Roman nodded as well. “Hello, Finn.” I greeted and waved him to a seat. “Good afternoon, alpha, beta,” he repeated, settling into the chair I pointed to. His expression didn’t ease, and that alone told me this wasn’t a courtesy visit. “Finn,” I said again, leaning back in my chair. “You don’t usually come all the way here unless it’s important.” Roman folded his arms, studying him closely. “So, what’s going on?” Dr. Finn exhaled slowly, as though bracing himself. “It’s about the testing you want to do, Alpha.” I frowned, looking from him to Roman. “
