After he chopped the wood, we fetched some water. I'm the one who filled the pail and he's the one who lifted the bucket. I tried to lift a small bucket but he snatched it from me.

"No, Honey. Don't lift this," Gio said but I was too stubborn.

"I can carry it myself, the bucket was just small," I answered.

"No—" He didn't finish what he was going to say when I let go of my bucket and slipped away. I screamed in fear and panic. I was ready to feel the pain of slipping, but instead of falling on the floor, I felt a strong arm on my body. His hand was on my waist, hugging it tightly.

Suddenly, my heart beat fast due to the closeness of our faces. He was staring at me and I was staring at him in shock. His sweet smile flashed and I blinked many times.

"Th-Thank you!"
